Old and vast The Old Hopkinton Cemetery is an old and very large graveyard. Sprawling and rolling hills makes this an interesting place for a walk among some historic and fascinating memorials to the deceased. Looks like there is still a lot of room in the cemetery, its seems every hill you go over shows more room still available for residents. Lot of very old gravestones mixed in with much newer ones. A strange cemetery that seems to mix in the different ages, shapes and styles. Some of the grave memorials are quite huge and elaborate while others are in very poor condition. All broken and sunk with some that can hardly be seen because of trees and bushes growing all around them. Obvious that some of these graves are long forgotten while others are still properly cared for. Definitely gives the old graveyard a mysterious and morose atmosphere. A lovely place with ancient stone walls all around and some nice views. One of the larger historic cemeteries in the state and one you can spend a long time just walking, looking and remembering.
