Dried out and completely bland. It was so non palatable that I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a one day anomaly. Otherwise, I can’t imagine this restaurant sustaining itself for much longer.

Dynasty was our go to Chinese restaurant for the past 10 years. Boy have things changed quickly. I guess they have a new cook or something. Doughy and bland where it was crisp and flavorful. I will probably got to the jade in Upton. Too bad.

Literally the worst buffet I’ve ever been to, and I’m no stranger to chinese buffets. They have one table full of old food with like 8 dishes or so, and a tiny cramped dinning room. Aside from the buffet they don’t deliver, and when you pick up food there its generally just recycled from the buffet. The only redeeming quality of this place is the bar.

Oh dynasty! This place legit satisfies even the meanest Chinese food cravings quickly. They have a decent selection of Chinese food +sushi, win. They have a buffet during weekdays from 11:30 to 3 I believe… Don’t quote me on that and it’s literally like 7 dollars plus some change. It has wings, rangoons, Kung pao chicken, fried rice, lo mein, general gao, chicken with broccoli… You know the basics. Can you tell I go there often? The service is wonderful I love seeing the same faces when I go and they always remember me. Which is kinda sad. Sometimes a girl just wants to sneak Chinese food for the second time that week without someone remembering sheesh!

I love chinese food(probably having to do with being chinese) but i did not love dynasty. I didn’t hate it either. It is utterly unremarkable in quality; the food was exactly as you would expect from a 8 $ lunch buffet. You have your standard fair of general tso’s breaded and too sweet chicken; broccoli chicken that you can make at home if you buy soy sauce, and that ilk. The food would not have been out of place in a mall food court. The food ranges from flavorless(looking at you chicken peanuts and celery) to cloyingly sweet(general tsos). Even all this aside, which seems pretty damning, there is really not much better in the hopkinton area. Sure if you hop over to framingham, or even further in towards boston, the number of options increase. The only things pushing dynasty from 2 to 3 stars is the utter sparsity of competition in town, and lack of options for a quick lunchtime meal. I would go back; not happily, but if the sandwiches served in the company cafeteria get too stale The lunch buffet costs the same as takeout so I guess if you aspire to corpulence like I do, you shouldn’t go for a takeout option.

Such a great place! I always went to the Mandarin, but now that I’ve found Dynasty, it’s definitely my new go to. It’s so much cheaper than Mandarin and many of the items are actually much better quality. The buffet is so affordable. This is truly a gem.

Good drinks and bar area. But the food i wont touch. Have personally seen employees without gloves rolling crab ragoons at a dining room table. That turned me, off ever since

Hands down this is my families favorite Chinese Restaurant. The food is fresh and the service has always been fast, attentive, and friendly. We used to live in the area and generally used take-out at least once a week. Before we found Dynasty we always tried any other area Chinese food venue only to be disappointed. We were lucky enough to find Dynasty, We moved to Waltham six years ago and after an endless search anywhere close to our area we determined that it was a lost cause to keep looking and gave up on Chinese locally. But Dynasty is still a contact on both my wife and my own cell phones and we make the trek all the way from Waltham to Hopkinton once a month to eat in or take out. This place is that special that we would venture so far just to get our favorite dishes. The kids go nuts when we go and at age 23, 20, 13, and 11 they all come to eat or wait impatiently for take-out to return. There is no other restaurant that we would ever have the full family participate. If your interested in the Lounge its kind of like«Cheers» where regulars have been fixtures for years and newcomers always have a good time. We have lived in NY, PA, and FL and we never found anything that was even reminiscent to Dynasty. When people come to visit us from out-of-state we will frequently have a meal at the restaurant and everyone has loved the food and the quiet and casual dining room. Dynasty is worth a trip and if your local its an absolute«no brainer». Thanks to the Dynasty folks that have proceeded to deliver high quality excellent tasting food at reasonable prices for over a decade.

Good food, decent prices, good service. I ordered the happy family(mix of chicken, beef and seafood) and my husband some dumplings, miso soup, and sushi. All were great, although the soup was a little small and the rice a little dry for my tastes. Pineapple at the end(with the check) was a nice touch. If we lived closer we’d definitely be back!

I always loved Dynasty growing up, and swore it was by far THEBESTEVA! Over the past year my family had ordered take out from there at least 3x(spending a minimum of $ 100 each time). And let me tell you that will be the last! We always get your basic poopoo platter for two, low main and chow main, extra side of chicken fingers and crab rangoons, pork fried rice, and general gaui chicken. It adds up quick, but reasonably priced, and always hot and on time. However everything, everytime, was disappointing to the point that the left overs got tossed. Their fried Shrimp are of good size and nicely breaded, but difficult to bite into. They were bland and tough. Sadly even the chicken fingers were a disaster to eat. Even the appearance of the chicken fingers seemed very odd and questionable past few times we ordered them. Ultimately they were all flavorless, greasy, over battered, and under stuffed. The color, size, and texture were the first of clues ;I couldn’t believe my eyes, usually they are so monstrous you can barely consume 3 comfortably, but these were no bigger than my finger and very skinny in shape. Even the crab rangoons that came with the PuPu were over cooked, out of shape litteraly, and barely had any filing. Oddly enough 2 out of the 3x there was no consistency bt the items that came with the PuPu vs the items that came as ‘sides.’ It was nearly impossible for anyone to believe that it all came from the SAME place, and all part of the SAME order. I WISH I still had that picture. My top two favorite items of there’s are their low main and crab rangoons. However both the low main and the pork fried rice are also dry, rubbery, and bland… blah & flavorless. I’m so sad right now, and I don’t dare to crave Chinese food until I find a new place to love. Sorry Dynasty, miss you

It was OK. We went just before they closed and everything was rushed. Like I said, food was OK bit it’s been better there before. Tangerine Beef was great. Fried rice was blah. Spare ribs were dry and over cooked and not very tasty.

As far as Chinese restaurants go, I really like this place. Food is always yummy. Only wish the beef teriyaki had more teriyaki flavor. Dining in is always nice, great service, nice atmosphere. Their sushi rolls come out a bit small sometimes.

The food has gone way down since the new owners took over!!! I call it dyNASTY now! Which is pretty sad since my family & I had been going there since they 1st opened way back when. The food just is just so yucky & from the hostess to the waitstaff, they are all very unpleasant(bordering on rude)!! I’d give it zero stars if I could! The last time that we were they I asked them for a Shirley Temple w/o the fruit garnish, since I’m deathly allergic to pineapple. Well the waitress brought out the drink w/the garnish and stated to walk away. I stopped her & told her politely that I can’t drink this & would need a new one made. Needless to say she gave me a rude look, took my drink away &2seconds later came back with the glass now w/o the garnish and proceeded to «slam» the drink down I front of me. Needless to say I didn’t drink it! Now lets get to the food. Gross & yuck pretty much sums up our meal! Not only that but our waitress was rude to us through out our time there. I’m sorry for making you work & not be able to talk about me in Chinese to your fellow workers! Yes, we did something that we’ve never done, we docked her on her tip. Never again will we step foot in this place & we tell all we know to avoid this place! I know that the owners won’t care about my poor review of this place, but just wanted to warn anyone who might be thinking about dropping some $ on a meal here. We’ve since moved out of state, but I’ll never forget my last meal here!

The chinese food here is quite enjoyable, but the sushi is pretty standard. If you are coming for sushi dont stray to far from the basics like spicy tuna or a cali roll. The drinks are also pretty weak, and let’s be honest many of us who are going out for chinese food want cheap food, big portions and strong drinks(they have the first two.)

This is a typical americanized Chinese restaurant. We used to call it Dy-Nasty as the food here is pritty greasy, but not more so than all the other Americanized places of the same caliber. It is clean, the wait staff is attentive most of the time. I just wish more of them spoke english, so I didn’t have to repeat myself when they bring over someone who does speak english. I have ordered the sushi, and it is palatable, but not high end. And the edemame and miso soup leave alot to be desired. BUT if your looking for a filling, quick, cheap lunch, go for the buffett. they have a wide selection and it is quickly restocked. There is nothing BAD about the food or service, but it is nothing I would rave about either. It is mostly fast and convenient… and isn’t that what most of us want most days anyway?

I’ve been eating at Dynasty for several years since moving to Hopkinton in 2006. While the quality of the food has fluctuated somewhat, I’d rate it as better than average, but not spectacular. I have been reading some of the reviews, and what makes them difficult to understand is that until you know what part of the menu they are focusing on, you can’t evaluate the review. To explain what I mean, I will tell a brief story about a co-worker who once said«I hate Chinese food.» When I asked her why, she said«I hate fried chicken wings.» This is Chinese food? C’mon. Or the folks that order Egg Foo Yung or some other so-called Cantonese dish that I would not even consider remotely tasty. Here’s what I would say. Start with something like Hot and Sour Soup – it should be both spicy and sour, with plentiful bits of pork and bamboo shoots. Dynasty’s is good, but could be better if it were spicier. Then try a Mandarin dish with some kick to it – Hunan Chicken, Twice Cooked Pork, Kung Pao Chicken. These will be very tasty at Dynasty. Ma La chicken is very good, too. Test the Peking Ravioli. It’s not all chicken fingers and boneless spareribs, those are fine, but not a main course to me. I’ve had people rave about places like Sabrina Wong’s – to me, the only thing they make that is good are the chicken fingers, boneless pork, etc. They cannot make any of the aforementioned entrees, those are tasteless at that restaurant. So when rating a Chinese place, mention what you ate, and your review will be much more helpful.
