wow — i just noticed how much i paid for this very sparse room with ancient mattresses and no breakfast of any kind, in these times wherein some manner of complimentary breakfast is a given at most places of lodging no matter how humble… holy crow.(turns out they do serve coffee — but apparently only in the morning.) if the desk staff was not so very pleasant I would probably give this place one star and put it on my never-again list. i’ll probably put it on my never-again list anyway — i consider it terrible value for the money, having cost $ 40 or $ 50 more than some places I’ve stayed that *have* served me breakfast(and provided more pleasant and modern accommodations). the desk staff, however, is very pleasant as far as i’ve seen — really top-notch. that’s all i can say to recommend this place though. water stains on the ceiling, mattresses whose springs you can hear and feel, nothing on the walls readily visible from the bed, which gives one the feel of waking in an especially barren place, no breakfast at all… I examined the bed closely as i pulled back the sheets to see if i could discern any vermin(i couldn’t, but i don’t know if such beings are visible to the naked eye anyway)…the accommodations inspireth not my confidence. even the toilet paper was bizarre(see photo). ah, one more positive thing I can say: they do offer free wifi. I wouldn’t expect it given the condition and age of the rest of the appointments, but there it is. I even had a full-strength signal in my room, which I’ve rarely experienced at any place of lodging. i’d say stay here if you must(it was a must for me last night as i could find no place open to get a cup of coffee)…with the awareness that you’re going to pay a lot for a little… but i’d give it a pass if you can. update, 11 April 2016: no vermin-related difficulties have befallen me, from which I deduce that there were at least no vermin in the bed. whew.

I didn’t really like the place or the room or the service, but I negotiated a $ 50 refund afterwards and they followed through. It was like pulling teeth, to be honest, which suggests that I’m not the first unhappy customer they’ve dealt with. Oh well. At least they had a room when I needed it.

Begrudgingly I give this place a starting be clear I DONOTGIVEANYSTARS I wish I didn’t have to give this any stars but in order to leave a review I have to give at least one star I do not recommend this Inn at all. The rooms were FARBEYOND needing a little upgrade and when we went to leave we were told no problem you haven’t been charged. Yet 3 – 4 weeks later one of the rooms shows up on my card for 2 nights charge. When I call to figure this out the manager is not only not helpful by claiming I must not be reading my bank statement correctly she was just plain rude. Stating if she hadn’t charged me she can’t credit me. Yet when I got my bank involved miraculously I was eventually credited for one night but not both even though we never stayed and according to her we were never charged. I’m still working on all this and the event(or nonevent as the case may be) took place in August.

Ironically we stayed here exactly 1 year ago on the exact same day due to Irene and just a few days ago because of Sandy. Great staff, nice people but rooms need upgrade. Walls are a little thin. I could hear the argument next door even though I had the TV on. I didn’t like using a regular key for the door(no electronic key) or the fact the doors do not have the extra slide lock on inside.
