He will provide you with an estimate, then will up charge on the same items. He will not inform you when there’s an added expense. The work will be half-​ass, and you will need to contact another contractor to repair his work. Make sure that what ever work you discuss with him over the phone that the same items are mentioned in his emails, or else he’ll try to get out of doing the work or will charge you extra for it. He will not provide you with a materials list or the cost of the materials used. He will not start the job when he says he’s available, always makes excuses for not showing up on time, and does not inspect the work his crew was left to handle.
What ever work he’s going to do at your residence, go to Lowe’s or Home Depot and price the items. And look at the material he’s bringing to the job. And if you need a special order item, order it yourself. Don’t depend on him to bring it to your home in a timely manner.
He is the type of contractor that will lock you into a job, show up and do a little bit of work and then disappear for several weeks. The work will not start or end when anticipated.
He lacks customer service/​professionalism skills by not responding to emails, voice messages, or text messages — several days if not weeks will roll by before you hear from him.
