Seriously a good karaōke place where no one gives a F*** it’s a great little dive bar and I will definitely be back next time I’m in town! I would only suggest more karaōke songs on the Dj, and maybe A better bartender that knows what a «madras» is… I think that’s a pretty standard one to learn.

This bar isn’t a high class bar you’ll find in a big city, but I will tell you that it’s been some of the most fun I’ve ever had on a night out. I’ve been to hood river twice with a bunch of girlfriends and each time we go it’s so much fun. Cheap drinks, karaōke, and at a certain hour they open up the dance floor and it turns into a gigantic dance party. It seriously gets pretty poppin. SOMUCHFUN. I definitely recommend coming here with your friends. We thought we’d be in hood river for a «chill weekend» of wine on the couch but ended up raging with tequila shots at Jacks all night long. 5 stars. Also, it is in the back of a random Chinese restaurant and if you call they will say there is no karaōke, but trust me, there is. Only downside is their selection of Justin Bieber songs. Pretty minimal. But if you’re apart of 95.5% of the population that isn’t a belieber, you won’t be disappointed by the song choice.

Definitely not a first choice for a bar. Pretty much where you go when you are to drunk to care and still wanna party. Horrible service have sat at the bar for 15 minutes and not been helped when there were only 4 people in the bar. Will never be back.

this place is the real deal. as far as I’m concerned, it’s the only bar in downtown hood river. all the other places are stuck up yuppie hellholes. if you’re from someplace that has Asian food, like wontons and spring rolls, it’s the only place in town you’ll find it! at least the only bar. and they have karaōke. get drunk and sing, they like that. this and the trillium are the only places worth considering. real people here.

Definitely a dive bar. Lots of locals, and karaōke of properly questionable quality. The first thing that strikes you is the smell, probably due to the Chinese food and dated décor; however in the rear you don’t notice it. The beer is the usual selection, plus a couple of local craft(if mainline) ones, so it’s not too bad. I didn’t exmine the menu too closely, but I doubt any of it was vegan. The karaōke KJ was pretty friendly, although comedy was to be had from the videos, which were completely novel interpretations of the songs(versus the 80s videos you might remember from various hits). But certainly the place to go in Hood River for a proper dive bar experience.

This is the funkiest smelling bar I’ve ever been in. However fun awaits you if you can get past the smell. This is the hot spot of a Hood River. The cozy booths of yesteryear set the stage but the real fun(at least when we were here on Sat night) is in the back room. Karaōke is pretty popular and the strangest videos accompany the background music. They are entertaining in their own way. Host was great, lots of energy. I guess it converts to a club afterwards but we ducked out as it was past our bedtime. Would definitely return!

If you are looking for a dive, you’ve found it. A bizarre combination of Shanghai dive lounge in front, and biker karaōke dance floor in back. Get a Scorpion if you don’t mind a little hangover — just don’t ask what’s in it, and definitely don’t ask three times.

A classy joint for out of towners wanting to get their groove on. You can learn some new moves from the locals, enjoy the longing stares of the lonelies, and sing your heart out with the cowboys. Tips: go potty before you go, don’t look at the ceiling, and heed the big green sign above the dance floor.

This is me, admitting to the world I go to Jacks. Not sure how it got its name, but it’s the side lounge to The Golden Rose Restaurant. Chinese food, if you couldn’t tell. I love to dance and unfortunately(fortunately) Jacks is the only place late night in Hood River to get your groove on. It’s a mixed group… old, young, tourist, locals, kiteboarders, and cowboys. ATM, video poker, and a vending machine full of cigs are also available. This place is dirty and a dive. That’s why I love it so much. As a local, here are a few tips: 1. Don’t go if you’re sober. 2. Have your ID ready at the door. They card everyone. 3. Drink the juice. The Scorpion Bowl that is. Small or large, just do it. Your body will hate you the next day. I personally think it tastes like orange hi-c. 4. Arrive around 9 if you want to sing karaōke. 5. Arrive after midnight if you just want to dance. 6. Do not take your beverages onto the dance floor. you will get yelled at. «Security» is watching you like a hawk. 7. Admire the wallpaper. 8. Tell Sonny I sent you. *update — here is a little taste of what you might find at Jacks and this was early in the night. WARNING: Painful ending at the end. I hear she’s ok…

Jacks has karaōke, bar, dance floor and lounge where you can sing, drink and dance. You can order chinese food as well because in the day time its the Hood River Restaurant(chinese/american food). The scorpian bowl are great, and good selections of beers.
