My family and I decided to throw a mini Father’s Day celebration all together before we each take our own dad/husband/boyfriend out for Father’s day on Sunday. I called earlier in the week to see if I could make reservations since it is Father’s Day weekend and every other place we wanted to go was booked. When I called I asked the lady of I could make reservations for Saturday and she told me we could only make a reservation if I had 20 or more people. At that point I didn’t have 20 committed people. So I went back to my family to get an exact head count. I finally had 20 people, maybe more would show up depending if they worked or not. I called today, Friday, and I told the lady on the phone I wanted to make reservations for tomorrow, Saturday for 20 people, more might be showing up but I wasn’t sure yet. She sounds a little confused and she tells me to hold on. A few seconds later she comes back on the phone and tells me they don’t take reservations for Saturdays, it’s only walk in. WTF!!! Make up your guys mind and if you knew that why didn’t you just say that to begin with instead of putting me on hold! She tells me but around 5:30pm on Saturdays we aren’t busy so just come in and we’ll accommodate you. If there’s a line, maybe ten minute wait at the most. I’m going to take her word on it and see what happens tomorrow. I’m even going to go a little early so we don’t have 20 people waiting around with kids getting hungry and wanting to eat every pastry in the showcase before dinner.

Absolutely delicious! We ordered 5 different breakfast items and each was better than the last. Make sure you save room for the delicious desserts and pastries on your way out. Great food and nice service. Definitely worth a visit!

Had the chicken teriyaki plate with potato salad and a fried chicken drumstick. The Teri sauce was too sweet and overpowering, love the potato salad and butter roll. They offer fried chicken dinners now, the chicken had crisp skin and juicy meat. Now if they only can offer cole slaw it would be perfect!

Can only speak for the dessert selection as this is all we had heading to airport. Good selection, prices in normal range. Service seemed a bit rushed and was not very personable. Everything tasted delicious.

Breakfast is limited, parking is limited, bakery is extensive. Only came back cuz my husband’s classmates were going there. One of his friend’s would’ve not come if he couldn’t find parking but he was lucky and someone was leaving when he came in.

Yum. A little pricier(and larger) than I expected but worth the pennies as a treat. Really nice coffee shop to sit down and enjoy breakfast or brunch. Very busy even for a weekday. Enjoy!

I was so excited to finally eat at Liliha Bakery! I have only picked up from the original bakery in Liliha. 8 of my classmates & I decided to grab dinner here after class to celebrate us graduating with our master’s degrees & for ending the term. The inside is so nice! When you first walk in you see the nice spacious bakery filled with all their drool worthy pastries. Then you see the bright & busy open kitchen! We were seated next to the kitchen & were greeted with the sweetest waitress. We asked if we could all get separate checks & she said it was okay. We ordered the loco mocos, meat loaf & ox tail soup. Everyone said everything was super delicious. I was so excited to finally try their butter rolls with their infamous neon red jelly! It was literally heaven! I was really impressed with how nicely designed the restrooms were! I felt like I was walking into a restroom similar to one you would find at Roy’s, BLT steak or 53 by the sea! It was really really nice & fancy! Make sure you grab a number at the bakery even if you’re just grabbing some frozen coco puffs! Cause I stood around for a bit thinking I could just buy them, but I had to grab a number. There is ample parking in the front & lots of seating in the restaurant. I would highly recommend this place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts & for when you need to refuel after a night out!

If you want a good, no frills breakfast spot, check out Liliha Bakery. The menu has all the basics covered, omelettes, french toast, eggs and meat w/rice, pancakes, even saimin. I personally think their pancakes are some of the best. Light, fluffy, and large. The butter rolls come with most breakfast and lunch plates toasted to perfection, served w/good olé fashioned jelly. No wait on week days, but can get crowded on the weekends. Try to sit at the counter so you can watch the bakers in action! Oh, and don’t forget to visit the bakery and pick up a dozen coco puffs. Those alone deserve five stars. Chantilly cream… mmmmmmm.

Three and a half stars. The chill ambiance and food kind of comparable to Zippys was great. But our server was a guy who didn’t look like he loves his job and he kept coughing so I thought that was kind of unsanitary. If we had a better server, I think our experience would have been more enjoyable. But I must say, the butter rolls are so delish! Best free bread ever given with our meal! I think I prefer their rolls over Outback’s pumpernickel bread any day!

Saw great reviews so came with my son before his flight to have breakfast. I’ll start with the service, no complaints she was very nice. At first when you walk in its a nice spacious restaurant with an open kitchen with what looks professional cooks but looks can be deceiving. Now for my food review. I ordered a country omelette, maybe it’s me but I thought all omelettes had cheese in them but this one definitely did not come with cheese. I had asked if the meat was on the side and she said yes but the meat was in the inside. No biggie. The omelette didn’t have much flavor and it came out as a scramble not an omelette oh and we ask for a side of cheese since it comes without cheese and she brought me a plate with one slice of yellow Anerican cheese lol I sent it back… whatever at this point I’m adding a bunch of salt and eating it because I’m starving. I asked for fried potatoes which weren’t all cooked all the way through. It came with a little dish of tangerines which I’m sure came out of a can. They weren’t my favorite but I ate everything because again I’m hungry and it wasn’t terrible just don’t understand why they got such great reviews but everyone has their own taste. The place inside is really nice and spacious and with plenty free parking. Would I come back here, most likely not. Gave them 3 stars for the place, service and cleanliness.

Liliha Bakery! This location is the second one. The first one is located in Nuuanu. This is where the old Sam Choy’s restaurant used to be. Parking is right in the front. The restaurant is nice, in the front has the bakery and further back is the dine in. Advice: if you get cold, bring a jacket. As for me I love AC, so no need for me lol. The one thing to get at any Liliha Bakery location is the butter rolls!!! They cut in half their baked dinner roll bread, butter it and then put it on the stove for a little bit, then they have their red awesome jelly to put on it! Usually a dinner entrée comes with the butter rolls, but I usually order another on the side because it’s that awesome! :) For dinner, I usually order either the loco moco, hamburger steak, or the pork cutlet. Usually, at the 1st location they have different ounces for the hamburger steak. I usually get the regular size. Dinner comes with 2 scoop rice, either corn or Mac salad and the butter roll. The service at this location is great. Food comes out pretty quick, when we came it was pretty packed. Tables are pretty spread out I would say. I don’t really like when restaurant tables are super close. The bathrooms are pretty clean. I value that a lot. On the go, before you leave, stop by the bakery and get some coco puffs! They have different kinds of coco puffs but I just tend to get the box for the original one to go! :). The only thing bout this location is that it isn’t 24 hours, on certain days, like the original Liliha bakery in Nuuanu but, the dinning space totally makes up for it, for the original location only has counter seating, so sometimes it’s difficult there to be seated with a larger party.

Very happy we got a chance to stop by at the new Liliha Bakery on Nimitz. I only know Liliha Bakery as the 10 seater stop at 2am. This is NOT the same at all. Ambiance is so much more like a nice casual sit down restaurant, one could feel out of place eating here in board shorts and slippers. Not to say you can’t but it’s just that well kept with the nice new dining tables, hostess to seat you at your table, retro light fixtures, open kitchen. Ordered the pork cutlet w/gravy. Selected brown rice and toss salad. Heads up with the salad, it’s mixed with raw onions(not my cup of tea but I know others that love it). Boyfriend and I agreed that the pork was delicious and gravy on point. For the lunch/dinner meals you’re also served some of their amazing butter rolls(yasss!) Of course at a place that does 24⁄7 breakfast we grabbed some sausage and eggs subbing rice for potatoes. You can’t rate breakfast meals too much since it’s pretty basic and messing up breakfast is almost impossible, we did leave satisfied and 100% set on returning for more! I think that says enough in itself. Unfortunately, no pictures for this one… food looked too good and I was too hungry to wait. Small note about service, they’re all very nice — I have no complaints whatsoever. Great job Liliha Bakery

Stopped by this place to grab a bite to eat for lunch. We were starving being at the rental car place forever. The place looked like it’s closed when you see it from the outside so had to check real quick if it was open. Thank goodness it was cause I heard good things about this place. As you walk in, they have their bakery and towards the back of the place is a restaurant. We got here about 2pm and it was not busy at all. The kiddos ordered the pancakes, I ordered the Portuguese sausage and egg and the bf ordered their saimin. My meal came with the butter roll and it was a mouth full of deliciousness especially with the raspberry jelly. The sausage was good too. But, the best thing was their pancakes! They made the pancakes light and fluffy to perfection. I wish I could’ve bought the pancake mix but, too bad we didn’t have a kitchen at the hotel. I did however leave with 2 jars of the raspberry jelly. Next time, I will try their cakes.

LOCATION: on nimitz, right across the old kmart SETTING: the have indoor dine in. no outdoor seating. they also have a bakery to order their famous cakes and donuts. SERVICE: their service is alright. our waitress didnt come often to check on us and give us water refills or anything. she also got my order wrong. it just overall seemed like she wasnt paying attention at all :( FOOD: i got the mushroom & cheese omelette. it was okay. felt plain to me, just missing spinach. i always get that lol but their potatoes was good! crispy and just right with good seasoning. my bf got their country style omelette with portugese sausage. he loved it. our sides was a whole diff story though. we got the side bacon(crispy) and they def make it crispy! literally felt like we were chewing on rocks :(we also got the side corned beef hash. which was too peppory & mushy. not the best. and we love our corned beef hash so this was a disappointment for us :(wasnt a great breakfast in all for us.

I was pretty excited to try this place. When I finally did come, it was pretty disappointing. DECOR: Nice local décor, island style. It is really cool that the bakery is open and one can see what is going on inside. Interior was dimly lit to create proper atmosphere, but it was too dim for my taste. SERVICE: Our waitress Marylou was too busy to stop by our table. Almost seemed like she was trying to avoid us. Only stopped by after we were done eating to ask how we were doing. Oh, and brought the check. We were at the mercy of another waitress who was very sweet and very nice. Thank you Jane. You are awesome! FOOD: Average. Our LocoMoco was good, but the salad was definitely overpriced. $ 12 for a house salad. Only one salad on the menu. It was just iceberg salad with very little of anything else. Overall an OK restaurant, but not worth returning. We will be back for pastry products, which are excellent.

Went here a couple of months ago for the first time because a friend was treating and worked near here… I sort of feel like giving 2 stars… but will be nice and give 3… I mean what I ate was not bad/ok, but the price was higher than what I would have been happy paying… meaning…I am not coming here unless I was forced to because someone else was in charge of the choice… I mean since this was free for me… I will show appreciation and so forth… but even I am not a regular at Zippy’s…but if the choice was between those two… I would choose Zippy’s all day every day over coming here… even the cocoa puffs that many female co-workers want or ask for seem kind of over priced in my mind. I guess the coating on the top is not what I desire so it really is a no interest for me kind of place. I liked this place better when it was Sam Choys… I wonder what happened? I also wonder what happened to his salad dressing at Costco… I used to buy that a lot… oh well…

Coco Puffs are a kind of Magical deliciousness at Liliha Bakery in Honolulu. When In Hawaii Liliha Bakery is a Absolute Must and a Must Do thing in Honolulu. This is not only a bakery but also restaurant that serves a breakfast, lunch and dinner. Liliha Bakery is located right on N. Nimitz Highway. Parking here is limited so it can be a problem, especially during peak hours. There’s always at least a 30 – 60 min wait for a table. When you walk in the restaurant you see All the YUMMY bakery goods. It all looks so Good that you wish this was a buffet so you can try everything. It’s a neighborhood spot that feels like home. The popular item here are there Coco puffs. Coco Puffs are similar to a cream puff… but soooo Much better. It’s a puff that’s filled with different puddings such as: chocolate, strawberries, also different tropical flavors like mango, coconut and there newest flavor, green tea. All Coco Puffs are topped with there buttery macadamia nut chantilly frosting that’s out of this world! Had breakfast here on one of my frequent visits during the week. We all had a hearty breakfast of Portuguese sausage, eggs, loco moco, and everything Gluttonous… When we first sat down, the waitress served us warm Yummy Butter Rolls with their jam… sooooo good! We were completely full and satisfied. After you finish your meal you can waddle over to the bakery side and order a couple coco puffs for later. Service was very good. The waitress checked on us and made sure our drinks were always full and that we were satisfied with our order. Left there with a very full belly and a Dozen Coco Puffs to bring back to Sacramento.

Love bringing visiting guest here giving them a history lesson on Liliha Bakery. However, mom likes it too. We come here for lunch every now and then. Even though the lunch crowd gets busy we are able to find seats quickly, some times at the counter. It’s nice to watch the chefs busy cooking the meals and bring them out. The service here is excellent. I feel it is almost as good as any top notch restaurant. Always attentive filling water and coffee, checking if any thing else is needed, doing a bit of chit chat and getting us to smile a little more. Butter Buns These are served as appetizers when you order a meal. You get two, actually looks like one cut in half, buttered and grill toasted to get that little burnt edging. Fluffy soft they are so delicious. Lobster Bisque Soup $ 4.50 It said lobster I couldn’t resist. Creamy, thick, a little salty and with some small shrimp. If the cup was larger and I could get a sandwich, I would’ve been happy and that would have done it for me. Liked it a lot. Meatloaf $ 12.50 This is what mom comes here for. Tender and soft with good flavors makes this easy for her to eat. The gravy is nice too. Not too starchy with a little sweetness. The meal also comes with a scoop of rice, some toss salad and about a cup of corn. I like that salad was added instead of a 2nd scoop of rice. It’s more of a balanced meal than your regular plate lunch with the potato mac salad. Coke $ 2.95 It’s fresh and refillable. Date Bars $ 6.75 You will find these on the table in the bakery area. Sometimes they are not there. That’s when I get frustrated. When everyone is going for the coco puffs, while they’re not looking, I pick a bag or 2 of these nonchalant looking bag of bars. They soft, a little gooey, chewy deliciousness hard to eat just one. I offer these to people they take one and let them know they can have some more. They say one is good enough but soon after they finish what they got they ask for another one. I’ve even been told if I’m going to Liliha if I could bring a bag of these back for them. Sure, no problem what about the coco puffs. They say forget that, just the date bars. Go figure. Parking can be a problem especially if you come during peak hours. You may drive around the building a few times before you get a spot. I think there was one time I had to just drive away after going around several times. I’ll be coming back again and again. Although, I do still like going back to the old location for that retro, nostalgic vibe.

I live literally a minute away from the original location. What’s the point of driving clear out to Nimitz Highway for the same thing? And on a Sunday morning right at the time when churchgoers are partaking in their pious ritual of obligatory post-worship brunch? I questioned my mother’s logic. Why? Why? Why? Sure enough, there was a huge line – parties of 6, 8, even 12, a far stretch from the free for all sit at your own risk counter at the Liliha shop. After about twenty minutes we were seated. There are very few differences between Nimitz and Liliha. The square plates, smaller water glasses, all cosmetic things. There are, though, a few different menu items including fried chicken and green tea hot cakes, which I ordered. I don’t even like pancakes, but for these, I’m willing to make an exception. The batter has green tea powder mixed into it, and the pancakes are served with the same green tea chantilly that goes onto the green tea puffs. The service was a little shotty, or actually more like non-existent. If you’re okay looking past that and just want to get a typical loco moco, butter rolls, fried chicken, or even green tea pancakes, then Liliha Bakery is a good option.

Well, the hype has finally died down, and I gotta tell you folks if you’re thinking about checking out the new Liliha Bakery & restaurant… I would say now it’s a good time to come down here to check this new place out! One of my home boyz was trying to catch up with me, & wanted to take me out for a belated birthday. He had asked me where I wanted to go to get some grindages, so I told him I wanted to go to Liliha Bakery — «da new one!»…cuz I haven’t had a chance for try ‘em! Upon arriving on a Friday night around 6:45PM or so, there was plenty open parking in the Liliha Bakery private parking lot. As we walked into the restaurant, we could see just two parties waiting on the bench to get a table. We walked up to the hostess to let her know we needed a table for two, and upon putting our name in, we got our table within 10 minutes or so. As we were seated at our table, a friendly waitress comes by right away to drop off some menus & water… After we scan the menu, I decided to have the Hamburger Steak with gravy($ 11.95), & my friend orders the Grilled Salmon($ 16.95). With our meals, we get the DELICIOUS complimentary Buttered Rolls, with that Pink Neon Jelly thing-a-ma-jig! I don’t know what’s in that jelly, but it tastes so darn goooooooooood! Especially with the rich buttery rolls! Ummmmmmmmmmm! Nom! Nom! Nom! What can I say about the grub we had ordered? My Hamburger Steak plate was just average at best. I would say the gravy was a bit bland if I say so myself. I did like it that they served brown rice here, and my meal also came with buttered corn, & a small garden salad. My friend seemed to have enjoyed his Grilled Salmon. I did not try his meal, but the fish appeared moist & tender. His meal also came with rice, buttered corn, & a small garden salad too. For you folks who have never come to Liliha Bakery, they are known for their delicious pancakes, as well as their Coco Puffs & Cream Puffs! Liliha Bakery serves a lot of local comfort food, and the bakery also makes a lot of delicious bakery treats like —(cakes, pies, & pastry’s), besides the Coco Puffs, & Cream Puffs. I saw on their breakfast menu, that they now have a Green Tea pancake! WOW! Sounds kinda interesting to me… now I wanna come back here to have that for breakfast one day, Ummmmmmmmmm! Service was fast, friendly, & efficient today! The waitress took our orders quickly, when water ran out, she came and refilled our glasses. No issues with service today. If you had a bad experience while dining here when Liliha Bakery 1st opened, maybe now it’s a good time to give them another try?
