Was able to get a late reservation before the restaurant closes down this weekend. They ran out of beef tongue which was a little disappointing since it happens to be one of their most popular meats. We ordered the shabu shabu meat, pork toro, skirt steak, Kobe, Kim chi and roasted garlic. Everything was very flavorful! A lot of the meat was marinated, which back home usually isn’t but overall very tender and delicious!

Check your bill carefully before you leave this restaurant. They may have already included an 18% tip on your bill ! Although I did not like the way this restaurant is managed, I did like our waiter and waitress. Compared to a few years ago, this place is now way over-priced. Maybe the ownership has changed? The next time we go out for yakiniku, we will just go to «Gyukaku» on the other side of the street.

Overrated for what it is? Maybe being spoiled by Los Angeles food. Felt the small restaurant trying to be an upscale. Walked in it was rather small not well kept place. The servant was rather rude or might be having a bad day. Food is decent for the limited selection in Hawaii but I’m not sure it’s worth it!

Absolutely the best Yakiniku restaurant on the island with the best Kim Chee! Not just any kind Kim Chee now, but this one in particular! I could eat it all day. Yakiniku Hiroshi is located on Royal Hawaiian Ave, and it’s next to the currency exchange store. Hard to find street parking in Waikiki but they cover up to 2 hours in the Waikiki Trade Center. I was told they have two stalls available behind their restaurant, but I have no idea where. Food is excellent here. They serve the highest quality meat, but although it’s on the pricier side, it’s worth it! There’s two course, Silver or Platinum, but we always go with the platinum course! The platinum course is very filling and you’ll definitely not leave hungry. It includes: *A5 Wagyu Ribeye Steak– already precut for you. My absolutely favorite dish, and it literally melts in your mouth! So much marbling going on in this piece! *Beef Tongue– pretty thick cut, and I must say the texture is just right and it’s not chewy at all! It comes with this lemon pepper dipping sauce. *Toro Kalbi– thinly sliced kalbi. goes well with the ponzu sauce, and it’s so tender! *Kobe Kalbi– also thinly sliced, and it’s already marinaded with their house sauce, so you can eat it as it. I love to put some wasabi on it, it gives it a nice kick! *Choice of prawns, scallops or beef intestines– I’ve tried all of it and though the prawns was the best! Super buttery with a nice kick of garlic! No dipping sauce needed for this dish! Lastly, comes with a choice of ice cream. Green tea is must for me! Very light and creamy! They also bring you a cup of hot green tea to help you digest after all that meat! One good thing about it is that you don’t feel heavy after eating here, like most Yakiniku places. AND, you don’t smell like Yakiniku after either! So thumbs up for that! As far as service, they’re very attentive and makes sure you get everything you need! Always checking up on you, and changes out your grill before it starts to burn up! I’m here once a month, and it’s seriously so addicting! My sister can’t stop talking about their Kim Chee too!

Expensive but worth the cost. Follow the recommendation of your server and you will be happy. If you are a quantity over quality eater you may have some issues with portion size but if you are a foodie type you will absolutely love this place. Great flavors exploding in every dish. Try the spicy soup with your meal. Plan on spending over 100 bucks for two people(120 – 180) and tip accordingly. The service is excellent. Take your time. This is an event. Go here with people you can have a good time with. I would recommend this as a second/third date place if you are really into each other or a place that you would take your best friends.

Got the platinum dinner which was about 3 cuts of beef(2 which were waygu) and one course of scallops. The meat was delicious and practically melted in your mouth. The service was excellent and the staff assisted with cooking the food. As someone that lives in Los Angeles and has K Town right down the street, this place is right there with them. It is not all you can eat, but you’re paying for quality not quantity when dining here. I would definitely come back.

We got the platinum dinner and it was delicious. Good quality meat and great service! Also got the lychee soju, which was good as well. The beef tongue was ridiculous. Practically melted in my mouth. Try not to eat too fast like I did, b/c after the second plate of beef came around I was fairly stuffed… but don’t worry I kept on trucking like a trooper. Let’s be honest I’m having a great time right now and probably pretty tossed as I write this review.

Yakiniku for the real meat enthusiasts. I love to grill my own meat. I love steak. Medium rare for great cuts, medium for okay cuts, and medium well for crappy cuts of meat. When it comes to yakiniku I’ve been to many places that marinate okay to crappy cuts of meat. Hiroshi is a cut above the rest. I went with two of my friends and we got the gold course: Beef tongue, prime rib eye, skirt steak, kobe bara, and garlic shrimp. We don’t care for shrimp, so we asked for more meat instead. There are a couple sides that come with the meal, rice, roasted garlic, kimchee, salad, seaweed, and dessert. There are three sauces for the different meats, ponzu, sweet shoyu, and lemon sauce. All the meats are delicious. All are top notch! The restaurant is actually upstairs and the tables are spaced far apart, so you won’t be placed super awkwardly close to strangers. *cough* sweet home café The service was attentive. The restaurant is small, so it would be easy to get attention from the staff if you need anything. The experience and food are great, but it all comes at a high price. This might be a deal breaker to some, but for what you get, it’s worth it.

Do not go here, it’s over-priced and the food is only ok, not excellent or anything. We only ordered two plates of meat, one side dish, one bowl of rice and it’s over $ 80. I didn’t even remember what I ate since the meat was so little, maybe 6 small, thin slides of meat. Save your money and go somewhere else !

Dont come here. Its a trap. You will spend over 300 for 2 people without drinks. And you will leave hungry. The meat its self is great. The sides and dessert are just fillers, that dont even fill. I felt so ripped off after eating here. I will never come back. Its just not worth it. In order for me to feel like this was worth it, they would have had to add 2 more orders of meat. My meal(the most expensive option) only came with two orders of beef, and 1 order of pork. This was the biggest rip off ever. Calling this beef they served us «wagyu» cannot justify.

Delicious, Expensive, and worth it. My bf was hungry in an hour but the quality of meat was really good. I suggest getting the premier meat combo. We had 4 people and I don’t eat very much so we got 2 of the premier which was like $ 180-ish each and we added the meat we liked best from the combo. If you are dining with people who can eat, this place can easily cost $ 250 per person without alcohol. Will I go again? Heck yeah. I love quality food. the meat melted in my mouth. My favorite was the Japanese wagyu and toro kobe beef(it reminded me of a beef version of bacon). Sooooooo Goood…

What can I really say that hasn’t been said already? I had really high expectations for this place… And I have to say I am a very satisfied customer. My belly is happy, not so much my wallet. But hey, great food so well worth the money. We got the Platinum Course. Wanted to try a little bit of everything. And that was just enough food for the two of us. Don’t get confused like I did, though. Whatever that’s listed is all you get. You don’t get double because there is a minimum order of 2. So you’ll pay for 2 orders, at the very least. The meats were all so buttery and just melted in my mouth. So good! The establishment itself is tucked away on Royal Hawaiian Ave. Really small, so keep your eyes open for the sign. Parking is at the Waikiki Trade Center. They’ll validate for two hours. But who eats Yakiniku in two hours? I went over the parking time limit but the gentleman at the hostess stand kindly validated for another hour. The staff was very knowledgable. Very friendly. And very attentive. I would definitely come back. Definitely.

First time ever at Hiroshi’s in Waikiki yesterday night. It was ridiculously good. The boyfriend had made reservations and there was no wait when we got there. Parking was found in the Waikiki Shopping Plaza which is a flat rate $ 5 cash from 6pm-3am, which is pretty reasonable for the Waikiki area! It’s also really close to Hiroshi’s just a short walk. The food: amazing! The meat was nice a tender, and very fresh. You definitely get what you pay for. The roasted garlic is a must, it is so nicely done, the chef explained that it is deep fried at very high temperatures and then seasoned with special ingredients ;) tasty! After your meal, hot tea is offered and some ice cream puffs, chocolate covered and original! Twas the cherry on top. At Yakiniku Hiroshi it is definitely quality over quantity. After eating at Hiroshi’s it will be more difficult to enjoy Yakiniku else where! Definitely a hidden gem in Waikiki and a must-try!

In the words of Anthony Bourdain, «look a little deeper, right under the surface, a few steps back or off to the side…» Waikiki reveals it’s hidden treasures. In this case, a sleazy side street with rip-off currency exchangers and cheesy trinket stalls. The bright red noren the only hint. A hostess stand seeming out of place, then down a, graffiti covered concrete hall, up a smelly staircase with handrails you shouldn’t touch, your path blocked by broken chairs forcing you into the only opening then… Yakiniku Hiroshi. A modern dining room with stainless steel juxtaposed with dark wood. The hedonistic smell of cooking beef perfumes the air. Make no mistake, Yakiniku Hiroshi serves the BEST beef in Hawaii. Quality comes at a price. Budget at least $ 150pp without alcohol. Sets or Ala Cartel. Two sets(Gold — USDA Prime and Platinum — Japanese Wagyu A3 — A5). Sets come with starters, veg, 3oz portions of various meats and seafood. $ 60, $ 130 respectively. Two orders minimum. PASS. To sample the different flavors of the beef, order ala carte. Ask your servers advice. Many cuts and grades are off the menu. For starters, do not pass the«Asian» tartare. USDA prime tenderloin, finely diced and mixed with a sweetened soy sauce, topped with an egg yolk. Mix it together and enjoy with the julienne apple and celery. The mineral flavor of the beef explodes when combined with the earthy soy. All cuts are offered either as Japanese A3 — A5 or USDA Prime. Rib eye(A5) — As a boneless steak($ 160mp /6oz), thin sliced($ 60mp /3oz) Sublime alone, even better with fried garlic and a touch of soy ponzu sauce. Extremely sweet beef flavor, uncooked fat melts on the tongue. No cloying finish. Kalbi(A3 /A4) — Two different cuts, select marinated or salt. Cook immediately to prevent the blood being drawn from the cuts. Three to four second cooking time. Sublime beef flavor. The marinade is a simple light soy and mirin and greatly accentuates the sweetness of the beef. Clean finish. Tongue(premium grade) — Greater fat content. Salt then finished with a citrus lemon based sauce. Beefy, chewy, sweet in all the right ways. Clean finish. Plates come garnished with a few veg. Order ala carte if you feel you need to. Excellent, very knowledgeable service. Servers fluent in English and Japanese. Grills changed regularly. Small but very well chosen wine list with low markups. Some beer and shochu but it’s not their thing. Tip: The Japanese A5 grades are very high in fat. 6oz can easily fill you up. Share. Tokyo up a hidden staircase. Who would have thought.

WOW! my new favorite place to eat Japanese bbq. I really wish they had this quality of meat in OC. all the meat were sooo tender! the waiter said they don’t always have the thicker cut tongue so ask the waiter if they have it! it’s also not on the menu. this was really good! I really have nothing else to say about this place besides it’s one of my favorite restaurant of all time!

Yakiniku Hiroshi is a great fun atmosphere and the best quality of meat! The apple salad is sooo delicious and refreshing! The yukke is my ultimate fav with apple slices and a raw egg on top of raw minced beef. Then the toro kalbi marinated I can eat 4 orders in 20 minutes. The rice is top notch quality rice and the kimchee is really good too. I love dining here and can’t wait to come back here in the near future!
