One time I went to this restaurant when I was younger and there was a bug in my Ramen so I told the employee that there was and she didn’t apologize and took my ramen to the kitchen and after 5 min in the kitchen it came out still the server didn’t say anything this whole time after I took the first bite of the ramen the kitchen employee starting laughing and I felt like they definitely put something in my ramen so I hate that place and there not Japanese at all they’re definitely Chinese just with a Japanese name of the restaurant so I want to give 0 stars out of 5 if I could

Worst restaurant in Hawaii Kai. They trying to portray Japanese restaurant but it’s run by rude Chinese people! I would give zero star if I could! Amazingly they are still open for business.

the ol’ Chinese yin-yang principle has an application here. with so many new restaurants opening up in this town, there’s gotta be many restaurants dying & likely to close sooner rather than later. TNH’s volume of business is so small, FOODFRESHNESS must be in jeopardy. their walls are covered with photos of their dishes — very tacky looking, very hoi poloi. to me, the straw that breaks the camel’s back is their sign outside, up high — just awful, faded, old, just like the parking lot fronting Longs. how much longer can customers put up with such shabbiness? hopefully, shopping center management has good things(new tenants) lined up for the near future, but don’t hold your breath. the competition is brutal! vote with your feet for now.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. We went in here after some water sports starving. I’m usually religiously looking up places to eat on Unilocal based on their rating, but this is the first time I’ve gone into a restaurant without checking it on Unilocal. When we first walked in it seemed a little dingy, but I wanted to give it a try because i felt like it would be rude to walk out. We ordered the mini katsu combo, shrimp fried rice, and chicken curry. My mother didn’t like the chicken curry so decided to munch on the shrimp fried rice. As my cousin was eating the fried rice she pulls out a strand of black hair from her spoon. She tells the waiter and to my surprise(and anger??) the waiter seemed completely unfazed by my little cousins discovery. All she asked was where she found it and if she wanted a new bowl. I would at least expect an apology. We decided to leave then. At least they gave us a discount.

All you got to know is that it’s A LOT of carbs… I was at the dive shop next door and needed a meal in between so I headed over. Don’t bother with the menu. Instead use the pictures of the wall — far more descriptive and helpful, honest. I had the Shoyu Ramen(Ramen is in it’s actual store front name) and I got it combo-ed. So I got gyoza(which were actually very good) and fried rice. It was very salty and you know how sensitive I am on that. I like to be able to taste the actual flavours, not just the salt. To be honest, I’d just order a ton of gyoza next time. Skip the noodles and skip the rice. Also, the store front is a bit lacking. They also don’t have outdoor seating. Staff is really friendly though. The food is fast and they do fast take out as well. If you are loitering(I was because I was waiting), they didn’t rush you, which I really appreciated!

Empty on a Wednesday night. Prices seem way higher. If my parents didn’t want to come here I would go to Ramen Ya the next shopping area over. Fried rice is good but not the portion for the price.

Food was very good. Good portions. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend it. The store front is not pretty but the food is definitely worth trying. We had chicken fried rice, chicken ramon, and kimki fried rice.

Driving around after going to the dog park looking for some take out with my mom, we decided to give the Tokyo noodle house a try. Rainy day and only one other customer inside… Yet the other food establishments around had more customers, still, my mom wanted ramen and gyoza. I got the keiki wonton soup with 2 fried shrimp($ 6) and my mom got the shoyu ramen, gyoza and fried rice combo($ 12). There was about 4 wontons in my soup. They were ok; nothing special. The soup was dull & watery? Not even sure how to describe bland soup… My mom said her ramen & gyoza were just ok. About on par with the ramen we get from Costco but with a slice of fish cake. My overall impression– though the service was quick, for a $ 6 keiki meal, I myself would have been happier crossing the street to go to McDonalds… Could have saved $ 2, got a happy meal, which would have also gotten me a drink and a hello kitty toy and 3 food items vice 2.

Really overpriced and not tasty. I ordered the ramen/shrimp tempura combo: The ramen was super bland… getting a packet of Top Ramen and cooking it at home would’ve been a better choice. The 2 pieces of «tempura» were SUPER greasy, doughy, and clearly were defrosted in a microwave. The gyoza was inedible. The fried rice was the best part. A little dry, but definitely the highlight of the meal… pretty disappointing since I thought I’d be enjoying a delicious bowl of ramen. And this nearly inedible meal cost $ 14.50 before tax… not cool.

Don’t have much to say so will keep it short as my daughter ordered from here, not me(though I did try and eat her left overs). Got the oyster sauce chicken, was God awful. Tasted like two day old over roasted chicken that was nuked with some way to oily stir fried mush they call vegetables over rice swimming in what seemed like an entire bottle of oyster sauce. I tried their ramen two or three ago’s also but from what I remember wasn’t much better than instant ramen. Will not repeat.

Portions are really large, which explains the price. I ordered the mapo tofu ramen and it didn’t have any flavor… I also tried my friend’s chicken katsu curry and it wasn’t great. The combos seem like a good deal but the flavor and taste of the food was definitely mediocre or worse.

They have noodles. Not sure what Tokyo has to do with anything served here because the quality nor taste is anything reminiscent. Too much salt and not enough flavor.

Came in today on a whim to buy some dinner to go. My sister and I both ordered the curry ramen combo. Being a take out order, I didn’t get the whole dine in experience, but I did notice the place wasn’t very well maintained. A few workers were just sitting around since the place was empty, but jeez, the place could use some cleaning. In addition they had a few posters up from events that passed months ago. However the woman who took our order was very polite and updated me as the order was bring completed. On to the food. The combos come with fried rice and gyoza along with the ramen. The fried rice was alright, nothing fabulous but not awful not dry but a little oily. I did like the gyoza and the sauce provided. The gyoza was nice and hot when I opened it at home and the sauce was just the right amount of sweet. However the ramen didn’t do it for me. The curry broth was globby at the bottom when I mixed it into the noodles. The noodles themselves werent impressive, kind of like the kind you buy from Costco. THEYDEFINITELYCOULDPROVIDEMORENOODLESINTHECOMBOS. The ramen comes in a standard take out bowl but only filled about a fourth of the way with noodles, a single piece of fish cake and a single piece of char siu. Really disappointed when I finished it in 4 bites. Perhaps Sumo Ramen has spoiled me with their portions, but I paid 11 dollars for the combo at Tokyo Noodle House and 10 at Sumo. Please clean up the place and provide more noodles in the combos and perhaps a little less oil in the fried rice and I’d come back

I came here on the advice of friend. He said to get the shrimp fried rice, but I don’t like shrimp. :P So I got chicken katsu curry and gyoza. It was very good and in very good portion. Some lady came in and ordered something that wasnt on the menu, kim-chee fried rice. Now that I know that, I may come back and try it! Place is pretty dirty and such a dive when it could be so nice if just kept clean and tidy.

Seeing as I grew up in Hawaii Kai, I remember the days when I used to beg my parents to take me to Tokyo Noodle House(mainly as an excuse to go to the petstore next door so I could cry and sucker them into buying me a puppy… which totally worked.) Back then, the ownership was different I believe. The cook used to make a meaaaaaan seafood ramen. I mean I guess the seafood ramen now is okay too. My mom and dad both had a bowl while we reminisced about the good old days. My mom’s bowl was too salty… and my dad’s was too bland that he threw in handfuls of salt, pepper, and shichimi. I ordered the chicken katsu curry, which is what I’ve been ordering for the past 16 years or so. The curry was ridiculously sweet. You know how you have to drink water after eating ice cream to wash that sweetness down? Yeah, it was that sweet. I had to scrape the curry off the katsu just to eat it. The katsu itself was okay, I don’t really think you could mess that up too badly. I didn’t like that the curry was all over my rice since I basically had to pick out sections of the rice that wasn’t drowning in overly sweet curry. Now the REAL reason for the 1 star; I would give 0 if I could. This place is disgustingly dirty now. What happened!!! The back door is supposed to be white but it’s covered in dirt and grime… and mold? It’s turning black and made me want to stay away so I didn’t accidentally inhale something shady. The tables and chairs are sticky. I tried my best not to touch any surfaces and even sat at the very edge of my chair. Do you people not wipe your tables or your chairs? Ew. I really just think a make over for this place is long overdue. I mean, this used to be my favorite restaurant when I was a weee little lad. Now… not so much. I also had an awful stomach ache about an hour later. My parents came out to run some errands but we ended up booking it home because my stomach was not having it. There’s no proof that it was because of what I ate… but usually when this happens I tend to shy away and never return. Eek! methinks not is correct.

Located in the hawaii kai towne ctr next to long’s. Parking lot can get busy with people who on errands. The food was ok. Curry was a little too sweet but ramen soup was great. Gyoza weren’t very remarkable. I got the mini katsu rsnen combo for 1150 and thought the food was appropriate for the price. With l&l next door you might not find much difference. The person who took my order had long nails which were touching my empty plates. Never saw any of my food touch her nails but it’s still gross and unhygienic-esp for a food establishment…

Located in the Hawaii Kai shopping center near Longs and neighboring Bale, this place is a somewhat divey eatery, not one would expect to see in Hawaii Kai. No a/c, hack job menus plastered on the windows, sticky tables… But It does its job in feeding you(portions for fried noodles are huge.) I’m a fan of the beef broccoli fried noodles – its really greasy spoon, with its beef broccoli sauteed dark gravy over crispy noodles. I don’t eat anything else. Pretty cheap, $ 8.50 for the large plate(lunch for tomorrow.) Lady in the front is friendly, but may seem brash because of a language barrier. I don’t think anyone in food service should have nails that long, though.

Please don’t be eating while reading this review. Wife and I came here before shopping at Costco to avoid shopping on an empty stomach. That could be dangerous. We ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry. It was okay, nothing special. Kinda bland and flavorless. I went to use the restroom. Did my business and noticed a cryptic sign on the door that said CUSTOMERSDON’T PUTPAPERINTHETOILET. Is it broken English meaning paper towels, or ALL paper products? The restaurant is located right on top of the marina and I don’t want to kill any fishes. After I moment of panic, I had to make a decision. I’m not going to tell you exactly what I did, but let’s say I took the environmental approach to disposal. Wife and I got the hell out of there pronto. It’s not easy being green.

Usually come here when I don’t know where else to eat in Kapolei. It’s not amazing nor is it terrible, nothing special… it’s just like what the 3 stars suggest, A-OK. The prices are good, combo meals for $ 9.99, usually comes with either ramen/curry, some type of fried rice and gyoza. I can never finish it! Every time I come in here it’s pretty empty… ambiance is boring, the food is just… boring. Don’t be fooled by the name of the place either. To me, it just seems like a Chinese restaurant disguising itself as a Japanese restaurant. I don’t know why but the name of the place made my expectations higher than it needed to be. Man, writing this review is boring me.
