No. This is not a Tiki Bar. This is a bar called Tiki Town and you need to make sure you understand that difference. La Mariana is a Tiki Bar… so you can see why I was sadly disappointed. Still, my friend thought this would be a «fun spot to try» while wandering Waikiki. Once inside I realized the mistake we made but we had to have at least one drink here before leaving, so I stuck to a bottled beer and paid in cash. If you’re interested in people watching and having your mind slightly blown at how this place can remain in business when so many things are wrong, well, you might enjoy yourself here.

Tiki Town had an interesting atmosphere. Tucked away in the middle of an outdoor market that made me feel a bit like I was back in Spain, this is obviously a breakdown bar made of temporary walls and it has no ceiling… What drew us in initially was the sign for Mai Tais costing only 3.95. What a deal! Unfortunately this was the only reasonably priced drink on the menu and was not as strong as I would have liked. All the drinks we ordered were phenomenal, but the waitresses do not allow any patron to have more than one beverage at once, and would stand next to you while you finished the last sips of the drink prior. It was a little irritating because I am the type of girl who likes to double fist from time to time. I later discovered this is Hawaii state law, but some places apparently don’t take it so seriously. I forgive you, Tiki Town. Thanks for being so responsible! The only food we ordered were the wings. Now, I am not quite sure what sort of sauce is on these, but it is not a typical wing sauce. They were sweet and a little soggy and were not served with any sauce. Not my favorite meal of ever. The really high point of this bar was the live music. Michael Ray. Is. Amazingly. Awesome. His voice floats through the air like fluffy clouds of fabulous tickling my ear drum. I am not sure why this man is not famous. He should come to my house and sing me to sleep every night. This is the only reason why this place got four stars; otherwise it would have received a measly two.

The first time I visited Tiki Town I was less than impressed. This was mainly because I went there expecting to have a great meal. However, food is not their strong point. The reason why I up’d the star level is mainly due to the $ 4 Mai Tais. This isn’t just a «Happy Hour» deal with random and inconvenient times. This is an everyday, all day long type of deal. On Waikiki you are hard pressed to find any beverage under $ 10. The other strong point regarding the Mai Tais are the taste. Again, with the cheap price, I expected them to taste accordingly. I was pleasantly surprised! They were delicious! Now regarding entertainment, that can be hit or miss. The first time we went was on a Sunday. The band consisting of a guy and a girl left much to be desired. However, we had a GREAT time on Friday with Mr. Ray! He performs on Wed and Fridays. Most of his selections are old school R and B. There was a small space for dancing and he really gets the crowd going. In summary, don’t go for the food, the Mai Tais are great and some of the cheapest in Waikiki. If you are looking for fun with friends make sure to go on a Wednesday or Friday between 5 – 6:30 or 7:30 til close!

This is a new bar located in the International Market Place. RIGHTNEXT to the food court. It looks kinda cheesy, but I think thats what the intent was. Its an open bar area… which is cool. I went in after work to grab a drink. Its one of the few places that carry Aloha Beer on draft. The Kona Red is awesome. As for food, I ordered the chicken wings($ 11 for 8 pieces)…it came with a so-called«hot sauce» but it was not hot at all. The sauce, I believe, is mustard with something added to give it a little spice. The temperature came out PIPING hot… watch your fingers! Other than that, the people that were working were awesome and friendly. By the looks of it, seemed like the Chinese lady owns it. She says its their first location«for now». See pictures for the menu of food. This is also one of those places that sell drinks in coconuts and pineapples. Watch out though, cause they are pricey. I think they were around $ 12-$ 14. And being a bartender, thats expensive especially for the amount of alcohol that I saw them putting in there. But its still laid back and a cool place to go to have a drink after work! I think they could be REALLY busy if they offer some type of happy hour. That would definitely attract business!

My first night in Oahu and it was here that we went to have our drinks. Amazing place. String of lights surrounds this place. It is a friendly place. Waiters can bring you drinks to your table. You don’t have to get up if you don’t want to. However, I think it is hit or miss with the service. I don’t remember what drink I ordered but it was strong and I liked it. This is a small open place in the middle of the International Market, I believe. I can’t speak for the food because we did not order any. The drinks we ordered was strong and expensive but what do you expect in Waikiki. I was overall very happy with the place.
