Sweet or savory pies. I chose savory. Their Croquette Pie was delicious. I just wish it had more meat in it. They are a regular at the Makiki farmer’s market by the Makiki park on Thursdays from 5 to 7pm.

I have only tried three different pies because I am stuck on my favorite, the Dark Side. It is a vegetable quiche that is light, fluffy and flavorful with a sprinkling of crunchy cornmeal on top. The crust is always perfectly buttery and crisp and totally enhances the pie experience.

Sweet Revenge has the yummiest pies and I’ve been a customer for years. Found at farmer’s markets and Eat the Street events, they offer both savory and sweet individual-sized pies made with local ingredients for $ 8 each. I got a chance to go to the farmer’s market at Queen’s Medical Center(available on the first Wednesday of the month) and grab some pies with a couple of my coworkers. The owner of Sweet Revenge, Kathy, is a really sweet person and was running the booth by herself today. On this day her savory pies were her signature chicken pot pie, turkey dinner pot pie, darkside(which is a vegetarian pot pie) and a quiche pie. For her dessert pies, she had blueberry, pumpkin crunch, black bottom banana, lilimansi(lilikoi + key lime), twix, chocolate haupia and a couple more. All looked oh so delicious and for the dessert ones with cream and toppings, Kathy applied the cream and toppings to order. So what my coworkers and I got today: 1. Chicken pot pie — I think this is one of her signature dishes, and she’ll usually have this available. The crust of the pot pie is flaky and just perfect. The inside had chunks of chicken, carrots, and peas with gravy. Overall this pot pie is super satisfying and filling. 2. Pumpkin crunch pie — topped with whipped cream and what tasted like a butter cookie and walnut crumble that gave each bite the perfect crunch, the pie was delicious. The pumpkin mousse was light with just the right amount of pumpkin spice and the crust was flaky and crisp. 3. Lilimansi pie — a combination of a key lime and lilikoi pie, my coworker got this and said that it was pretty tart but yummy. Just topped with whip cream. They didn’t have these today but I’ve also tried Sweet Revenge’s Banana Foster pie and I think their Lilikoi Chiffon pie. From what I remember, their lilikoi chiffon pie was light and airy but had great lilikoi flavor, while the banana foster pie had chunks of banana. If you haven’t tried this place yet, check it out. I also found out today that Sweet Revenge makes deliveries on Wednesdays so long as orders are placed by a certain time on Tuesdays. Definitely need to get the details on that and add that to a later review!

Ok, wow, their chicken pot pie is out of this world. Super delicious! The crust is perfectly prepared and cooked and the pie has the perfect amount of chicken. Our office did delivery, and the pies arrived warm and fresh. Now I can see why there is always a line when I see these folks at farmers markets.

Yum this place is delicious !! I got a darkside pie and a blueberry pie and they were so yummy! The blueberry pie was so tasty and fresh. Loved it! Went today to their tent at Queens Medical center. It was easy to find and there were a few other tents to eat at as well. They had over 10 different pies to try and they all looked delicious. Make sure to bring cash because they just got a new credit card machine and it was not working when I tried earlier. Also the woman who was working here was super nice!

Savory pies are awesome! I love her chix pot pie. She is at most open markets. Follow her on twitter and she will Give you the 411 on her whereabouts and menu. I didn’t care so much for dessert pies but that is just me. You might just like it so you should try it. Her chix pot pie is a winnah!

Pies from a food truck??? Who would’ve known! I’m usually not a huge fan of pies, but Sweet Revenge has totally changed my taste buds!!! First off, I love that they are individual serving sizes(although my family and I like to get different ones and share). The flavor selections range from savory to sweet to even a spicy & sweet pie. For savory pies, I love the Chicken Pot Pie and the Quiche w/Bacon, Gruyère Cheese, Broccoli, and mushrooms. The pot pie has huge chunks of chicken and and the quiche is the perfect combination of ingredients(anything with bacon has me sold lol). For sweet pies, I like the strawberry lychee pie and pumpkin crunch. Both are awesome! But, the flavor that totally had my mind confused at first then had my taste buds singing was the Banana Ghost Pepper Pie. Like woah!!! It had everything you’d love about a banana cream pie, with a surprising spicy note. I was pleasantly surprised. Kathy creates such masterpieces with her buttery, flaky crusts and unique/flavorful fillings. If I am near her truck, you’ll almost always see me there.

Sweet Revenge offers pies that use the freshest of ingredients and local produce. Given the season at hand, you never know what to expect. Lilikoi one day, mountain apples the next. It’s always worth a stop on the circuit of Kapiolani Community College. And Kathy is so happy to please. Thank you for the biscuit for my dog! I am not usually a pie fan but I make an exception for Sweet Revenge pies. At $ 8 a pie it’s always a special treat!

The reason why I seek out this lady is CHICKENPOTPIE! So here’s the story of this love affair with pie. It was a rainy Saturday morning at KCC and we had to drop our daughter off for a Science Fair at KCC when we decided hey let’s check out the Farmer’s Market. Oh my goodness that place is bumping with tourist so I don’t think I would go there again. But my husband loves chicken pot pies and I don’t so hence that we never have that on our dinner table but he really wanted to try one and it looked good so we got two pies. We got a quiche and a chicken pot pie. I love the quiche! And the crust was so flakey! But then I tried the Pot Pie and it was heaven in my mouth. I have never had a homemade pot pie before and if this is what a pot pie should be then I need this in my life! We spoke to the lady that runs the stand and she said she is also located at the UH Medical School in Kakaako so one day we made our way down there. It actually is way better than the Farmer’s Market and we don’t have to make our way through a sea of tourist. She is located in their cafeteria in the middle of campus. I have to say this is the only place you will find what a pot pie should be like. The only my husband and I wish would be more gravy. We thinking maybe more gravy on the side would be an option for people like us who drown our food in goodness. The chicken is not dry at all we just like gravy that much. What can I say but I want a pot pie now! Stupid cravings

They don’t have all the pies on the menu, only daily specials. Also had a hard time finding. When i called them, the workers did not have a clue what was going on. They did not know how to explain directions to their shop lol. Dizzy dizzy and dizzy!

Tried the quiche of the day today(bacon, gruyère, spinach, baby bellas). The quiche was still warm and had a nice buttery crust, but the filling was a bit on the soft side, like warm custard. I still look forward to trying her other pies each time I see her. She comes up with so many unique and fun pies.

I’ve been eating the pies from Sweet Revenge for years following them around at their different pop-up. They used to be $ 6 a pie, but prices have crept up and now are $ 8. Still an okay deal considering you would pay $ 8+ for dinner and not get something as good as their Chicken Pot Pie, Quiche, or Croquette Pie. The sweet pies are creative and fun, and change with the mood and season. Think Fresh Mango, Tiramisu, Red Velvet, Thai Ice Tea, Lava Flow, Pumpkin Spice, Fresh Strawberry-Chocolate and so many more. The crusts are light and flaky, the fillings are not too sweet and have a good balance of flavors and textures. These pies are small, individual servings. My suggestion if you are going to make a full meal, is everyone gets their own savory pie and then depending on how hungry you are, everyone gets a sweet pie too – or two!(Haha, no judgement)

Sweet Revenge sounds like something you would want against an ex or your worst enemy. But that’s not the case here because everyone should want a taste of Sweet Revenge…‘s PIESPIESPIES. They’re known as a food truck that frequented Eat The Street, but I just recently found out they also started selling their stuff in Kaka’ako. SAYWHAT. I’m late about these kinds of things.esp. since the only time I ever tried their pies was due to an email I got at work. Apparently for this past Valentine’s Day, Sweet Revenge had a special menu for that occasion and was taking bulk orders AND they were delivering. So of course I took advantage of this opportunity. First thing I noticed was that the pies were $ 8 each. That’s pretty pricey, esp. when you see the size of em. They are super small. but in a cute way(?) So, if you’re planning on getting one of these pies for your family, you better get like 5, cause one pie is only enough for yourself. The different pies I could choose from are as follows: CHICKENPOTPIE BEEFCHILEPOTPIE QUICHE DARKSIDE(VEGETARIANQUICHE) TIRAMISU VANILLABEANCUSTARD CHOCOLATESPLOSION Now, I don’t know about you… but to me, a pie is a dessert. I don’t want no healthy vegetarian pie with quinoa, kale, artichoke, spinach, etc LOL. I opted for the Tiramisu and ITWASAMAZING. It was a vanilla cake soaked in espresso and consisted of rum and cheese filling in a butter crust. Mhmmmm so yummy. It also had grated bittersweet chocolate on top with whipped cream all around the crust. Definitely my favorite ever. I also heard good things about the Chicken Pot Pie and Chocolate Splosion. Might try those next time. I’m so glad I know about Sweet Revenge now.

Lines for food trucks can get pretty long at Eat the Street, so you’ve gotta know what’s worth standing in line for. Let me tell you, Sweet Revenge is something you don’t want to miss. They’re not hard to spot — just look for the pink truck! The pies there are small, but deep. At $ 8 a pop the price may scare off first-time buyers, but I’m here to tell you that they’re worth the money. What they lack in size they make up in rich flavors that leave you feeling stuffed. Every pie I’ve tried from Sweet Revenge has been delicious. They have something for everyone — whether you’re looking for a quick savory meal or something sweet to finish off your rounds at Eat the Street. Their Chicken pot pie even made Honolulu Magazine’s top 100 dishes! I most recently tried the S’mores pie. It’s topped with a layer of fluffy marshmallow, similar to the way a lemon meringue pie is. Right after I ordered, they took my pie out of a cooler and brought it over to a station where they roasted the marshmallows with a blow torch! Gotta love those finishing touches. Every time I see the truck at Eat the Street, I also see Kathy — the owner. She’s right out there in the trenches, bagging pies and greeting customers with a smile. I love seeing their creative menu grow and change! So what are you waiting for? Stop by and pick up a pie! You won’t be disappointed. Aside from Eat the Street, you can also find them at the KCC Farmer’s Market on Saturdays.

They are at the new med school cafeteria in Kakaako. Go there now. Yes, just go. Are you there yet? You want to eat lunch? Get the chicken pot pie. Don’t think about it. Just get it. Life changing. You want dessert? Get every single pie shaped dessert pie. Just get them all. You can finish the rest later, they will keep in the fridge. Don’t feel bad, it’s ok to look like a glutton there. You cannot go wrong here. Seriously, it is that good. And it is so reasonably priced too! Dammit I want to go there tomorrow now…

Um, the Neapolitan pie is freaking amazing! My friend gifted me this pie sent from heaven, she purchased at the Makiki farmers market. I have seriously never devoured a one person pie that quickly. I would say the size is similar to the size of a pot pie. Pretty full of deliciousness, though. I am so impressed and I hope to try some other flavors soon, they look so good!

Sweet Revenge is no longer just a food truck or farmers market stall! They just recently started selling out of Café Waiola, the cafeteria space at JABSOM(John A. Burns School of Medicine) in Kaka’ako! You know what that means? Pie EVERYDAY! It’s like a dream come true! Farmers Markets(FM): Kathy, the owner & awesome creator of these delicious personal sized pies, says that they’ll still be at the Blaisdell & Makiki FMs every week. Gotta take care of those regular supporters! Parking: For Makiki FM — street parking only… cross your fingers & say a little prayer. For Blaisdell FM — parking in the structure is free if you tell you’re going to the FM. For JABSOM — metered street parking anywhere along the building; $ 0.25/20min. Cost: $ 8 per pie. Price of quality pie has gone up since I met Kathy about a year and a half ago, but it’s worth the quality ingredients & love & care she puts into them. New additions since she opened at JABSOM include $ 10 combo meals(pie, drink & salad), $ 3 bags of varying types of cookies, pitaya bowls & smoothies($ 9.50& $ 6.50, respectively), & a variety of beverages( ). PIES: She makes both savory & sweet pies, so if you have a hard time deciding, just get both. You’ll enjoy them [both], promise! I’ve had SOOOOO many kinds of her pies over the last year and a half, and it’s kind of ridiculous how many varieties she can come up with! She always uses as many local fruits & ingredients as she can get her hands on, so a lot of her dessert pies are made w/seasonal fruits(good stuff)! Fave ones that I can remember include but are not limited to: Thai Chicken — it’s like panang curry in a pie, it’s AWESOME French Onion«Soup» — served w/a side of garlic focaccia; it’s seriously like soup… but in a pie form C5 — Chocolate x5 made w/chocolate crust, 3 kinds of chocolate layers(dark, milk, white), & topped w/chocolate ganache Elvis — I have a thing for peanut butter, banana & chocolate, so this rocks my socks So go find out for yourself! Buy yourself some pie & go nom in a corner because you won’t want to share it… I don’t like sharing… unless I’m too full(they’re surprisingly filling for being so small). So don’t ask me to share because I’ll just stare at you oddly. ^_^ Yay pie!

I am so happy that this is one of the new vendors in JABSOM’s cafeteria! It’s about time there was a good lunch option down there. The pies may be $ 8 now, but they’re still as delicious as ever. Since my last review, I’ve been able to try a lot more and recommend the Japanese curry, French onion soup, darkside quiche(hint: if you like quinoa you’ll love this), and pumpkin custard, all of which were amazing. I realized that what I just mentioned sounds like actual food dishes, but these are pies I’m talking about! With the absolute best buttery crust. You can get a combo $ 10 for pie plus salad and a small drink! They take card now but it’s minimum $ 10 charge. If you pay cash, you may get a cookie(literally) and can I say whatever pecan crunch cookie I had was to die for. It was so crunchy and not too sweet… Although, I wonder how much butter was in it. Who thinks about that stuff right!!! Hehe. They also seem to have smoothies and pitaya bowls as well! I’m glad to see the business expanding.

FINALLY, got to try Sweet Revenge at the Honolulu Farmer’s Market on the lawn around the NBC Concert Hall on Wednesday night! Only got to try the orange/lilikoi pie and the banana/chocolate pie. Both good, but the custards were a little light and bland for my taste. I prefer rich and creamy egg custards. I’m going to try their savory pies the next time; that may be my true calling! GREAT customer service as they offered to hold my pies for me while I walked the Farmer’s Market and enjoyed other goodies!

Whenever I’m at Eat The Street, I always tell myself«Ok, go eat dinner at another truck and come back to Sweet Revenge for dessert.» And then what happens? By the time I return to Sweet Revenge, they’re sold out. Sweet Revenge is popular and for good reason, too! Bananas foster pie — sugary pie top, warm bananas and caramel. Awesome. Bacon mac and cheese pie — do I really need to say more? Moist, cheesy, bacon filled goodness. Chicken pot pie(no celery!) — delicious. Amazing crust. juicy chicken meat. Great flavor. Sweet Revenge is SWEET!

6.28.13. I have been DYINGGG to try SR pies ever since I discovered the lauding reviews via Unilocal… sadly I have not had a chance to make it down to the Thursday events in Makiki… Plus, I loved reading all of the reviews that told the story of this wonderful pie-lady! So inspiring :) …BUT I finally got my hands on a pie this evening at Eat the Street(Cheese)!! Perhaps I hyped this place up in my head too much, or maybe I just didn’t order the right thing… Of course at this cheese-themed ETS I had to try the Garlic Bacon Mac & Cheese pie. Sadly, I didn’t taste much garlic… the mac & cheese was delish, but it was a little heavy. The other pies displayed looked super delish – I am tempted to try the Grasshopper pie and I REALLY want to get my hands on a chicken pot pie… I know I’ll be back to try more; $ 7 a piece! Check out SR’s Instagram account for updates & sneak peeks! :) Unilocal 365 Challenge: #178/365

Alright, alright. I’ll admit it — I was intimidated by 2 things when I was at the Eat The Street Garlic — the long line and the price($ 7 for a pot pie!!!). However, I figured that there must be a reason why others are willing to wait in such a long line and pay the price, so I figured, «what harm is there in looking at the menu?» I saw the menu. All of their savory pies had GARLIC in it, then I saw a the bacon mac and cheese pot pie. I could practically hear a bell ringing in my head with a voice saying, «And…we have a winner!!!» Now, I had to wait in the 20-person deep line. The line moved quickly, so I think the wait was about 10 – 15 minutes. When I got to front, I ordered the garlic bacon mac and cheese, but trust me when I say that it was a hard choice to make. Then, I saw the dessert pies. Oh. Em. Gee. Now they looked delicious and I made a spontaneous decision to get one. I was torn between a lava flow, s’more, or a banana one(I did consider for a moment getting all three, but just imagining the calories and the hit on my wallet made me think twice). I ended up getting the s”mores — I figured, it can’t be too bad if it has graham cracker crust, chocolate, and toasted marshmallows. I ate the garlic bacon mac and cheese at Eat The Street. Boy, did I feel like I made the right choice! They had bacon pieces(not bits, but actual cut up pieces of bacon) in a creamy cheese sauce. The macaroni was very tender. The crust of the pie was very buttery and complimented the cheese sauce. My favorite part was the top — they had panko flakes baked on top, so it was super crispy and added the needed crunch to the dish. For a pie, it looked small, but it was a nice sized portion — it was about 4 – 5 inches in diameter and at least 1.5 inches deep. Definitely a heavy dish. I was only able to eat about half of it — if I didn’t eat other items at Eat The Street, I probably could eat the entire pie. The s’more pie was saved for dessert at a later time. I stored the s’more pie for a few hours in the fridge when I came home, but decided I needed to try it that night. My husband and I shared it. I toasted the pie for about 5 minutes to heat up the marshmallows. It was really good too! The crust was good; I’m pretty sure I could have eaten just the crust and be a happy camper. The middle was a good texture — it wasn’t like pudding, but had body to it and was surprisingly light, airy, and smooth. Even after toasting the pie, the middle was still chilled. The top was warm and had a nice brown color to it; when you order the pie, an employee will toast the marshmallows in front of you. I just added a bit more color to it by reheating the pie. I plan on going to some Eat The Street to get another of their pies(or possibly two).

Funny name, I thought, when I first heard about this place. Interested, I looked at the website to learn more. Such a cute/inspiring story! An independent woman divorced after 25 years of marriage, Kathy opens up her own business doing what she loves, baking(pies). I am totally one for GIRLPOWER! Eagerly wanting to support, I follow her company’s twitter account, which tweets her location and menu for the following day. I find that every Thursday, she’s at the Makiki Farmer’s Market. Since I live in the area, I check her out one fine Thursday. Twitter says that I can call/email an order to reserve my pies in case she runs out. I love how Sweet Revenge speaks to the modern technological world! I’ve only tried her bacon mac & cheese pie and her chicken pot pie. Both AMAZING!!! I am a total sucker for both mac & cheese and chicken pot pie. The bacon mac & cheese was rich, cheesy, with good bacon flavor. However, about halfway through the pie, it got a little too rich for me, if that’s even possible. Bacon mac and cheese pie: The chicken pot pie is a total winner. Probably the BEST I’ve ever had. The crust was flaky, the chicken was quality, and the flavor was delicious without being overly rich. The ratio of crust to filling was also PERFECT. I hate running out of crust/bread for chicken pot pies… because then it’s just like a stew… not a pie. Chicken pot pie: At $ 7 per pie, a delicious cheap dinner! GIRLPOWER!
