He’s moved over to «Mai Barber Shop» on 86 S. Kukui St. on the other side of the Pali Highway Safeway shopping center over there by where Bishop Street begins. He has a chair on consignment. His number is 429‑5890 and call to make an an appointment or to make sure he is there. He’s still serving up his magic and cutting well.

Decided to try this shop out as it’s right down the street from my home. As mentioned by Will L, it’s definitely an interesting place. The little Korean barber cuts hair well. As soon as I walked in, he took me to his wall of hairstyles and armed with a straightened out wire hanger, began to show me possible hairstyles. There were tons of styles, some from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, a few military cuts as well. I decided to just get a trim and keep my current style. He was very meticulous and took his time cutting my hair… that is until his wife and/or daughter called(multiple times) to let him know that they were outside waiting to go home. This is when he started to go a little quicker, however I still wound up with a decent haircut. My appointment was at 4pm and he said he was gonna be there until 5:30 so I was kinda irritated that he was rushing to go home… I guess we know who wears the pants in the relationship… The massage was nice, however felt rushed and seemed a little too short. I was going for another cut, but when I stopped by, he was not there… It seems like he makes his own hours and doesn’t really keep to his scheduled times… I searched Unilocal and saw good reviews for Island Style Cuts, in Kapahulu and decided to make an appointment there instead… see my review.
