Very helpful, friendly, professional, knowledgeable! He’s been willing to answer my questions about his diagnoses and even about how his equipment works.

Dr. Saito is the best eye doctor that I’ve ever had. I’ve been wearing glasses since high school and helped me with getting the perfect contacts. Because of him, know I know that I have a sinus problem that allows me to only wear my contacts for eight hours and not when there is heavy vog in the air. His analysis helped me understand that why I kept getting sick when I wear my contacts. The staff is also very friendly! If you need an eye doctor, you need to see Dr. Saito!!!

Dr. Saito is more than a professional with a well-​run practice; he actually cares. When it comes to something as important as my eyesight, it’s definitely worth going to the right doctor. He’s thorough and well-​informed, and always does a great job of explaining things to me. It also doesn’t hurt that his location is convenient with easy parking, and his staff is friendly. Glad I found him!

After reading so many positive reviews, I made my annual eye exam appointment with Dr. Saito. After getting new insurance, he was one of the doctors in my network. Nothing out of the ordinary as far as the exam is concerned, but when it came down to picking out frames and discussing options is were my impression went down hill.
Glasses are expensive, I know this, but the prices his office was quoting me were through the roof. The selection of «approved» frames was minimal and unimpressive. I wear glasses everyday, so of course I prefer higher end frames and there was very little of that to choose from (I will admit that he did have a nice selection of Bobbi Brown designer frames that I have never seen before). I inquired as to the price of bringing in my own frames and that not only would leave me glassless for a few days, but the price too was out of control (like almost twice as much as Costco quoted me). They tried to tell me they could work out a deal if I purchased sunglasses and eyeglasses, but I could not see paying so much for something that I didn’t even like that much. In the end I told them I would decide and let them know. Well, needless to say I took my prescription and went elsewhere.
That was over 3 months ago and today I received a bill in the mail for a total of $ 121 and change. I called the office to inquire about the bill and was told it was for glasses. I explained to the woman that I never ordered glasses, never picked out frames, never authorized anything other than my exam with this office and I was told that they would look into it and refund my insurance. Pretty annoying that I have to go through extra steps for no reason, but glad to have it resolved. The woman on the phone was very helpful, but I’ll still probably go to Costco next year.

Must say Been and worked with Many eye doctors and I have found my Doctor Very very patient and doesn’t make u feel rushed at all. He is down to earth personable and very very professional he actually cares for the persons well being and his staff?! Very good they are on it. prompt professional and very welcoming. They are always smiling and. It. Seems to be more of a family oriented relationship. Been coming. Here since December. That’s what made an impact on me so yes I highly recommend Dr. Sail Aloha and mahalo.

I got lucky finding Dr. Saito, he just happened to be in the same building as my daughter’s pediatrician when she was born so out of convenience I visited his office.
I am so thankful that I did so because Dr. Saito makes me look forward to going to the eye doctor (and I never go to the doctor in general so thats big).
He has since moved to the Hale Pawaa building.
I dont know if he has an amazing memory or if he takes great parient notes but, he always remembers little details (like that I bought a place in Makaha and have a daughter) that would be easy to forget after not seeing someone for several weeks.
He is always attentive and genuine and I never feel rushed at an appointment. He takes his time to thoroughly answer any questions and address concerns.
The office is really nice and clean and Megan at the front desk is always very kind and helpful.
Parking in the structure is validated too.
If you need an eye doctor, just see Dr. Saito, you wont be disappointed.

Dr. Saito’s office is in a convenient spot with free, one hour, covered parking but from there it gets better. First time visit today and I find Dr. Saito to be personable, cheerful, professional, efficient, careful and caring. The office, shared by another optometrist, Dr. Wong is new, clean, well appointed and has quite a nice view of Makiki and Tantalus. There is a flat screen in the waiting room, magazines and a great choice of frames to look at. Wait time was minimal.
The appointment went seamlessly. His receptionists are quite pleasant and thorough and they are all great in explanations for purchasing, choices and payments. I felt welcomed, comfortable, listened to and that I was in good hands.
The examinations were quick and he explained all procedures. Because of my age and health the exam took a tad longer than most people would have and no «puff of air» glaucoma exam for those of you who know what I mean.
If you are looking for a great eye doctor, one who you can feel is trustworthy and expert, he is the Dr. for you. And I have been through 5 eye doctors before Dr. Saito. Two were excellent but are retired. Two should soon be. One was horrific, another story altogether.
But of all of them, Dr. Saito holds the esteemed top spot of all the doctors I have seen. Go without reservation.

How am I going to see this good doctor when his staff won’t even return a phone call? Behind every good doctor should be a good staff which lacks in his office.

Dr. Saito is the best. I would recommend him to anyone. He is extremely nice and has your best interest at heart. I know I am in good hands. He even came in on his day off to help me with an emergency eye problem. The office has a great staff.

Seriously. Get off of Unilocal,call Dr. Saito and make an appointment. Any further research is a waste if time. While there probably are other Dr’s that are good too, you’re not going to find another one that you could classify as «better» than Dr Saito. He is very knowledgeable, his staff is very nice, and the excellent follow up coupled with an overall non-​stressful pleasant experience will make you come back. Thank you very much Dr. Saito.

After living in Hawaii for four years, I decided that it was official, I needed an eye doctor on island. After searching Unilocal and asking around, I am SO glad that I came to Dr. Saito’s office!
The location is awesome. It is extremely easy to get to and they validate parking! Not to mention there are many different medical doctors in the building and a Mina pharmacy in the lobby. You can get EVERYTHING done in one spot!
Dr. Saito was very professional, helpful, and really understood my needs as a patient. Instead of giving the «Doctor speech» about taking out my contacts at night, he told me, «I know that you aren’t going to take them out every night, so here is what you can do to protect yourself from eye infections…» It was great to have a doctor who was concerned for me, but still willing to help accommodate my lifestyle. He was extremely friendly and I will definitely recommend him to my friends.
My favorite part about this office is the desk staff! They were amazing! They called me the day before to remind me of my appointment and when I came in, they had everything ready for me. They were happy, sweet, and very helpful, especially when helping me pick out my new frames!
I love this office and will definitely be returning! I highly recommend Dr. Saito and his team to anyone looking for a great doctor and experience.

One of the best dr. I’ve gone to! I had to look for a new eye dr. because my insurance changed. I’ve always just been to places because it was convenient. Never found an eye dr. that I felt deserved my loyalty to return until now.
It’s important to me that the office staff is friendly yet professional. My first call to make an appointment was what any patient would expect. They were very accommodating with available times, answered all my questions as a new patient, and I didn’t feel like I was rushed off the phone.
The location is super convenient in town. They had just moved to their new office so everything is nice yet inviting. Parking is another key factor for me so I liked how they have ample parking in their building and provide validation. The first hour is free and minimal charges for additional time.
Dr. Saito is very friendly and easy to talk to. I felt very comfortable explaining my concerns and he addressed all of them. My exam was very thorough. I really felt I was in good hands. We covered areas from my interest in getting LASIK to when my 19 month daughter should start seeing an eye dr. As a new parent, it was insightful to learn that kind of information as well.
After a week of evaluating my new contacts, I returned for a follow-​up visit. I signed up for their appointment text reminder. I feel more doctors should have that service. Who doesn’t text message nowadays right? But I was surprised that they followed up with a call the day before too even though I did sign up for the text reminder. It’s always good to get reminded anyway.
I would refer Dr. Saito to all my friends and family. Now I just hope my experiences with all my other new doctors will be as successful as this one.
