No frills, no nonsense kind of place. We just landed in Oahu and wanted to get some dinner when it started raining. The lines were out the door for the place across the street, so Ezo it was. Walking in, you already get a sense of what type of restaurant it is. Bright lights, lack of décor and tons of people chewing down on their noodles. I get it; holes in the walls are supposed to have the best food. I opted for the curry katsu and the husband ordered the miso ramen. He shared with my daughter, who is a picky eater and wanted more noodles after devouring her portion. We both upgraded and got the order of gyoza and he also added the fried rice. Overall, the food was fine. I thought the chicken was extremely chewy and seemed to have been frozen. However, the ramen is most popular here and he liked them a lot. My issue was the fact that there must have been 10 flies just hanging out in the restaurant, waiting for the minute a person isn’t eating or swatting them away to devour some noodles or leftover chicken bits. It made for an uncomfortable meal. Even my daughter was swatting them away and yelling when flies got too close to her dinner. Sure, no major blunders with the food. But why is it acceptable that there are tons of insects swarming around the restaurant and none of the workers bat an eye? This must be an everyday occurrence. I shudder to think of what the cook is used to seeing in the kitchen… Call me a snob. Call me an elitist. I will be one elsewhere where the flies aren’t considered the norm and part of the normal patronage.

This is classic Ezogiku at the right place. The ramen, fried rice, and gyoza combo is the best. I’m glad a few locations still exist. I’ll come here again.

So delicious!!! Amazing place. Best decision we’ve ever made. Line across the street was too long so we gave it a shot, and it was great! Pot stickers, fried rice, chicken ramen. YUM.

Do disappointed I usually come here a lot because my boyfriend loves there chicken and I love there noodles as well as it being in a convenient area, but today my boyfriend and I came and shared noodles it was amazing but once we were done he looked in the bowl and saw a baby cockroach on top of the green onion!!! Guess I won’t be eating here anymore.

Best deal on Kalakaua Ave. You leave this place stuffed. Add on gyoza and fried rice to your main entrée for $ 4.50 more. You still come ahead with some change to spare compared to better known ramen places on the block. I’d give this place a shot. Service was good. I’d come back again.

Great service, consistently great food. Can’t ask for anything more! This is my go to spot for lunch and dinner when working in Waikiki. Hooked on the Won Ton ramen with Gyoza side. Around 12p the food court is packed so go a little early if you want to enjoy your meal in quit!

I love this hole in the wall ramen shop I have been coming here for 15 years and tastes consistently the same. Same great people working here for years now don’t get me wrong there are plenty of ramen shops popping up all around Waikiki area but I’m true to the small business owner … They are the last remaining few

Out one evening for dinner, we headed for ramen at Ramen Ezogiku located on Kalakaua. After a short wait, we were seated at a table for four. The big brightly lit restaurant has six tables on one side and a large bar counter. Checking out the menu, it consisted of soup and non-soup ramen, rice dishes and bowls. Each of us opted for a ramen soup bowl with a three item combo for $ 4.50, which consisted of fried rice and four pieces of gyoza. The fried rice and gyozas were good, but nothing special. Ankake Ramen — shrimp, squid, pork, shitake mushrooms, vegetable(napa cabbage and carrots). The seafood and vegetables were not over cooked and broth was tasty. I was however, disappointed with the noodles. They were more like Chinese egg noodles than traditional ramen noodles. With the addition of a combo to your meal, you do get a lot of food. If you’re looking for traditional ramen, this might not be the place for it.

3.5 stars for a regular spot I go to when I’m in Hawaii. It gives off a local neighborhood shop feel with their u shaped bar and various tables set up in the store of for your ramen tasting convenience. I came here a lot of two years ago, and on my last trip, I came back for the nostalgia. They have a variety of ramen, but my favorite is the miso while the shoyu was a little too plain and boring for me. Miso is slightly salty and there’s plenty of toppings inside. Fulfilling, not super rich. Usually, my friend and I get the miso ramen while one of us gets the combo with fried rice and gyoza. We share the combo since it’s quite fulfilling and I personally like their well seasoned fried rice. If you’re looking for cheap ramen eats, stop here.

One of the worst bowls of ramen… I don’t have much to say about this place besides my bowl was salty and the meat was not good. I ordered the shoyu ramen. The 1 piece of meat was a disappointment. It suppose to melt in your mouth. NOT. The broth– salty… Customer service– the cashier/host. She was friendly and happy The end…

Kudos for being open late on my way home. The cold noodles were ok. But the vegetable garnishes including bean sprouts and cucumber tasted like dirty water. I tried to cover the taste(gross I know, but I was really hungry) with some chili oil and vinegar, but it was just offensive. I ended up just eating the noodles. After eating I checked out Unilocal and another reviewer mentions the dirty water taste too. Next time I’m in a pinch, I’ll grab something at ABC over this place.

My spouse introduced me to this delicious dive years ago and it has become one of our favorite spots. LOCATION: On Kalakaua Avenue across from Hard Rock Café. They also have another location in the food court of the Royal Hawaiian Center which is not as good. ATMOSPHERE: The space is drowning in bright white lights with zero ambiance. You’re greeted in Japanese as your enter and exit. There’s a big central ramen counter and table seating surrounding it. MENU: Ramen, rice bowls, fried noodles, fried rice, and Japanese apps. FOOD: Shoyu Ramen — This is the best tasting shoyu broth I’ve ever had, anywhere. It’s dark and clean, and the noodles are always perfectly chewy. Toppings are bean sprouts, fish cake, char siu, and green onions. The portion size is satisfyingly filling and still under $ 9! Highly recommended. Miso Ramen — I love miso soup, but just don’t care for it as a ramen broth. It’s still good though, with a mild miso flavor. Toppings are the usual bean sprouts, char siu, fish cake, and green onions. Fried Rice — Again, one of the tastiest of any restaurant I’ve been to. It’s full of flavor and chocked full of minced fish cake, pork, green onions, and peas. The regular size order is pretty big so it’s great to share with 2 or 3 people. Gyoza — 6 pieces of tender & flavorful pork-stuffed dumplings with a nice crispy crust. A must to accompany any ramen bowl. RESERVATIONS: They don’t take any though sometimes it can be crowded. Go during off peak times to avoid lines. SERVICE: Food service is pretty quick, and the staff are friendly. TIPS: A generous 20% discount is given to kama’aina! If you don’t know what that is, you’re not one lol. They have a frequent eater stamp card good for 1 free bowl of ramen. A sister restaurant is located in the Royal Hawaiian Center food court, but trust me, eat here instead. Ramen does NOT taste good out of a plastic container bowl! OVERALL: Great prices, excellent food, and open late.

I never thought I would be craving for hot ramen soup in Hawaiian hot weather, but it was oh so good! Loved how cold it felt inside, so eating a spicy hot ramen felt even better with my goosebumps! I’m usually a safe kind of gal, so I ordered the chicken veggie ramen. Best ramen ever! Added a lot of chili oil and it was perfect! My husband got the beef sukiyaki and we ate in silence. Please come to Seattle! We need you more than the Hawaiians! I mean Seattle is «always» cold and raining(not really) and it would make us all happy! Think about it.

Great for a cheap & hearty feed in Waikiki, for about $ 10 you could get a big bowl of steaming hot ramen with a side serving of tasty gyoza. We had the seafood ramen and the wonton & char sui ramen. Both were satisfying. Nothing to complain about here!

Good, hot ramen noodles for lunch with various toppings i.e. chicken, beef, pork, etc. You can add on gyoza for a few dollars more. Service is quick and take-out is easy!

Totally respectable ramen. Maybe not five-star like Orochon Ramen in LA, but it’s legitimately as good as most of the ramen that you’ll find in LA, SF, or SD. Definite hole-in-the-wall diner vibe, with laminated menus and aged furniture, so if you’re looking to impress a first date, this is NOT the droid you’re looking for…
