This place was such an incredible find during my first visit to Hawaii 3 years ago. A familiar chain restaurant originating in Japan, I was incredibly surprised to find this gem tucked in the back of the Kings Village complex. With an entirely different menu, how it was ever originally linked to the popular Gyoza No Ohsho franchise, I’ll never know; yet one of the things I like best about Waikiki’s Gyoza No Ohsho is just how unassuming it is. It has a underlying ‘family-run element’ about it which easily lends itself to a feeling of warm familiarity & as a result, I always feel welcome by their kind hospitality. The service here is always attentive & after a long day in Waikiki, there’s nothing I enjoy more than sitting at the counter with a cold beer, watching the staff go about their work. The food here is joyous, simple & straightforward. With such authentic offerings, you could easily be mistaken for thinking you were somewhere in the backstreets of Japan. Dependable favourites remain their Fried Gyoza($ 5.25), served in a hot skillet, as well as their Ma-Po Tofu Bowl($ 10.75). If you love authentic Japanese food, this place is the real deal.

Cheese gyoza! The gyoza is hard to beat — crunchy outside, soft inside. Also good noodles and friendly service.

Good. Extremely authentic. Really good very authentic Japanese soup and pot stickers. So good in fact that I walked back to the hotel and my husband who’s never had Japanese ramen before tried a sip and had to go down to the restaurant himself to get himself some. The gyoza is really good though slightly burnt more than I like but the sauces that I was able to mix were delicious. Considering we’re in Waikiki Beach the prices are very affordable. I would suggest it if you’re American and looking for a little Japanese flavor that’s unadulterated. Do expect to be looked at funny though because you are not Asian and you will not be able to read anything on the walls.

Been here numerous times before and the food was always good… until today. Maybe the cook has been changed out or something but today was the worst meal I ever had there. The ramen had no flavor whatsoever. It was like the ramen was cooked in a pot of clean clear water. There was no hint of the miso that I ordered. Not sure what happened there but won’t be returning until it’s rectified. The gyoza was good hence the 2nd star.

The food is just OK and communication is rough. We had Ramen and the noodles seemed overcooked. And they couldn’t cater to anyone looking for a vegetarian option. Some may like that and said that a because they’re authentic. Not sure.

***CASHONLY****They need to have a sign on the outside instead of one tiny orange one on the inside. Luckily we had cash. Forgot to take a picture of the fried rice because it was so delicious. We ate it so fast. The service was attentive and friendly. I love supporting local places. My ramen was very satisfying. I had more than enough to eat. The gyoza was brought out on a cast iron pan and was still cooking a little in front of us. If we lived in Hawaii — we would be back. Best fried rice that my husband and I have ever had.

Thanks Unilocalers! I would’ve never ordered the crab omelette ramen but thanks to the reviews I did and damn it’s good! The broth is full of flavor and not super greasy, the omelette looked fresh and tasted like it just came off the griddle. I usually throw in all kinds of spicy stuff in my ramen but I didn’t this time and to be honest I was afraid I’d mess with the flavor. Wish I had been drinking before I stopped by because I bet it would taste even better with a buzz:)

First time there before going to a concert at Blue Note, cozy little place with mostly Japanese tourists I thought it should be good. Ramen soup was too salty too much shoyu base. The Ma-Po tofu ramen has lots of tofu which I liked. Fried gyoza was ok. Wait staff was very friendly.

Gyoza is our Friday night date place. The soups are great and we love the fried gyoza. It’s inexpensive, good food. A real deal in Waikiki.

This place is a little hidden inside King’s Village so it was kind of hard to find. I ordered the CHARSUIPORKRAMEN and shared FRIEDGYOZA with my mom. I was a little disappointed because the char sui and noodles were overcooked for my taste. If you like your noodles on the harder side, this might not be your go-to spot. The ramen came to us fairly quickly but I think they forgot about our gyoza so we had to remind them. All in all, this place was okay but probably not somewhere I’d go again.

Ramen and gyoza was very good! Place was a little difficult to find for tourists. Service was slow and mediocre. The middle aged Caucasian male with glasses did not follow up, only 2 tables in the restaurant at the time including us. Something about eating a good meal and not having the positive energy of a good server throws everything off. Anyhow, it was pretty authentic, flavors were robust and the prices were very reasonable. Can’t wait to go back!

Took me about 30 minutes to walk around the plaza to find this place; ended up being right behind the BK tucked away. Cash only WARNING, though there’s an ATM at the hotel across the street. Great alternative to long lines elsewhere serving up similar foods. I had the crab omlet ramen; perhaps one of the most inventive flavors in noodles that i’ve experience. My gf raved about the miso ramen(standard flavor). Overall, I’d go back but it was certainly pricey for the meal. 2 ramens and 1 order of cheese gyozas + a nice tip ran me about $ 40.

Just finished the best ramen I have ever had in my entire life. The crab omelette ramen is incredible. If you ever visit Hawaii make sure you eat here at least once. I WILL be back every time I visit.

We loved this place so much that we came back a second time on our recent vacation! I wish I would have remembered to take a picture. This place was right across the street from our hotel in the Kings village plaza, so that was convenient. The first time we tried we ordered cheese gyoza, my fiancé ordered garlic ramen and my friend and I ordered the one with extra pork in it(can’t remember the name). Also made it extra spicy and it was a good amount of heat. They also have hot oil at the table you can add to your ramen. All of them were delicious but definitely preferred the garlic ramen, it was amazing. Beer prices and prices in general were also very good for the quality and amount of food you get. We could not finish our bowls and were full. Service was great both times. Our first server was very knowledgeable regarding items on the menu and questions we had about specific dishes. The second time my fiancé and I got garlic ramen and our friend got soy ramen, which was okay for what it is. I also enjoyed supporting what seems to be a more locally owned place in the hub of touristy Waikiki. One important thing to note is that this place is cash only so come prepared. We would go back here if in this area again.

Had to write a review for the waiters who gave their full attention to customers. Would give 5 stars if the tastes amazed me. I had miso ramen, fried gyoza, yakisoba which all taste chinese rather than authentic japanesefood. But, it’s fine for me. I like the taste anyway. And, the portion you get with the price you paid in Waikiki really deserve a good review.
