Popeyes

We are from Minnesota and usually only have KFC to choose from. We needed a quick lunch and didn’t want to spend the money at a sit down restaurant. I’m in love. We both got the chicken tender meal. The meat was awesome. I know sometimes when we’ve ate at KFC there is some of the meat I won’t eat. The biscuit was scrumptious and the mashed potatoes had a little spicy kick. The customer service was also great. They greet every customer who comes into the store. The parking lot was a little confusing and small but we beat the rush. Highly recommend!

Bought from here several times and everytime they always forget my side, please everyone check everything you get from here cause you could go home and they never put your
Mash potatoes or Cajun rice inside your meal that you

I don’t like this Popeye’s location. The manager was unclear about explaining the new policy about not participating in the survey reward. The prices are too high. They should just close this Popeye’s location down. Not much to look forward to in returning here and giving them another chance at my business.

Just got home to feed the kids, 1 box of 5 strips had 4, and a chicken sandwich no mayo was missing the chicken too. W t f!

I would give 0 stars if I could– Sorry but in America, eating live roaches is not a delicacy. Absolutely disgusted. Will NOT be returning.

The food at this Popeyes location is okay, but the actual location and parking lot are tough to get to, and we have been missing items from our drive through orders every time that we’ve gone through.
If you chance it, please just make sure to double check your bag.

Horrible service took 30 miniutes for a #6 combo meal which includes 5 chicken strips & fries. This is the second time ive been here and the second time it has happend. Do not recommed if in a rush.

Ryan at the counter was very pleasant and professional. Greeting everyone as they walked in and thanking them as they were leaving. Great job Ryan! :)

Convenient location. Service was ok. They gave me someone else’s order at first but corrected it while I was still at the window.

Food’s okay, but the service is terrible.
The drive-​thru was a nightmare waiting for 20 minutes with only three cars ahead of me. I don’t know what was wrong, but it took somewhere between five and ten minutes for the car ahead of me just to place their order — there was some kind of back-​and-​forth going on. Then when I ordered, it took about 20 seconds, so I have no idea what the heck the problem was.
With all the waiting, they took my money, gave me my food, and that was it. No «sorry for the wait,» no «thank you for your patience,» heck, no «thank you» at all! Not for giving them my money, not for giving them my business, not for coming by!
Oh, and they didn’t bother to give me any napkins.
I thought maybe it would be better if I went inside, but as others have mentioned, this location’s parking is so screwed up, I probably would have taken longer just getting out of the freaking place.
Never again.

Horrible service. All the useless people working behind the counter should just be fired. Where do you find these wonderful employees?

New place, still has a few growing pains.
We tried to order a special off the flashing TV screen menu (chicken fingers). They were no longer offering it but it was still on the menu because no one knew how to re-​program the TV screens to take it off.
Manager was nice, so were the staff.
Parking is tight… Enter off the side street, NOT Kapahulu.

When I am craving fried chicken I hit up Popeyes over KFC! The parking at this location can be a headache but the customer service and clean restaurant interior more than compensate! Upon entering, I am always greeted with a loud welcome and when you ask for their «specials» the cashiers are more than happy to inform you on their latest deals!
I usually get their fried chicken breast/​wings along with cajun fries and their awesome buttery biscuit. The side dips cost a little more but are so worth it! I always receive my food hot, fresh and fast!

Was dreading getting drive thru from here based on the reviews but needed to bring Popeyes for a potluck. Dunno if they’ve stepped it up or I just got lucky that day. Went on Saturday at 5:30 pm and ordered 16 pc box of spicy mixed chicken at drive thru. Drove to window to pay and ready in less than five. It wasn’t stale. It was hot delicious and spicy. And a hit at potluck. Minus one star bc whoa $ 30 for 16 pcs of chicken seems kinda expensive. But it was delicious. Better than times. And KFC. And St. Louis drive in.

Over the years, our order has been messed up every single time we’ve ordered from the drive thru (probably 4 or 5 times). At this point it would actually be a surprise if they got our order right.
My husband liked the chicken tenders. Wouldn’t know how the dirty rice was since they forgot to give it to us.

I was so excited to eat Popeyes tonight. Love their chicken, especially the waffle chicken. I’ve been to their location once before, but we drove thru. The service at that time wasn’t pleasant at all. In fact, I think our order was wrong and there were small pieces of chicken rather than nice sizes. The location at Kapahulu is quite unique– not in a good way. It’s such an odd location and only has 3 stalls, 1 handicapped stall.
This time we went in to order and was warmly greeted with «welcome to Popeyes!» I thought that was nice until I realized lots of employees were grunting their way through work. So many odd things happened when we were there. The cashier charged us wrong– made two mistakes and laughed at it, the guy putting the order together was confused on our order. The manager was going front and back and not sure if she knew what was going on. The drive thru worker was doiń it all by himself with no help. The cooks in the back were staring oddly to those in the front. Even though they were nice to us, the employees seem not so nice to each other and I hope it gets better soon!
A very strange visit with the service issues, quality of chicken, lack of cole slaw, fries were dried and mushy… I hope they do better!!!

I’m not sure why it took me so long to write a review seeing as how I come here so darn often. I used to eat lunch here almost every single day when I used to work on Kapahulu. I am seriously addicted to their chicken strips & biscuits. I don’t get to eat here as often as I’d like now that I work in downtown but I make it a point to come this way at least 2 – 3 times a month because I need it. LOL
I think I’ve only ever eaten in once, otherwise I always use the drive-thru…mainly because whoever designed this building & parking lot after tearing down KFC is an asshat. I mean there is seriously like 4 parking stalls for this big ass building because they decided to plop it at a weird angle for the drive thru. WTF?
However, I never had a bad experience in over a year of coming here. The workers have always been genuinely polite with me & my orders are always correct, served fresh & hot.

Been to this location a couple of times now. I grew up with only KFC, so Popye’s offerings are also enjoyable, espcially their spicy chicken.
The cashier that took my order today seemed sluggish and apathetic, and had to enter an order in the register to find out the price when I asked. She also did not give a drink cup, so I had to ask the manager when he handed me my meal. Finally, while I waited for my order, the manager had to ask the employees if I had been informed that my meal would take seven minutes before it would be ready. I suppose this is longer than normal for a fast food restaurant, but honestly, I was just happy to get some junk food after work without any major hangups.
When I got home, I found that my meal had many more onion rings than a usual order, and two extra chicken wings. I’m not sure if the manager was feeling anxious, or if looked angry or something, but I just wanted to say that I really appreciate the gesture in any case.
Obviously the staff has a little work to do in customer service, but that’s about the most one can complain about in a joint with spicy fried chicken and cajun fries.

If I could live off of only one thing my whole life, it would be fried chicken. Not JUST any kind of fried chicken… it has to be from Popeyes!
I would have given them 5 stars, until my most recent visit. I only like eating the legs. Thighs, wings, breast. they just don’t do too well with me for flavour.
So when I ordered, they said I can only mix and match with the 5 piece. I got that, with all legs. The next time I went, they said I could only do it for the 8 piece. The time after that, they said only for the 14 piece! I was okay with that, because I was sharing, and wouldn’t mind saving some for later. However, the most recent time I went, it changed to the 16 – 18 piece! I was getting a little disappointed in all the mixed information I was receiving…
Atmosphere: 5 stars
Bathroom and dining area are very clean! It’s never full. It’s usually empty to minimum, because people usually go in the drive thru. & that’s fine with me; I look crazy while ravenously devouring my delicious chicken, and would possibly scare several of the customers eating in.

Well, after the mixed info I was getting, I simply assumed the next time I go, they will say they can only do the mix and match with the 1,000 piece or something. Other than that, they’re quite friendly and always greet everyone upon entering

I love their fried chicken so much!!! I used to NEVER eat the chicken skin. It made me have goosebumps just thinking about it. But a couple bites of Popeye’s chicken skin is sho yummies. They even give you butter to melt onto the chicken, which reminds me to hit the gym more often… but eat now, pay later.
Try their sweet cane tea! Only at Popeye’s and perfect to go with their chicken. The bisquits are salty and dry, and I’m not much of a fan of their cajun fries.
Will be back again, but after eating the 18 piece… I may put off any chicken for about a day or two. and order again! I’m thinking of heading over to the Popeye’s in Dillingham. Have yet to try theirs :)

Ok, I have to admit, their parking design isn’t the best. Maybe the best for what they had to deal with but none the less, it isn’t the most ideal. Shane C nailed it when he recommended not to park in those parking spots when you first enter the drive through as you might have to wait if the drive thru is crowded. Either park on the exit side or if you’re fortunate to live around the area like me, just walk on down. Yes walk on down as you will need to get in a little exercise to work off them calories you are about to consume.
On to the food. I love that chicken from Popeyes! Enough said! I could care less about their sides of sides, their tender chicken tenders, their saucy sauces… I come here for their chicken. Give me a box of Popeyes fried chicken and you will see one happy camper.
