Jack In The Box

Worst jack in the box on the Island of Oahu. They did not have all the ingredients to make my sandwich. I had to re-​order an new one. The fries were dark brown like there cooking them in old oil. The soda machine drinks taste like flavored water not soda. The restroom is always occupied by homeless people in the area. So paying customers cannot use the rest room.

So many times I have been to this jack in the box before and they never seem to get things right!
Here are just a few of my experiences from this past week.
12÷26÷15− I decided to come to jack in the box because I love the croissant sandwich, I ordered that with a Sprite (which the soda here is always nasty! They need to check the syrup or something because it’s gross! Taste like straight up carbonated water. Any who I go through the drive thru and as soon as I look into the back my
Order was correct! Thank heavens for that! Now the downfall is because as soon as I start to eat my sandwich something tasted funky! I mean something was really sour. I think it was the meat in the sandwich that was spoiled or something, so I ended up having to throw it all away, and I didn’t want to call to complain I was already having a good day I didn’t want to ruin it anymore then my breakfast was lol.
12÷28÷15− So we get to jack in the box and pull up to the window (it’s about 7:30pm) we order a number 15 (chicken teriyaki bowl) and fries (instead of the spring roll) and a Sprite! The lady repeats. «OK SO 15 jalapeño popper and fries» aaaahhhh what? We corrected her and it took her a few times to fully comprehend our order, I mean really it was simple. Anyway long story short we get home with our meal, I open my chicken bowl and I was like «damn they hooked it up there’s hella chicken in this bowl» LOL low and behold the rice was not even cooked! It was mushy and nasty and just ew lol I wish I had taken a picture of it but I wasn’t in the mood.
Anyway if you read this and go to this jack in the box, you might want to check your food before going home, taste wise. If not you’ll end up like me mad and sad that the food is either not fully cooked or spoiled lol!

Dar said why are you rating JB’s 2 stars? Because I don’t like to eat there dear. You shouldn’t rate it like just because you don’t like it. You should rate it by location.
Back in the day could not live without JB taco salad. And I used to love on Jumbo Jacks. But for some reason I just don’t care for it. I only keep coming back because for some the reason the kids love the greasy tacos.
For Darcie she was just super happy that the staff have her two free ranch dressing.

This is the Jack in the Box I’ve been coming to since it was built (used to be a service station). Anyway, I’ve never had any problems with my orders until recently. A couple weeks ago I made a 5 am run through the drive thru. I ordered 2 breakfast jacks. When I get home I find 2 chicken sandwiches. Kinda disappointing, but it is what it is. A few days ago I make a late night drive thru and order the late night munchie meal. When I open the box at home the 2 tacos are missing. Again, not worth getting upset about.
This evening I figure I’ll go inside and order at the counter so I can be sure I get the right burgers. One of the burgers was the new portobello mushroom buttery Jack burger that comes w/​grilled onions. When I get the order I look in the bag and lo and behold there it is. Winner! I get home and open the box. The burger looks really small. I take off the top bun and there’s no mushrooms or onions. I even look under the meat patty. Nothing. I figure this time I’ll call the restaurant. Erica answers the phone and is very nice. She said I can come back and just give my name and I can get another burger. Great! Not the end of the story. So, I start to eat the burger and about 2 bites in I find a few small diced pieces of mushroom. They were under the cheese! I mean they were such little pieces that you couldn’t even tell they were hidden under the cheese! I don’t know if this is how headquarters intended their burger to be sold or if there is something wrong with this particular location. I won’t be going back to Jack in the Box. I give up, I’m done.
Anybody looking for a good fast food mushroom burger? Skip Jack in the Box and head over to McDonald’s for their Steakhouse mushroom and grilled onion burger. They actually give you mushrooms and onions you can see!

I like this Kapahulu Jack In The Box. Before, they had a window/​manager employee named Ella and she was awesome, when she tended the window, there was no such thing as a long line backed up to the road, she kept everything rolling like a pro. Then, after many years, Ella left or something, whenever we asked no one would answer us except to say, «yea, she doesn’t work here anymore». That was the end to great, efficient service. But, the food here is still good when comparing to fast food joints. I always have the cheeseburger or the jumbo jack with cheese or a breakfast item and always a side of tacos and iced mocha coffee, which is every bit as good as any «coffee shop». The hub use to get the fish sandwich but they canceled it and so he just orders tacos and breakfast foods. We have, collectively tried almost everything on the menu, including the new items as they are introduced, but going back to the simple jumbo jack and tacos, breakfast foods, plus the coffees are always proven winners. And, when I need a small sweet, the chocolate cake hits the spot.

Sitting in line right now and it’s taking forever. I thought it was called fast food? Even when I got to the speaker box they told me to wait.

Buttery Jack Good — **grunt grunt**

The food is pretty good considering the price. It is the best meal for broke ass college students like me. The drive thru people are normally pretty nice but a fee times they were short staffed or something but the drive thru line was really long and they took forever getting our food. The people behind us were pissed because they thought we ordered a ton of food but it was because they didn’t have enough workers. But that’s not really their fault.

Working in any fast food location is difficult, I get that. But the manager here who walks around yelling at, belittling and degrading her employees needs to really take this into consideration.
From a customers perspective, I could not help but feel for the employees as they were being denigrated, insulted and called incompetent loud enough to hear from the drive through window. I could also see the shame and frustration in their eyes as they tried to muster up a smile and hand me my order. And it was in that moment that I wondered if there was any «special ingredients» that someone may have accidentally added out of hurt.
Yo Jack, you may need to re-​train this manager on her people skills. Who treats people like crap when they are serving food? Doesn’t she realize that crappy energy marinates the food? You ever try eating curly-​fries while someone is being treated like poop? It really leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Seriously.

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a fast food restaurant. I came to only order a mango smoothie at 11pm on Friday night. The inside dining was already locked so I had to wait behind 5 cars in the drive thru. The staff was so slow I was in line for 20 minutes before reaching the window. When I got to the window they handed me a strawberry smoothie instead of the mango one I had ordered. I had to wait for them to re make the correct one. Once I received my smoothie is was completely watery and tasted like ice. I then had to park and walk to the drive thru window to ask for my money back. I will NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN!

Most of the time I come here, I don’t really have any major problems. Sometimes the sourdough jack can be dry & bland or the fries are old. But last night I’d had enough. I ordered the #9 (Homestyle ranch chicken club) with a fruit punch, regular fries & 2 buttermilk sauce. I’d just gotten off a crazy-​busy shift at work, hadn’t eaten all day & when I got home was looking forward to my delicious burger & fries smothered in sauce. Instead, there was NO BUTTERMILK in my bag & the chicken in my burger was disgusting! It was so dry & hard. It tasted like it’d been fried, sat out all day & then dunked back in the frier & served. I will stick to the JITB on King St. from now on.

This restaurant needs to really make sure that the order I received was completely incorrect. They forgot to put the teriyaki sauce on the burger and I had to check. Usually this location is pretty good about substitutions for ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard. Also. I hope they will check the automated paper towel machine and toilet paper. Other than that, I was pleased that they suggested getting the combo for the ultimate cheeseburger, which was buy 1 get on 1 free.

The sourdough jack was awful. The meat tasted like it had bits of crunchy things in it. Haven’t eaten at Jack in the Box for over a year and not going back anytime soon. I felt awful eating unhealthy… I mean that’s as unhealthy as it can get.

The food is good as it should be but the waimanalo jack in the always seem to screw up my order every other time I go there. I call to let them know my order is wrong, they ask if I’m coming back, I live in Hawaii Kai I’m not about to drive back there, I tell them I’m not coming bak to get my food and they just hang up on me.

Cashier held onto my debit card when I tried to retrieve it from her. Then she let it go and it fell to the ground. I could not open my truck door so I had to angle the truck to reach down and picked up the card. Them I ran over the shrubs in the planter cause I couldn’t back up to straighten… Damn…

I generally order the same thing at Jacks. Today I was a little bummed when the chicken in my sandwich was warm instead of HOT as I prefer. Overall though my drive through experience was as to be expected from Jack In The Box.

I should have stopped by here earlier! They actually have adequate parking. The a/​c works and they have decent prices on their food. Yeah… yeah… I know this is a fast food restaurant. But, this is one is the best one on Kapahulu.
Want cheap fastfood? Want a comfortable place to sit and eat? Want to be able to park without having to worry about being towed? This is the place to come when you are on Kapahulu.

I ordered the Jr Bacon Cheeseburger & Bacon Cheddar Potato Wedges for $ 5.58.
The Beef was good, the Cheese was very good and the Bacon was great.
The Bacon & Cheese went great with the Potato Wedges.
A delicious meal from this Drive Thru.

I can’t help myself sometimes. I want my food, and I want it FAST. I don’t care if it’s bad for me, or if it’s part of a huge conglomerate or not local or whatever…
I’m HUNGRY. And quite possibly drunk.
On the way home during a stumble, I have two options on Kapahulu Blvd. Zippy’s and Jack in the Box. Ok, three if you count Safeway, but I would end up cracking out on Pop-​tarts if given that choice.
I dizzily make my way in and order a Jumbo Jack combo with curly fries and a side of ranch, which I was charged extra for.
A few minutes later, I barge into my unfurnished apartment (I have a good reason for this), throw everything on the ground and tear apart the brown paper bag withholding the succulent greasiness awaiting me.
Inside? An Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich, regular fries, and instead of ranch, ketchup. Was the Jack employee drunk too?
I still ate it anyways as it satisfied my hunger, which was enough to send me straight to sleepyland thereafter.
Do they always eff up this bad? No, which is why they avoided 1 star. But you know when you have your heart set on something only to be greatly disappointed moments later (looking at you mom and dad… christmas 1988? Yes, I still remember).
Will I stumble into here again some night? Probably so. Shamefully, it just can’t be helped.

Pretty good location on Kapahulu conveniently located right around by many other places. Open all day everyday is awesome. Some of my favorite Jack in the Box foods are the monster tacos, Jumbo Jack, Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger, Chicken sandwich, Sourdough Jack, and Breakfast jack. The restaurant itself is alright. There are decent table and seating area. The staff and customer service is aight. Restroom is aight. Drive-​thru is aight. They have their own soft drink dispensers which is always a plus for any fast food joint because you know what that means, re-​fills all day everyday. Jack in the Box always has lots of stuff on the menu. The desserts such as the shakes are aight. I think they need more on the dessert menu like pies and stuff.
