Summary: a very normal retail experience: See item. Consider the marked price. Ask sales clerk for specific information. Decide to buy or not. Buy(or not). Take item home(or not). Done. Ive shopped here a few times, and have never had a bad customer experience. It’s completely normal, which is perfect for a store that sells frames and mats. Customers compare this experience to shopping at Ross? Thats like complaining that a sit-down restaurant costs more than L&L drive in. Quality is better than Ross. Price is appropriately higher. Service is better than Ross or Walmart. And you’re not shopping in a warehouse, its a nice showroom in an air conditioned mall. Im sure rent at Kahala Mall is pricey. This store is normal. And I even like standing around in the showroom, doing nothing, as my kids are entertained by all the colors and photos on the walls. Thats worth a star.

Stopped by to get a quote on some framing… the man working there was kind of rude and indifferent… no customer service skills at all. Apparently they don’t have any koa frames, only koa veneer… so he told me to look at the pre-fabricated frames, then walked away. When I approached him afterwards, he told the other girl in the store to help me. Good thing she was pleasant. Their price was a lot more than another framer… Guess I won’t be using them.

I know my review doesn’t affect their business, but I just want to write about my experience with their sales tactics, which makes me very unhappy. Kahala mall had a kind of street sale on 7÷11÷2014 inside. I got the frame priced $ 15 dollars, but I knew it was $ 10.00. I asked the price, Sales person said«It IS the sale price. «. It was a lie. I showed the sign and she tore it away. Well, I am happy Ross is coming at Kahala Mall. I will buy frames from Ross.

The manager of Picture Plus called me after seeing my review and offered to return my diploma holder and give me a gift card. I was so swamped with work that I kept forgetting to call back and then ended up just not calling. It was a very nice gesture though and demonstrated that customer service at this place is not all bad!

I took our 72×24 inch family tree document and it turned out beautifully. Ashley went through all the options and we settled on simple black lacquer frame with a UV Matte Laminate. Having just the UV laminate made it lighter and protect it from fading. It turned out beautiful and are very pleased. Great customer service and very knowledgeable.

I ordered a PRINT from Pictures Plus On April 2, 2012. I have called 3 times to ask where it was and no one seems to know. The 3rd time I called, I was told it would be in that night. I went to the store the next day and they didn’t have it and had no idea when it would be ready. It is a PRINT, not a framed picture. I am more than annoyed with this situation… 9 days for a print and it’s still not in?

Pictures Plus has been the place for our company’s many custom framing needs. Pat Suwannarute has been simply awesome in getting the job done right over and over again. Pat was originally at Pictures Plus Ward. Our company followed him to the new Kahala location. He not only is precise in making the frames exactly how you ordered them, but he will also assist you in picking the right colors/tones for the perfect look. Pat will also give you the best prices by letting you know what promotions/coupons he can apply to your order! Yay for Pat at Pictures Plus! We will be sure to go there for all of our framing needs!

They did a fantastic job on a dozen pieces I brought in. Customer service was great, with lots of recommendations on how I could save money without cutting corners. The work took about a week. Highly recommended.

Decent place for custom framing and ready-to-hang stuff. I used to like to walk into Pictures Plus to drool over their Koa furniture and look at the prints. This review is going to be about the stuff I actually bought(not the stuff I drooled over). About 5 years ago I came in with my mom and helped her pick out a framed ukiyo-e print. The frame had a beautiful black lacquer look and cost about $ 200. Not bad for the quality, the matting looks like raw silk and picks up the colors in the print. Then 2 years ago I came in with my dan(black belt) certificate and asked for a custom framing job. I asked the guy I talked to if he could do the job so I would be able to switch out certificates as I advanced. He told me he would but it was very hard when I tried a year later to switch the certificate. Oh well. It was still a nice job and his recommendations were very tasteful. I don’t remember the exact cost, but it was around $ 220. My most recent experience was trying to get a certificate framed for a work function the next day. There were two employees at the desk when I walked in and at first they suggested I go to Trophy House. When I told them I needed it for tomorrow the guy(seemed like the manager) walked around with me and found me a frame and matting. He even gave me the hardware and told me how to mat it. Total came out to $ 35. All in all, these guys seem to know their stuff. The only reason I’m not giving five stars is because the guy that did my custom frame job told me that he would do it so I could switch out the frame content, but he didn’t.

Despite having had some bad experiences here, I have tended to return due to the convenience of location. I have had about 12 – 15 things framed here over the years. I have heard the owner is a cool guy, but the staff I have encountered have been less than helpful. On one occasion, I put in an order to have a large tapestry custom framed. They told me how much it would be and then when I came to pick it up and pay they wanted $ 50 more dollars than my receipt said. More recently, I wanted to get a custom frame for an old map. When we walked in, we tried to make eye contact with one of two employees behind the counter. They just ignored us. One of them was doing something at the register and the other just standing there. We walked around the store for a moment, thinking they might be doing something important(still would have liked to be acknowledged) and when we came back to the register, it was like we were invisible. It was only when we started to LEAVE that one of them said something to us in an unenthusiastic tone. I did not bother to turn around and kept walking. A few times that we came here things were fine, so I really don’t know why the service is so uneven.

Staff was very helpful, resolving a challenge on reframing a large format old photo that should have been, but was not framed using acid-free, archival materials.
