I have been here several times… the best seafood crab soup! The wonton soup is meaty and they are very accommodating. The customer service may be bit not in the«norm» bc of its sheer size and it’s a mom and pop place, and they can be a little old fashion(Asian) but I think they mean well. They are not rude, it’s a cultural thing. Get pass that and you should be happy with your meal. I have my loyalty card! Happy eats!

Worst service I’ve ever experienced. My girlfriend and I walked in and ordered food, staff did not even bring water to the table until I asked for a cup and they only gave one cup for the two of us. While we we’re waiting for our food the worker was eating on the side and did not help us. Also when our food was ready, they placed it on the counter and left it there for 5 min before I walked up and asked if it was our food which was the cold. My girlfriend ordered tofu stirfry and it tasted like canned gravy on it. I ordered spare ribs and it was dry and cold in the middle. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

There service is ehh the food WAS great but I’m thinking because this was one hour before closing they were trying to get rid of whatever vegetables they had left. I ordered veggie and tofu Phở and to my surprise when I got home I got wilted old looking cabbage poorly chopped with the butt still on it and practically uneadable. They had spots on them which is what called my attention in the first place and as I looked closer began to find more and more OLD brownish lettuce and cabbage. The cooks in the kitchen are lazy or just think people won’t notice well they’re wrong and now they are receiving a bad review for it. I would’ve given one star but I called to alert the waiter/front desk and she said she was very sorry about that. I let her know it’s not her fault but she needs to let the kitchen staff know so they don’t continue to serve these rotten vegetables to their paying customers. I will not be ordering Phở from here anymore.

I went here once with my friend because he said it was his favorite phở place. I thought that the broth was bland and the noodles were over cooked. I did not want to go back, but since it was his favorite I decided to give them another chance. I think it’s been about 6 months. I ordered the beef ball and tripe phở. To my surprise it was a total one eighty from my first visit. The broth was very aromatic and it even had cilantro! You don’t normally find cilantro in phở, but I’m a big fan of it. The noodles were perfect and there were a lot balls and tripe in my soup. The service was fast and they were always filling up our waters. The a/c works in this restaurant! I’m so glad that I’ve given them a second chance. I’ll definitely make this one of my fav phở spots too.

Nice portions. The generous portion of chicken vegetable salad with lettuce, shredded green papaya, and loaded with other ingredients was super! The won ton phở came out piping hot and was delicious! We’ll be back!

Gigantic portions, delicious beef balls, and the restaurant smelled amazing. What more can you ask for? While searching for a place to relieve my friend of her sickness, we travelled to many places before landing in this place. I have walked past Phở Kitchen many times, but never gone inside. I am so glad that I actually went in this time! Right when you walk in, this cloud of air hits you, and it’s a good hit. The entire time I was inside, the smell was intoxicating. It had smelled like no other restaurant I have been in before. The menu was very easy to read, and the water was immediately given to us in nice big cups with a lemon wedge! My friend ordered the combination phở, I ordered the beef balls phở, and we had a side of spring rolls. These spring rolls didn’t come with a lot of the normal vegetables, but it definitely tasted yummy. We got our phở shortly after. She was able to finish, but I still had half of mine left. Huge portions I tell you! I would definitely come back again. They are also a Coke brand!

The won ton phở is very tasty. Summer roll is delicious and would like to try their Mabo Tofu on noodles the next we go there. Service is great but parking may be a problem in Market City. Lots of eating place, so parking is limited. I would go there again, prices are resonable.

Went to this place on June 15, 2015 at 11:30am, this place was by far one of the worst customer service experience I have ever had! It’s a super small place located in the shopping center next to Walgreens and T-Mobile. My friend and I came to have some phở and I haven’t tried this place out yet so I was like why not. The menu selection is placed outside the door to view and it looked relatively good. When I checked Unilocal the reviews are kind of 50⁄50 so I was kind of like ah whatever I’ll just try it out. We sit down, my friend decides he doesn’t want anything and she hears him and gives him the stink eye. Our waitress was this young Asian girl with the worst attitude problem ever! She comes and gives us a menu, asks what I want to order, I got the rare steak phở($ 9) then hurries back to the kitchen to tell them. She comes back, delivers our waters and slams it down on our table. Wtf?! Then brings my vegetables and chopstick, I ask her if I can have two forks she comes back and slams the damn forks on the table. She didn’t even refill our waters. When I was done and asked for a take out box she rolls her eyes and at the end when I gave her my money and asked if she had a plastic fork for my takeout she says no and slams the chopstick down. I seriously don’t know what was her deal, but I felt so mistreated there. The food is ok and arrives on a timely manner not to mention the prices are reasonably priced, but child… DONOTWASTEYOURTIMEHERE, the customer service is bullshit.

I liked Phở Kitchen when the original owners owned Phở Kitchen. The food tasted authentic and homemade back then. Yesterday, I took a take out order of Phở(Beef brisket and beef ball) and summer rolls. The lady that took my order took it promptly and the food was there on time for pick up. When I ate the phở, I felt like the beef didn’t taste that well. It felt like it wasn’t cut thinly and I was unimpressed by the lack of sliced round onions and parsley. The broth tasted okay along with the noodles. The phở tasted like it was okay, but I wouldn’t get it again because I was hoping for that, «Omg, I feel so refreshed now after eating phở» type of reaction since I get phở whenever I have a cold or seasonal allergies. The summer rolls were average quality. They were big in size, but not cut so I had to cut it into smaller pieces. The summer roll tasted fresh, but lacked the seasoning of summer rolls from Hale Vietnam(another phở place). In the summer roll, there was shrimp, noodles, rice, and lettuce. There was no herbs inside to give it an extra kick. The peanut sauce that came with it on the other hand was tasty, the peanuts were still crunchy after a day and it was sweet and a great compliment to the bland, but fresh summer rolls. Overall, I would go to Phở Kitchen, but it wouldn’t be my favorite place to go for phở.

«Ah… Mo water?» I’m surprised by the low rating here considering how good the food it here and the price is on point(for Hawaii). The phở is delicious, the won ton is amazing, but my favorite is the vermicelli as they make it with the traditional ingredients is BBQ, spring roll, and shrimp. Summer roll is huge! Yes, the young lady waitress may seem unfriendly, but I find her intriguing like a character from Diner Dash the game.

I remember this place used to have 4stars before they changed owners. Phở kitchen was me and my boyfriend’s favorite go to spot when we wanted phở! And boy do we eat phở a lot. It use to be amazing, delicious phở with my favorite meatballs, with good spring rolls, and oh so good summer rolls at reasonable prices! It was a cute family run restaurant … before they changed owners. So how is it now? Well one day me and my boyfriend decided to go grab some of our favorite phở, we didn’t expect it to be a full house considering every time we go it wasn’t very packed. With the full house we thought that the couple outside was waiting for a table and so we didn’t really know what to do since it was never packed. I decided to go in and ask for a table to wait on. Now this is where everything went down hill. I don’t know what the owner was thinking putting a youngish girl who could barely speak or seem to have any suitable skill to run as the restaurants ONLY server. Other then that she is very rude, not so bright, and very very unpleasant with an annoying blank stare. So I go inside approaching the counter a few feets straight from the door all smiling and this is how our convo goes. Me: «hi when do you think the next table will be open» Her: *looks up and stare* Me: do u know when the next table is open Her: *stare* mumble do… Mumble mumble Me: what??? *confused look and Leans in* Her: *stare*.(In accent but a little louder) I don’t know … Me:. Okay Wow. I never meet a server so hard to communicate with. So after that mess we just decided to wait outside until a table was open. If you never went to the restaurant it’s not big and it has a glass window so literally I can stand outside and look at the whole restaurant clearly and I can see the server girl behind the counter as she sits behind it and stares into nothingness. This part was even more annoying, as I look into the restaurant I notice an open table that just hasn’t been cleared. Now remember I was waiting with another couple outside. I was really bothered that she didn’t clear the table so we could get seated. After waiting maybe 10−30min not to sure(felt forever because it was cold and a rainy night) we were all still outside in the rain and the table isn’t cleared and another party left and no one bothers to clear that table. And all the server does is stares at us out the window??? Couple minutes go by and I’m just waiting for the other couple to go in and sit down because I didn’t want to cut in front of them I guess? Of course the 2 available tables were still not clear. After waiting a little longer we found out they got take out. Very aggravated that the server was just sitting there and not doing anything we decided to go in. And seat our selves at the uncleaned tables.(So did the waiting party behind us did the same) Finally the server gets up and cleans the table and give us our menu and waters with out a word but of course with her deadly stare. We order our usuals and of course it was very aggravating giving her our orders. I dont know why but someone in another review said the food is the same but to me it wasn’t, I felt that they changed the broth a little and did something different with there summer rolls. It wasn’t the kind of food we always came here for and it just wasn’t the same. I went up to pay and of course very very unpleasant to encounter her again with her mean stare. I wanted to get a full 10 $ back as change so I decided to throw in an extra dollar half a second after handing her my money and she said thank you because she took that dollar as a tip. I was very done and so was my boyfriend. We agreed never to come back and find a different spot to enjoy phở. RIP to the original phở kitchen, may someone help the new one.

Today was such a muggy rainy day, so my sister and I decided to eat phở! Who doesn’t love a bowl of phở! Food: The phở broth here is okay, the phở was just alright. I did however enjoy the spring rolls. My sister enjoyed the phở, they do put lots of meat and a lot of onions which i like as well. Water to drink they put a slice of lemon in that. My sprite that I ordered was warm and the girl didn’t even give me a glass with ice or anything just the can! Service: Our waitress had no personality, she kept staring at us for some strange reason, she was literally starting head on, idk if it was because we were the only people in the restaurant or what but it was a little weird. We did not enjoy that part!

I share the same experience with Katrina J. and the unpleasant server, who has discouraged me from coming here again. I had a wonderful experience at this place during my first visit last year– the soup was great, the meat(especially chicken) moist, and the service very nice. Perhaps I went during the time the previous family had owned this establishment. While the quality and taste has remained the same, customer service has definitely plummeted. Upon entering the restaurant, the server had a blank stare when I told her we were a party of three. No answer. You would expect her to guide you to a table or to tell you to sit anywhere, but I had to ask«…can we sit anywhere?» With an inexpressive«yes» we chose our table. I looked at the menu and saw that there was a new section called«Something Different» so I thought«nice, I’ll try something new.» I ordered the lemon basil chicken phở, which I assumed was, indeed, lemon basil chicken IN the phở. To my surprise, it was chicken katsu with phở on the side, which I definitely was not looking for. Perhaps the menu should be more specific. Although I am glad that they had changed my order with no fuss, the service continued to deter me from keeping a positive attitude about this place. The waitress served us with such an emotionless, blank demeanor. She would simply give us water or lemon when we asked and walked away. Perhaps this restaurant should hire friendlier servers who seem to actually want to work there or train their staff on how to be more personable.

It’s rare to find a phở place that uses non-beef broth so when my friend told me that Phở Kitchen offers both beef and chicken broth phở, I couldn’t wait to try this place! As soon as we sat down, our waitress brought us menus and waters. I was pleased with how quickly our food came out after we ordered – it must have taken less than 10 minutes! Our male server who brought out our food was very smiley and courteous – more so than our waitress actually. She wasn’t rude but it did seem like her mind was elsewhere at times. I ordered the seafood phở with chicken broth, which came with fish balls, shrimp, fried tofu, and imitation crab. The broth was warm and tasty but I wish it was piping hot(personal preference). The portion was huge! There were a lot of noodles but unfortunately, the ratio of seafood to noodles was a bit off. I usually do a pretty good job of rationing«the good stuff» throughout a meal but I ran out of fish balls, shrimp, and fried tofu about halfway through the noodles. Remembering that there was a page in the menu with«side orders» of lemon, fish balls, etc., I decided to place an order for a side order of the fried tofu. Assuming they would know exactly what I meant, I only said, «Could I please get a side order of tofu?» Minutes later, as I was fantasizing about eating more of those tasty fried tofu morsels with my phở, our server happily came out with a small plate of… steamed tofu. I shot my friend a look of dismay but not wanting to make our server feel bad, decided to just take it in stride. I later found out that even though they offer a wide list of things for side orders, tofu is not one of them xD They were doing their best to meet an unusual request and I appreciate that they were so accommodating.

Love soups and or phở and want to try a new phở twist or you want to try a fresh perspective? Give this place a try. Located in Market City closer to the Fernandez Fun Factory side of the bldg, it’s just a bit larger than a hole in the wall with all the comforts of a much larger very casual and relaxed-type restaurant: Clean, cool(cold a/c is a plus!), quiet, and comfortable with an extensive selection of soups, some appetizers, and a friendly staff person. So I ordered the shrimp curry phở and spring rolls and really really enjoyed them. I asked the waitress about the consistency for the curry phở which she explained is thickened by cornstarch. If you want a delicious curry-flavored phở soup rather than as a thicker sauce, be sure to order without the cornstarch. The spring rolls were accompanied by sufficient number of lettuce leaves for wrapping and the taste was very good, hot, and crunchy. Restrooms are right down the walkway outside but within the inner building walkway, you’ll just need the code to get in. The only complaint is about the restrooms! There once was a pet store in that building and the ever-present animo smell is most very much present in the restroom: When you do go into the women’s — at least — do not breathe deeply! Eeks! :( 2÷23÷2015: Tonite I see there are a bunch of menu edits(to my menu photos from 4 months ago)

1. Location Phở Kitchen is located in Market City Shopping Center right next to Café Kaila. You don’t need to worry about parking because there’s ample amount of parking stalls. 2. Interior The restaurant is is very small. There’s about 6 tables and it can fit about 25 people. Out of the many times I came here, I never had to wait for a table. 3. Food My go to food here is the Wonton Phở. It is very delicious. The phở comes with 5 pieces of won ton and it’s served with their dipping sauce. 4. Service Service here is great. Once you order, it takes about 5 – 10 minutes to get your food and they always make sure to refill your drink as well. I’ve ordered take-out from them and they’re fast and package the food well. The noodles, soup, and vegetables are all separated from each other and they tie it well to ensure nothing spills. 5. Extra Tips I love how they have a stamp card. For every phở you purchase, you get one stamp. Once you purchase 10 phos, you get 1 phở free.

This family run restaurant is conveniently located in the Market City Shopping Mall where Kapiolani Boulevard meets Waialae Avenue. I can only attest to the flavors and presentation of their phở as I’ve never eaten any other item on the menu. Their prices are reasonable but I feel they’re no great shakes IMHO. The broth is more flavorful than other phở places and has a hint of Chinese essence(perhaps five spice?). The meats are decent and the chicken is pre-peppered. The reason why I have eaten here for the last half dozen times is because it’s so close to my house when I need to satisfy my late night craving. The mom is really friendly and has her friends over when it’s slow. There’s a lot of chit chatting going on and the ambience is really casual and modest. The two kids(son and daughter) are often helping out as wait staff in between doing their homework and playing video games. Perhaps the reason why I don’t take their business seriously is because they lack discretion in being professional in front of their customers. In general, phở kitchen is «meh» but nothing much more than that.
