I read many other positive reviews on Unilocal prior to scheduling an appointment with Kathy, and the service definitely deserves 5 stars. She arrived a little late considering that I scheduled the appointment on a Sunday opening (but that’s okay). Also as a side note, if you’re coming in on a Sunday, you’ll have to remain at the lobby area and call Kathy to let you in (there’s a security door and apparently, it’s locked during weekends so THAT got me confused for a bit).
I scheduled a first-​time Brazilian with Kathy and she made me feel very comfortable and she was EXTRMELY thorough and I was VERY pleased with the results. I will surely come back to do a maintenance wax.

I’ve been getting Brazilian waxes from Kathy for at least 5 years and she had always made me feel comfortable. She does a great job and is worth good to! Like most Brazilians, it can hurt, but she makes it as painless as possible and is great to have a conversation with to pass the time!

URGENT: I usually don’t write reviews but my experience here was so bad that I decided to write one. the lady who did my Brazilian wax was extremely nice customer service was excellent but my Brazilian experience was horrible. This isn’t my first wax but the first time I went to this location after my Brazilian wax I was in a an extreme amount of pain I bumped up in my pelvic area which has never happened before in any previous Brazilian wax and I wouldn’t recommend anybody else go through this. When I informed the wax was too hot she did nothing to make it feel better and I just wouldn’t want anybody else to experience this

Best waxing plave ever! Easy free parking. In a nice big building. And Kathy is AMAZING! She makes you feel comfortable and the spa is very relaxing and beautiful. Highly recommended. Been coming here for 3 years.

Ditto to all the previous reviews. I found Kathy in Unilocal!Yeah and it’s 100% accurate. I go to her for waxes and she’s very thorough and efficient. She uses a combination of hard wax and the traditional sugar type. And ensures she’s got literally everything down there complete with lighted magnifying glass and tweezers! LOL it’s so convenient I walk there in my lunch breaks but if you are driving there’s also parking in the building and shell validate. She’s clean and quick and responsive. I usually text her and she can usually squeeze me in the same day. I’m so happy I found her through Unilocal

I recently moved to California from Hawaii and while I miss tons of things, this place is up there on my list I began going to Kathy in 2009 and was instantly a dedicated patron! She’s thorough, clean, and makes you feel comfortable in a situation that can easily get… uncomfortable. I’m seriously considering flying back to Hawaii to get my waxing done!

I don’t even know where to start. Kathy used to own Palms Beauty Spa and I always went to her for my Brazilian waxes back in ²⁰¹⁰⁄₂₀₁₁. I left the island for a year and when I came back Kathy was gone. The new owner said she retired/​was on vacation and that she could do my wax. I agreed and it was the worst wax of my life. She literally ripped my skin off. So I swore off waxing for a while (2 yrs to be exact). No way was I going to find a good wax specialist by trial and error. Well looking through Unilocal reviews I could not believe that this was the same Kathy that I used to go to. I immediately booked an appointment with dare I say it, Hawaii’s best wax specialist! She just cares about her work. She will get every little hair with tweezers if need be! Kathy makes you feel at home and makes the waxing process almost painless! I could just go on and on about this woman but you will only know what I mean once you go to her. I can’t believe I waited two years to get waxed but it was completely worth it to be reunited with Kathy again!!!

The second time I went to Kathy i barely had any n hair left! She is such a wizard with hair and it didn’t hurt. Very very little i promise! Anyhow going in again for a third time today before my trip as she suggested. She’s so kind and I know it’ll be another great experience. (6−30−15)
Wow! What an amazing experience with Kathy! She was so kind and gentle and most of all quick and had so much attention to detail. I have had Brazilian waxes before and Kathy was by far the best. Totally recommend! Definitely coming back!

Good waxing places are hard to come by and these are the rare places where everything is perfect. Kathy is quick for those who want to get eyebrow waxing done during business hours, 15 minutes tops if not less. If not she’s open until 7pm so you can go after work also.
Her waxing was painless and did not aggravate (especially with my sensitive skin — this is godsend), and she was an expert in shaping them nicely. The atmosphere was very clean and comfortable, with nice relaxing music perfect to de-​stress.
Will definitely go again. $ 20.94 for the eyebrow wax and worth every penny!

Kathy is the best! Have been seeing her for brazilian waxing since 2011. She is professional, and makes you feel very comfortable during the process! Her prices are affordable for Honolulu as well. She is always accomadating with appointment times and I look forward to my wax with her! We always talk and she is down to earth and very sweet!

This is absolutely the best waxing spa! The first time was very nervous for me and Kathy was very gentle, calm and made me feel comfortable. She’s an amazing person with a heart of gold that does excellent work and I highly recommend her for waxing!

This is the place to go! Kathy is awesome at what she does. I have been getting my waxing done from her for over 4 years now. She is very friendly and sooooo sweet. She is the only one I trust doing my Brazilian wax. I even trust her with my husband’s eye brow and chest waxing. This is also the perfect place to have a girl’s day out. I have recommended my friend’s to her and I will continue to recommend her.

Like most girls, I place a huge importance on waxing. It is so hard to find an esthetician that makes things comfortable but is also really good at their job. Kathy is the best! I recommend her to all of my friends and to anyone esle that will listen.
Before kathy, I had tried many different estheticians and salons. I was ecstatic when I went to kathy and I have never had better results. Not only is she the best at her job but she does everything to make you feel most comfortable. She validates parking, you can text her to schedule appointments, and her studio salon is so relaxing. She thinks of everything! For whatever salon service you may be searching, I recommend giving kathy a call.

I have been coming to see cathy for years now… i love the realxing enviornment and how its so welcoming… this is one appt that I wont miss… this place is must stop on a girls day out!!!

First, I don’t normally wrote reviews, but in this case, I’ve made an exception. I’m a 23-​year old female surfer who spends ALOT of time in a bikini. My skin is incredibly sensitive to heat and saltiness. So naturally, I’m going to be picky when it comes to a good waxing salon. I look for good service, quality product, and quality of the job done. Palms is the ONLY place that has excelled at all these attributes. Kathy is a super friendly, licensed and trained provider. She’s incredibly flexible with her time and works to suit your schedule not the other way around. She uses both hard and soft wax imported from France and my sensitive skin has never reacted poorly towards it. Finally, the quality of her work is VERY thorough– no hair left behind. She actually uses a magnifying glass to remove ingrowns and stragglers that don’t cling to the wax. Yeah, I know that might be TMI but still for $ 50 you get back what you pay for.

I’ve gotten brazillians at other salons and always end up tweezing or shaving spots they missed, but that never happens with Kathy. I have been getting waxed by Kathy since at least 2010 (maybe 2009 even). She is AWESOME! I go the Brazilian route and not only is she super speedy, but the whole thing is just about as pain-​free as waxing can get! I also get my eyebrows done and I fully trust Kathy to not go overboard or do anything weird to them — I had some traumatizing eyebrow waxing experiences as a teenager so this is no small thing.
Kathy is also super super sweet, friendly, and accommodating. I know that some people are very regimented about their waxing, scheduling appointments exactly every 4.87 weeks or something. Well… I’m more the type that will not think about the issue for several weeks/​months and suddenly realize out of nowhere, «I MUST GET WAXED IMMEDIATELY — THIS CANNOT WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW!» And Kathy is totally okay with that and always finds a way to work you in! So great!
All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend Kathy for all your waxing needs! Even if you have had bad experiences with other waxers and are a bit nervous — give Kathy a chance! She will take good care of you. :)

Kathy has always welcomed every guest with a big smile. She is very friendly, sweet and accommodating. Just tell her when you need her and she will be there in the next half an hour. — I always text her last minute. Sorry Kathy!
Her business card states days of the week and hours but it is only by appointment.
