Been coming here for awhile, all of them do ok a pretty good job. Helen is my favorite, just pull a ticket then give it too her to reserve a spot with her. I forgot the Filipino guys name hes always on the first seat on the right, hes good also. I get a skin medium fade and am aways happy. If u tryna get a fohawk or something metro lol go to a beauty shop. And please shave your so called man beard because your skinny jeans makes it invalid. Hahaha

On my first visit I would’ve rated 4 out of 5. That’s because it was crowded and I had to wait 30 to 45 minutes to get my haircut. Every time a uniform came in and just kept pushing me back on waiting. When I finally got to get my haircut a female cut my hair and I loved it! It actually was faded evenly and came around even. So other than not being in uniform, it was a pleasant. And for $ 11, come on! Now the second visit I came on and at around the same weekday. No line at ALL! Just a consistent available barber at a time. So I quickly got serviced. Lucky me it was the guy barber. I asked for a medium fade and a little off the top. He asked me if 2 was ok and I guessed and said sure. Anyways, he game me no fade, if anything you could see skin, then a layer of hair, then longer hair. I saw attempted fades in patches around my head. I guess the problem was uneven cutting all around. Ruined my first experience. I’m going back but trying to get my first barber. Avoiding the guy!

I went in, showed the woman cutting my hair a picture of the style I wanted, I told her twice very clearly, nothing off of the top… I am missing at least an inch probably more of my hair. I was refunded my money but I still felt compelled to write a review. You show a picture and clearly state not to do something and they screw it up, never going to you folks again. Be warned my people. Oh yea, It was crazy too, as she was cutting my hair, I was COMPLETELY still, she needed to move my head, she made a cut, then said«don’t move, you are moving» I didn’t move a Centimeter as I did not want her to fuçk up my hair(like she did anyway), I guess she felt the need to say that as she made a mistake and wanted to blame me. Never again.

Giving 1 star because I can’t give 0. Got my haircut today and the lady only cut half of my hair. Never will I go back to this place. Regulation barbershop in Kailua is 100 times better.

My usual barber wasn’t there today so I took a number and took my chance, bad mistake the guy who cut my hair butchered it and I have a ball this weekend. I’m very unhappy.

Its a barber shop. Majority of the workers are oriental/asian descent which is quite comforting for me. There is a language barrier though if you should decide to have a conversation. Some of them pretend to understand every word you say and laugh along with you. Its interesting to watch sometimes how you can tell they have no interest in what you are trying to say. All they want to do is cut your hair. They DO understand the lingo like«skin fade, etc…» And they do a great job! And… whoever wants to know there is NO happy ending here. Just a simple, nice haircut.

Price is right, and the service is quick. The ladies working here are all pretty good from my experience. They use electric clippers with the vacuum attached so the place is kept pretty clean. Active duty in uniform get’s first priority, but that’s fine. Do not go to the barber shop on Fort Shafter, they have two ladies that butcher my hair and comb it some completely different style than when I walk in. I come out of the place with my hair combed like Adolf Hitler… terrible! I’ve came here since 2007, and no bad experience.

Its a typical military Barber shop. Its quite fast compared to others. All of the staff are at about the same skill level, some people have favorites. They can do mean low regs, to the screaming high and tight. You choose they cut you pay and you are on your way.

Going to see my barber Thao. She is the best and is very friendly. Gonna miss her when I leave, because I am very particular when it comes to my hair.

For the price, they’re not bad. Customer service is good. Depending on the time of day, it can be very busy. Be patient if your ticket number is less than 12. Some customers end up leaving which shortens your wait time. After a few visits you’ll figure out which barber cuts your hair the way you like. You’ll also figure out the best time that fits your schedule.

I have been coming here every two weeks for three years and I’ve never had a bad experience. Everyone is professional and is good at their job. Haircuts are ten bucks a pop for the standard military cut. As with all NEX establishments, a DoD ID card is required. This place can get pretty busy on the weekends so if you’re military, come here during the week in uniform so you can get in and out in a hurry. Even still, I usually come here on a Sunday afternoon and although it is busy, I never wait for longer then 20 minutes at the most. For ten bucks, it’s cheaper then fantastic sams or supercuts. Can’t beat it!

Likely the worst military barber shop on the island, but the most convenient. Always crowded, especially on the weekends, and the barbers all rush through haircuts in a speed race instead of focusing on quality. I have yet to walk away from there saying, «now that’s a great haircut»…never happens. I’ve had several of the barbers and none of them would ever get hired in a barber shop that had to rely on quality work to gain customers instead of simply convenience and a corner on military personnel numbers. Not recommended if you are looking for an actual quality haircut and not just a quickie buzz saw.
