Staff is always so friendly, cheerful n never unhappy. Customer service at this location is one… excuse me the best that I have ever been to… Always quick and never have to wait in drive thru so long. Love this location… Only thing is my ice coffee is a little more costly then town. But weekends I always go to this location, worth the two days of paying a little more. Awesome staff!

This place is the best! WiFi Internet, flat screen TV’s with ESPN, electrical outlets, and professional staff. They also have specially priced menu items and meal deals that other McDonald’s restaurants don’t participate or offer. They have traditional Hawaiian music playing while you enjoy your dine in meal or snack. I have no complaints about this McDonald’s location and visit regularly on a weekly basis.

Good ‘ol Aina Haina McDonalds! I swear, if it wasn’t so dang close to my house, I wouldn’t go there. Went there last night, ordered some food, total came out to $ 18.16. Gave the girl $ 20.16, and she gave me back 4 cents. WTH? I said the total was $ 18.16 right? She said yes. And I gave you $ 20.16, so why are you giving me back 4 cents??? At this time she looks totally confused, obviously she couldn’t do the math, got frustrated, started yelling for the manager, manager came they spoke in Micronesian, she walked away leaving the manager there. The manager asked what happened? I said the order total was $ 18.16 and I gave the girl $ 20.16 and she gave me back 4 cents. She said«Oh, sorry» and proceeded to hand me back 6 cents? Are you fahreeeking kidding me? Actually, i found it funny and laughed. I asked«what is this for?» She said sorry again and took the change back. Then she hands me a one dollar bill. I laugh some more. I said 20 – 18 is 2 right? So shouldn’t I get $ 2 back? She said«oh, yeah, sorry» and proceeded to hand me $ 2. Oh, the comedy! 2 stars for the laugh!

This McDonald was the first in Hawaii opened in 1968 by Mr. Maurice Sullivan also the founder of the Foodland supermaket chain. Typical McDonalds here with full drive thru service.

Every time I’ve been thru the drive thru i get courteous service and my Frappé is perfect each time. I really think you need to make the taro pie a permanent item on your menu. The apple pie sometimes is a little too tart.

To keep calories down for a quick meal, I always order a grilled chicken snack wrap with ranch dressing and a parfait. The snack wrap and parfait are packaged in two separate bags, one hot, one cold. Today, it was packaged in the same bag. The parfait was melted and the wrap cold. Asked for a new wrap, I received a microwaved snack wrap that was too hot to touch, cooked lettuce and hot ranch dressing. The parfait and had melted down to half way.

Unilocal 100 Challenge #15/100 I’ve been coming to this McDonalds for as long as I can remember. Being that it was the first McDonalds in Hawaii, it’s been around for a while. Only recently did they upgrade their building and it looks great by the way. I do like the fact there is two drive through windows. When they only had one window with their old location, the line of cars would back up; but I hardly if ever see a line waiting for drive through when I’m there. For me personally I don’t like drive through and find it faster to walk in. This is one of the very few drive throughs I like and I never, ever had a problem with my food or order. When I’m at the restaurant it is always clean and the service is fine. I’ve always gotten my food in a timely fashion and the staff has always been good there. For example, if I am looking for a certain toy for my son’s happy meal, they will take the time to look through the available toys to see if they have it. That’s great service! Overall, I’ll be coming back to this McDonalds for years to come. Aloha!

this McDonalds service is terrible, may be they are totally unhappy that they are being under paid by the owner or the owner just hand picked a bunch of zombies who could careless if bring them business or not! Went back to this McDonalds after my last review with a friend for breakfast, service is still as bad as my last visit, the people working there are slow, and seem not interested in serving customers… too bad!

They tore down the first McDonald’s in Hawaii! I’d much rather see what McDonalds could have done remodeling the existing restaurant instead of doing their corporate cookie cutter design, although admittedly a pretty cool design. It would be nice to still have been able to point at that McDonald’s and say it was the first one on the island, but instead it’s demolished. Lost history aside, McDonald’s has always been consistent. I mean that in a very positive way. They have always been ahead in the fast food business. Adding new things and new specials. The service and quality of food has been good. Other fast food chains can learn a thing or two. I frequent this place about once a week since I live in the area. The only thing that is kinda odd to me, is while you’re in the drive thru, they stick your food out the window as if to say, here come and get it doggy. I could do without that. I am afraid if my car side mirror will hit my food on the ground and I have to lick the food off the ground. Bada-da-dadaaaa I’m lovin’ it!

I came here with my friends after hiking up Kokohead. We probably came at the right time because the 20 pieces of chicken McNuggets tasted about as good as they have ever tasted. I also had a taro pie. It was my first and it was pretty darn tasty, better than their apple pie. They have a counter in the middle with power outlets so you can charge your laptop or cellphone. Their chairs and stools were very new looking and pretty comfortable for a fast food restaurant. Definitely one of the better McDonald’s I’ve visited.

So my son wanted to eat at McDonald’s. He wanted to eat in the restaurant. So we went to the one in Aina Haina since it was on our way home. We ordered the 4 piece Chicken Nugget happy meal for my son, I ordered the fillet-o-fish meal without tarter sauce, hubby got the chicken sandwich meal with a side order of chicken nuggets. Total came out to $ 20 and change. Our number was 77. We didn’t get our cups for our drinks after we paid. That was fine, it shouldn’t take long I thought. A dad with two kids come in 10 minutes after us and ordered two happy meals. Their order #79 got called. Hubby and I gave each other the look. Okay, maybe we ordered more so we have to wait longer. Ten minutes passed… okay, I’m getting thirsty while we wait. Went up to the counter and asked if we could get our drinks first. Cashier goes«oh, you didn’t get your order?» Ummmm«no, I said. We are order #77. I see a filet-o-fish on a tray with our number and it said no tarter sauce sitting there so I pointed to it and continued to say, «we didn’t get anything». They gave me two cups for our drinks. While I made our drinks, they were making our order. Waited for another five minutes… it was ready. But they forgot the chocolate milk for my son. Got that pretty quickly when I pointed it out. Got to our seating area. Son was happy with his french fries and asked if he got a toy. So I checked. It was a girl’s toy. I took it back and asked if they had a boy’s one. They gave me a skateboard in exchange for the pink doll. Much better. Got back to the seating area. Son was happy. Ate my fries first as they get cold fast. It wasn’t fresh. That happens. So now I opened my filet-o-fish. I hate tarter sauce so I lifted the bun to check out of habit. Guess what greets me? Yup… tarter sauce in the sandwich when it was clearly marked on the receipt attached to the top of the box. Took the box back to the cashier. Told her I ordered the filet-o-fish without tarter sauce. She looks at the box and said, «yes, it says ‘no tarter sauce’.» «I know that, but it has tarter sauce in it». She lifted the bun. A this point I am shaking my head. A guy shift manager I think yelled into the back saying why did they put tarter sauce when it wasn’t suppose to have on!?! Make another one fast he said. Okay…waited again. Yet another 10 minutes goes by… didn’t see anything in the heating area. Started to get irritated. Losing my appetite. Looking to see if it will pop up in the bin soon. Nope. Walked up and asked it my filet-o-fish was still coming. I was asked what I ordered. What??? I’ve been here how long and you don’t know what I’m waiting for? No wonder I’m not getting my food. I told them a filet-o-fish with no tarter sauce. Told them if it’s not made, I want to just cancel my order so we can leave because my son and hubby was done with their food by this point. Manager asked if I was given a receipt. Went back and grab it and handed it to her. Hubby came to me to tell me let’s just go. It’s not worth it. So I said fine and we thew away our trash and left. It was not worth waiting yet another 10 minutes for our refund. Yes, it’s a McDonald’s. You expect your orders to get messed up once in awhile. Service? Not expecting any great service. You just hope they get your order right. Especially at the drive thru. But what transpired tonight was just terrible. Not once did anyone acknowledge us their mistake and apologized. No one followed our order thought after the first wait, or the second wait. Nothing. Left very disappointed.

This location seems to always get my order wrong by including condiments on my food after I repeatedly asked to omit them, like no salt on the fries, no mayo on the McChicken, no pickles on the burger, etc. The workers who take the orders at the drive thru also always seem annoyed and in a hurry, even when there is no one behind me in line. 2 weeks ago, I got so mad because they got both my BF and my orders wrong, so I called to complain when I got home, and to the manager’s credit, she handled it well. She apologized, checked with the workers who had made the order, and told us that we could come back any time to get replacements for the items that had been wrong. She also assured us that she had made a note of our conversation in her complaint book. I still haven’t taken her up on that offer yet, but I am interested to see how that goes down…

They have spam breakfast plates here. When in Hawaii do as the Hawaiians do! hehe. I had to check out McDonald’s just to see spam and eggs on the menu. Bf ate most of it and I enjoyed my hash brown. The eggs from the breakfast plate were so square… is this typical? I never get the breakfast plates from McDonald’s so I wouldn’t know. We got our food quick and eat and were on our way to Sea Life Park.

Great layout, cheap McDonald’s coffee, an okay dollar menu, and service got better than the beginning of the year(when I first came through the driveway): all that deserves four stars. What happened to that fifth star you ask? It got taken away when this establishment took fifteen minutes to make ONE cup of coffee! Plus, they forgot the stirrer and the cream. The result? I made it home okay, but… I never slept that night and I had a big midterm the next day. I started crashing out during the test. Well, enough of my personal trauma. This place has a great layout when you go inside. For a small McDonald’s, this place has great décor. The service has gotten a whole lot better. Plus, you don’t want to deal with a rotten employee late at night. This place is a solid four stars. Happy Unilocaling Unilocalers!

This location used to be my favorite McDonalds. I kind of even got over the fact that it is so small now and the drive through is awkward. BECAUSE(drum roll, please), this is the only location where I never had problems with the workers understanding my order. Apparently, I don’t speak very clearly or something… I always have trouble. Anyways, I loved coming here and having my order swiftly taken. Until this past weekend when I tried to get some breakfast. My entire order was wrong. I ordered two breakfast sandwiches, a burrito, iced coffee, and a coke. The girl handing us the food even repeated my order to me. We drove away only to find that there was no burrito. Parked, walked inside to get another burrito… then back in the car, found that they were the wrong sandwiches and my iced coffee had the wrong syrup. What happened!!! P. S.85cent, any-size drinks(might be weekends only).

Never ate in just went through the drive through for hot fudge sundaes and sodas/waters. They have specials that other McD’s don’t have like 99 cent any size soda or coffee on the weekends. Just be wary of what size they give you. When you order an extra large sometimes they short change you and try to give you a large instead. New restaurant and 24 hour service coming soon! I can’t wait!
