Sadly, I have to tell you that Le Crêpe Café at Manoa is no more. At least not in it’s previous location(please if you know if it changed locations please let me know. I know about downtown one…). We were going for tacos at Serge’s and as is our custom were going to have crepes for dessert(little unusual combo, but hey, it works… yum). And shock of shocks… Le Crêpe Café was closed. I meant to ask the taco people what happened but they were so busy that I didn’t have a chance. Sniff… me sad

I reviewed the Le Crêpe Café on Dole Street(the crêpe stand by the UH Law school) and the review wasn’t very good but I visited the café on E. Manoa road which totally changed my perspective. Last year I used to get crepes all the time. Then this semester I went back again and my crêpe experience wasn’t the best, so I stopped getting crepes. But for some reason, I was craving them so bad yesterday so I went to the café in Manoa. The café is small and cozy. It’s in between Bostons and Serg’s, easy to miss but there’s always parking. I walked in and there was one employee working. Employees really sway my decision of how good a restaurant is, especially since I work in the restaurant business. The guy who was working, Storm, was really friendly and helpful and made me such a good crêpe! I got the pesto pesto(chicken, mozzerella cheese, pesto) without tomatoes and I added mushrooms and garlic. I’m such a difficult customer cause I always sub things out but he was completely patient. They also have lunch specials where you can get a savory and a sweet crêpe for $ 10. I’m not a huge eater so I passed but if I were with my boyfriend or something I’d probably get it. If you are craving crepes, I would definitely visit this location over the UH one. It’s not as hectic and much more satisfying.

They just started making this caramel apple crêpe and it’s sooooooo good. The lady who was working described it as an apple pie in a crêpe and that is exactly how I would describe it. It’s AWESOME, especially with the lunch special where you can get two crepes for a set price.(can’t remember exactly what it was…$ 10 I think???) The bbq chicken is one of my favorites when I’m craving something tangy, and more so because I like cilantro. The moulin rouge is also pretty good along with the chicken and mushroom. Actually never mind, everything is good.

My boyfriend and I shared the caramelicious crêpe today after ordering lunch nextdoor from Boston’s Pizza. It consisted of apple bananas, caramel cream & walnuts(although we ordered it without). We also decided to treat ourselves and ordered our crêpe with ice cream(an additional $ 1.50). Altogether, the cost of our treat was a little under $ 8, but worth every bite. Overall, the crêpe was delicious! I almost didn’t believe it tasted as good as it did. Who would’ve known that these simple ingredients could come together in such a magical combination. I will definitely be coming back again!

would give more«stars»(rating) if I could. This place is absolutely great!!! I spent allot of time in France and this is the first place in USA that I can say it tastes similar or even the same!!! this business needs to do some advertising, I had no clue this place existed until my wife did a search for«crêpe» on google… and then we had problem finding it when we drove to Manoa… there is some«invisible» sign on a sidewalk and that’s it. I leave in Kailua and know for a fact if it was advertised in Kailua about Le Crêpe, people would come over… there ate allot of Europeans live in Kailua area… this place offers 2-crêpe’s for $ 10 during weekdays, usually one crêpe is $ 7 or $ 8, so definatelly come over here, it is great food!!!

This hole in the wall(literally, hard to find tucked in between Boston’s and sergs) crêpe café is a cozy little place. No a/c, so be warned its hot outside and even more inside. Photos submitted by fellow Unilocalers was promising, but just like an online dating profile picture, misleading. The bf and I got Le special and the simple butter and sugar one. Crêpe was overdone. So much so that it was rubbery :(and a bit burnt. Also, needed more sugar/flavor. Something. Le special was a tad better, but again, overdone crêpe, not quite ripened strawberries, and not enough sugar. Just blah overall, unfortunately. I thought Todai had better crepes. And at about $ 7 bucks a pop and inconvenient parking, I’ll pass.

What do you do after you eat one of Hawaii’s most delicious mexican food? Go have a crêpe at Le Crêpe Café for dessert that’s what! Located next to Sergs and Boston pizza in Manoa, Le Crêpe Café is definitely delicious. Tried this place for the first time a few days ago because Sergs didnt have flan in stock and I Neeeded dessert! Anywho, lets talk décor, for a teeny tiny place, this place is one thing: cute!!! The walls have a beautiful europe inspired mural, they offer free water, theres mini chairs and chalkboard area for the kiddies, its soooo cute. And for a tiny place, they have like 6 chairs inside(check out the dimly lit, cozy 2 seater tucked in a bookcase), and enough to sit like 8 outside. Service wise, the lady there is soooooo nice and accomodating, she was closed but because we were still in there, continued to take customer orders anyway. She was so nice. And then the food, can you say heaven? We had the caramel crêpe with caramel crème bananas and pecans. It was sweet and sort and everything a crêpe should be. My only gripe… no ice cream. :(Hence the 4 instead of 5 stars. It was really good, but I think ice cream wouldve put that crêpe into ecstasy level. It was still delicious though and I will be back.

Ah. Nothing makes crepes more authentic than a guy who speaks French to you while making your savory treat… on the side of the road in Manoa. All kidding aside, Le Crêpe Café is very welcome addition to the eateries that populate the UH of M campus. The offer a quaint menu, handwritten on a board in front of their kiosk that screams deliciousness. I was able to order one called«The Breakfast of Champions» and found that it was stuffed with cheese, bacon and other breakfast components. The crêpe itself, while stuffed, did not leave me feeling stuffed which I feel was pretty awesome. There’s nothing worse than eating breakfast but feeling too full to do anything productive for the rest of the day. It’s been a little while since I’ve been there so I don’t remember the details on the pricing. I know it was pretty affordable and I’m looking forward to returning a second time. or more.

(Eat the Street experience) I ordered the Moulin Rouge($ 7): a savory crêpe with mozzarella, sweet basil, tomatoes, and turkey slices. The crêpe was beautifully made, paper-thin with a light golden brown on the outside. My parents and my friend didn’t necessarily care for the crêpe… they mentioned they wanted something crispy instead — but um, then that’s not a crêpe, guys(slaps head). On the other hand, I thought the crêpe was fine. Cutting into it was a thing of beauty, seeing the white(mozzarella), ted(tomato), and green(basil) was so pleasing to the eye. This was really a margherita-type crêpe with turkey in it. For $ 7, I would have liked a bit more filling, though(wasn’t much inside to marvel at). I think it just needs something more(maybe some form of seasoning or sauce, perhaps?) to just take it to the next level and make it more memorable. Just can’t quite put my finger on it… I like sweet crepes as well, but preferably a real good savory choice would take priority for me.

Nutella + bananas + peanut butter = Best. Crêpe. Ever. I know that I should be more healthy and that I eat waaaay too many desserts, but when asked what I want in a crêpe, how can I choose savory over sweet? Anything that has nutella in it is automatically going to trump something that has a tomato in it. Sorry health freaks, I’m just speaking the truth. You can buy a crêpe of happiness for $ 7 and on weekdays they have a 2 for $ 10 crêpe special! The service at Le Crêpe Café was great and I love how quickly everything gets made. Unfortunately I don’t know the name of my crêpe, but I do know that it’s guaranteed that I’ll be returning for the Best. Crêpe. Ever. Unilocal 365 Challenge: #45/365(The Nutella)

okay. so i lied. I said I would update it as soon as I was done eating and i didn’t. Shoot me: p… anyway, 10 visits later and an updated review, the result is: STILLLOVINGIT! The sexy french guy is still there making the oh so delicious crepes. The Wonderful female who I think is his wife is still very friendly and kind. The people who work behind the counter usually don’t speak the best of english but they know what I want and deliver exactly the way that i like it. I’ve brought a few classmates with me and now we frequent the place when there’s a quick lunch break. We order different items from one another and from what I’m told they love what they get and I love my Romeo and Juliet so apparently EVERYTHING is yummy. Try it yourself and decide… if you see me in line, you know my order. Merci!

Up in Manoa, sandwiched between Boston’s Pizza and Serg’s Mexican place. I’ve come here a few times now. The first time they had a crêpe station outside and 2 inside. Now it’s just the 2 crêpe stations inside(bad idea!). I usually come for lunch since I’m at UH and it’s close by. Since there’s only 2 crêpe stations, they only need 1 person manning the place. Each time I’ve gone, I feel like I want to go help out bcs that person is always overwhelmed with the people waiting, taking new orders and trying to pump out the crepes. Why isn’t there other people helping out during lunch hours? and where the other crêpe stations? bring one back to help out. I usually get the Moulin Rouge which has turkey slices, tomatoes, I think mozzarella(it’s a white cheese) and basil. The last time I went, last week, the tomatoes were no longer the cherry tomatoes and the basil was all wilted, dark and limp. I think times are rough but seriously regular beefsteak tomatoes in a crêpe? that’s a no-no! Oh, I love their home-made lemonade, it’s so refreshing with a touch of orange, super yummy! The décor is cute; frenchy and has that touch of romance. The place is not air-conditioned, so no matter if you sit inside or out, you will be quite hot.

I got the fruit filled crêpe with honey. It was good, but I’ve had much better crepes. They should be more generous with the fruits and honey. Maybe they could put honey on the outside too? These crepes sit on a plate; they’re not the kind that are like a gyro shape. The décor is pretty cute. It would be a good dessert place for a first date. Not too romantic, but not too casual.

Awesome awesome crepes! Nom! I love the Tsunami Crêpe(I tried it off a friend). I got the Moulin Rouge to share with my boyfriend, along with the Honey Lovers for the lunch special, which is a great deal. I like the Moulin Rouge but it’s a little too basil for me(but perfect for most people). And I wish it had more filling. The Honey Lovers is good though more honey would be appreciated. I would get the Tsunami or Moulin Rouge next time for sure. I would also return for a Romeo et Juliette too. That was delicious. The lunch special is great. I was surprised not more people were there to take advantage of that! I was a little surprised that tap water cost money(I guess for the cup) but it was a decent size cup so whatever. It’s only 25cents. I’m definitely returning. One star off for the fact that the outside menu is written in NEON which is freakin’ horrible in the sunlight just glinting off of the WHITE cardboard AND neon. What the hell. I’m sorry — black, as a fail safe, would have been much much better and less horrible on my poor eyes. Also for the fact that there’s very little seating and horribly hot and uncomfortable when the sun is up. Bigger umbrellas or find a better way to shade the exterior tables, please! :)

I admit I’m a total sucker for specials, coupons, groupons, limited-time only offers, red tag sales, clearance… You get the picture. So Le Crepes’ Unilocal ad for the $ 9.99 lunch special(you get to choose one savory and one sweet) was an irresistible draw when deciding where in Manoa to eat. I was also excited to find out this was the same creperie tent that I tried unsuccessfully to get my sweet fix at the last Street Grindz festival(after ordering and waiting over an hour I just asked for a refund…) Once I discovered my lunch companion was knowledgeable in all things crêpe, I put all my trust in the hands of the expert Olivia D. — she never disappoints! Her order sounded so damn good I went for the exact same things. We even considered dining together in the cute little couples table inside but in the end decided to dine al fresco with the sounds of a fiesta blaring out of the Serg’s dining area. Super romantic! Our choices: Savory — The tsunami — all of their veggies with mozzarella and turkey Sweet — The special — strawberries, bananas, whipped cream, and melted butter I found the crepes to be nice and light, I liked that they staggered the order and waited to prepare our sweet crepes until we were finished with our savory so we could enjoy them fresh off the griddle. An extremely filling and satisfying lunch! Now that i’ve had it I don’t think it’s something i’d crave, the price is relatively reasonable considering what you would pay for just one crêpe there but for $ 11,(extra .99 when you choose the Tsunami) your lunch dollar can go much further elsewhere.

I’ve been to France and I’ve actually tried making crepes on my own and the ones here at Le Crêpe Café are decent but not amazing. I mean they’re kinda overpriced. When you think about what goes into a crêpe, it’s not a whole lot of stuff and the ingredients aren’t that expensive. It seems that they think because it’s a crêpe, they can charge you an arm and five legs. Google a recipe for crepes and you’ll see the most costly items are the fillings. I mean if I want just banana and nutella, it shouldn’t come near $ 10. Seriously. I don’t know but I just find this place overpriced. Sure it’s cutesy and quaint but totally not worth the cost. Random note… since Serg’s is sharing the lot with them, there’s no parking anywhere. Annoying for sure!

My friend and I went here for lunch today. We split the lunch special which includes a savory crêpe and a dessert crêpe.(Basically a food-food crêpe and a dessert crêpe.) $ 9.00 We wanted eggs in our veggie crêpe so that was an extra $ 0.99 and then since our dessert crêpe, The Special, had strawberries, we had to pay an extra $ 0.99. Total $ 12.53 for 2 crepes. The veggie crêpe was ok, I’ve had better. The Special was good… but I think it lacked something. Oh yah, fruits. Didn’t we pay an extra $ 0.99 for strawberries? How come there’s like only 5 slices? LoL. Parking? Well, let’s just say I had to double park behind my friend. Will I go back? Well, maybe if my friends want to go, but I wouldn’t go out of my way~

Real, French style savory and sweet crepes! Delicious! Le Crêpe Café is located up the road in Manoa, sandwiched between a Boston’s Pizza and Serg’s Mexican Flautas. The very friendly staff greeted us as we walked in, and the place was clean and tidy. There are a couple places to sit inside, but the outdoor seating is plentiful(and very nice to enjoy on a clear sunny day). We ordered the Veggie savory crêpe, and the Romeo & Juliet sweet crêpe; and within 3 minutes or so, our order was served to us… The Veggie Crêpe was fantastic! The tender crêpe was filled with a ton of mozzarella, spinach, basil, and cherry tomatoes. Each ingredient was fresh and full of flavor… very tasty! The Romeo & Juliet Crêpe was filled with bananas, sliced strawberries, and warm chocolate sauce. A very smooth, sweet, and delicious combination. All in all, the prices were good, service was great, and the food was excellent. Head down and sample the menu of Le Crêpe Café. They also have a nice selection of Coffee and tea. Parking lot is small, but you can park on the street or across the way as well. Bön appetite!

«Where did your first crêpe go???» the Boy asked me. I turned to him with my mouth stuffed with their Romeo and Juliette crêpe and pointed to my tummy and smiled = D Every single time I drove by, their parking lot was overflowing and then some. Today, I got lucky when the boy picked me up on my break to take me to get lunch, there were parking spots opened!!! Their lunch special was a great deal. One savory and one sweet crêpe for $ 10. Each crêpe cost roughly $ 7 so the special will save you lots. I got the veggie crêpe which included spinach, cheese, and basil(no tomatoes for me). I also ordered the Romeo and Juliette crêpe, strawberries, bananas and Nutella for about a dollar more(for berry crepes). I was so excited to get my hands on these yummy looking babies! The veggie crêpe tasted similar to a pizza because of the mozzarella and basil. I ate that thing so fast since I really wanna try the sweet one. I was in heaven when I sunk my teeth into the Romeo and Juliette. Not too sweet and the fresh fruits really stood out. I loved every moment of the 15 minutes it took me to eat the two; yeah, it was that good and filling! The lone guy that was manning the entire café had ONE glove on. I told myself to pay attention to whether or not he took it off while handling food and money but I forgot at the moment I paid since there was a long line. I really don’t think he took off that glove but I will pretend none of this has happened since I’m still alive and well.

I’m so delighted that Le Crêpe Café finally has a permanent home! I loved it when they were in the parking lot at Manoa Marketplace from time to time, but let’s face it: Standing in a line(because they’re so awesome) on that asphalt was no fun at all. The crepes here are amazing, whether you choose a sweet one(ex: Honeymoon, made from bananas, honey and butter) or a savory one(ex: Le Moulin Rouge, made from melted cheese, chicken, tomato and fresh basil). Each crêpe is hand-crafted before your very eyes, as the charming husband and wife owners regale you with tales from the streets of Paris or just chat with you about your day in Honolulu. And the atmosphere they’ve created inside the shop is very, very cute. I haven’t tried the coffee here yet — not because I’m afraid to, but because I just can’t tear myself away from a new discovery: the eau de jouvence. The eau de jouvence is homemade with squeezed lemon, diced berries, fresh mint and organic orange blossoms, then sweetened with agave. They sell it for $ 1.95 a glass, and it is the most delightfully refreshing drink I’ve had in a long time. Try it. You’ll find yourself stopping in for just that on occasion! Looking forward to paying the café many a visit!
