Growing up I couldn’t get enough of Kentucky Fried Chicken. We would walk blocks to grab a bucket for a family meal. When I was down, it was my number one comfort food. I made tonight a mystery meal for my family. I stopped at the KFC that is on my way from work to home. This precise KFC. Their special $ 25 meal looked good, but I wanted to change a couple of things that I knew were my family’s faves. I asked for subsitute of another slaw for one of the two mashed potatoes. Uh… no. something about it being a $ 10 discount… or something. The cute little slip of a girl, barely past 18, didn’t seem to have breath in her body to express herself loud enough to be heard in a small, but noisy, room. Still I know how specials are, and this one was getting less special by the moment. So, I decided to just add another slaw to the order. Whats another $ 5 for the enjoyment in satisfying my family? Then I asked to have the chicken half original and half extra crispy. The little girl in front of me said that there was a 7 minute wait on the extra crispy. Hey… I had no problem with that either. I can bend… I’m getting my meal, my way… right? I just hope the person who got my meal enjoyed it. When I got home, tired already from working all day, waiting for the food and driving in traffic(only saving grace was it was not H1 traffic!!), I was SHOCKED to see only crispy chicken AND no extra slaw. Yes, thats right, I’m rich enough to just suck it up! After all, I still got a lot of good food, right? HEY, I ask, did KFC make it this many years in business by messing up like this? This meal is laking the ingrediant the KFC chicken gave me years past. What is missing is the comfort. Comfort from an order put together right, respect for getting their order right, treatment in showing the customer attentiveness, speaking up so they can be heard, and food delivered as ordered. Was I to check the meal before I left? I guess so. I did call and speak to the manager. He wanted the receipt number. I didn’t have it. He said bring the chicken back and they would give me the extra slaw I ordered. I didn’t. I told them I was tired, that I would let it go and probably just take my business elsewhere. So, Im following up with this review. KFC is still good food. This place made a mistake. At least learn from this old fool and take an extra minute to look your food over. Thanks for letting me vent.

Grabbed a quick bite here, the aunt working the register was very friendly and efficient. Got me some good old fried chicken, but mainly I wanted the slaw and biscuits. 9npy issue was another lady on the back talking about writing people up even to the aunt at the register while there were customers in line. She also cussed a few times while at least 5 to 6 customers were in line. Not too professional, but the aunt working the register was great. Mahalo
