Oh, Keo’s…you’ve really lost it and you need to find it again. I’ve had better Thai food in Des Moines! I mean in all my travels I’ve never had canned peas in my Panang Curry! I’ve never had round spaghetti-style noodles in my pad Thai. I remember the days when you first opened in Waikiki and how much I loved your food. I’ve moved away from the Islands but make it a point to come to your place each time I visit. I won’t be coming back to your restaurant any time soon. And I surely won’t be convincing my friends and relatives to meet me there. Three of us had dinner at your place in Waikiki on Sunday, Oct 21 and we could not have been more anticipatory and more disappointed. The server was just OK. She smiled but mostly forgot about us. We had a bottle of white wine which was just so~so(not Keo’s fault) followed by the strangest tasting Thai food any of us has ever had. Two of us have spent lots of time in Thailand and the third has eaten in many Thai restaurants around the country. None of us has ever had such bland food. We are wondering if the original recipes have been destroyed and the chefs have been replaced by the cooks from Hungry Man’s frozen TV dinners. The Panang Curry was actually un-identifiable by taste or look. The green papaya salad was ordered at the ‘medium’ level for heat as suggested by the waitress. The heat level was perfect. However, the taste was so incredibly bland. There was no hint of lime juice, fish sauce or garlic. The measly little slice of lime they gave us to squirt on top was not much bigger than a thimble. We found it strange that the waitress never asked us how we liked the food. Nor did the host as us our thoughts on the way out. Have the staff gone weary of people telling them how poor their dinner was? Didn’t Keo’s used to pride themselves in the fact that their flowers and herbs were grown up on the North Shore? Has the farm shut down? Have herbs and flavors become too expensive? I also noticed that the place was getting pretty dingy looking. I didn’t really notice any of the grand flower arrangements I used to see. The men’s bathroom was just one step above ‘truck stop’. And the place was nearly empty at 7pm and all the way up through 9pm. What has happened? There was a time when one stood in line to get into Keo’s. I fear you’ve lost so much that you’ll never get it back. Keo’s should be renamed K-No’s! In memory of Amy Winehouse: «They wanna make me go to Keo’s and I say no, no, no!»

We came here tonight for dinner and the food was very delicious! I especially enjoyed the pad Thai, green curry, panang curry, beef salad, stuffed chicken wings and spring rolls. The mango margarita was fairly weak and very watery.

By far the best Thai food I have eaten outside of Thailand! Truly authentic! I asked for the food to be done hot, and they didn’t pull any punches! Really nice folks inside the truck make everything from scratch, so it takes 10 – 15 minutes to get your order. However, it is totally worth the wait. We ordered the green curry, panang curry, larb, Pad Thai, and green papaya salad, all were first rate, wonderfully fresh and spiced. The food is not the typical watered-down for the US palate, overly sweet mall food you find at pretty much every other Thai restaurant on the Island; I can only hope they stay true to their roots and continue to serve the real deal! This awesome food truck goes by both Keo’s and Kaew’s, and I see Unilocal reviews under both names.

Lunchwagons galore all over town. But this is the first in-town Thai lunchwagon I’ve seen. They have a good selection of chili’s and noodles. My favorite is the tried and true pad thai noodles served at all thai restaurants. $ 7.25 gets you a decent serving that actually competes with the full blown sit down restaurants. Anyway, worth checking out if you have some time to kill for lunch. For the money I’d give it 5 stars !

I had the green chicken curry today & it was excellent. I ordered it Medium, and it had really good flavor. The servings are large, so I have enough leftover for another meal. :) I will definitely make this one of my regular lunch stops.

If you love authentic Thai flavors, this is the place to go. The owner/chef(Ad) is humble and very friendly who came out and talked with us. The best Pad Thai in Hawaii!!! Prices are so reasonable. I will be returning real soon.

Amazing delicious authentic Thai food! Having been to Thailand eating street food, took a Thai cooking course, eaten in SF Thai restaurants, and my closest high school friend is part Thai, I have to admit being a Thai food snob. Keo’s Thai Kitchen food truck was so delicious, it’s by far one of the best Thai food on the island. I’ve tried some of the other places like Spices, Phuket, and Bangkok Chef, yuck!!! Those were salty Americanize Thai food and didn’t even taste that good, don’t know why the hype and it’s pricey just for the restaurant environment. My friend and I just finished our gym workout and went to try this. We were hungry and the food was so delicious, I forgot to take pictures! We got to talk to the chef, and he’s authentic Thai, been in Hawaii for 4 – 5 years only. The food truck just opened like 10 days and I love it already. It’s walking distance from me and the 24 Hour gym, so it’ll be my usual spot. They open 10am-7pm, so I can have late breakfast, lunch, and early dinner!!! Can you tell I love Thai food, mmm.
