Always come in here for a pick me up right before classes. I have always gotten two espressos on ice which the lady of the shop suggested and she was right; it had enough kick to keep me up all day long! Always have a chat with her. She is just a very interesting lady with so much knowledge and insight. Goes great with the coffee I’m drinking and always gives my morning that extra pick me up! This IS as good as it gets everyone!!! Don’t waste your money on Starbucks or other places. If you go to KCC or just passing through, this place will be worth the stop! Got baked goods made by the school and if you get a chance to eat a croissant, get one! It’ll be worth it!!!

A small show case of the baking classes work up for sale in front of the Gourmet cooking«classroom» restaurant, Ka Ikena. It’s usually open from morning to early afternoon during the semester and the stuff they sell varies all the time, from cranberry honey breads, other pastries, sometimes cakes, etc. The people/person(there’s usually one person) manning the café is usually nice and welcoming. I bought some honey swirled bread once, and she said its great to use for bread pudding. There’s outdoor seating(only) after you pick up what you want, and its nice to just hang out outside with some coffee and enjoy what you bought. There’s a strange abstract fountain outside for ambiance, and hey, if you know the WEP, there’s wifi around. You can get it at the library a couple of buildings away if you’re a UH systems student. CULN155 Baking: Classes are hard, and they stay really late at school. One of my friends told me they got points knocked off for their soufflé falling Q_Q «Don’t wait! Don’t wait!
