Quite happy with Dr Hara’s service. Pretty easy to get an appointment, once there she took care my wife and I quickly and efficiently. Her office takes care of the insurance paperwork. Because my wife wears contacts, we did have to pay a small fee (around $ 20) for the contact lens check. Everything else for the checkups was covered by insurance.
I wasn’t too impressed with her selection of frames (as a participating doctor/​provider, her frames are covered by my vision insurance but of course she’s got a much smaller selection than the optical shops) so I decided to go back with a pair of «older» frames to just have the lenses replaced. Same cost for just the lens replacement as if I’d also gotten the frames plus lenses.
Very happy with her service and will be a loyal yearly customer while on the island.

Very bad experience. After consultations she said go home and in a week I will call you to pick up your eyeglasses .She never called, so I went back to see what happened, she said oh I need few more days. Finally when my eyeglasses were done I could see nothing with them. She is unprofessional and arrogant.

Been seeing Dr Hara for many years. Love the location in Ala Moana shopping center inside Paris Miki. She pretty much runs it by herself with some help with the sales people but she is friendly and a doctor I can always recommend which I do, I sent any of my friends looking for a good eye doctor to her all the time!

I have been blessed with great eyes for many, many years now. However, after I hit 40, my eyes are gradually going downhill and not as great like before so through a colleague’s recommendation, I came to see Dr. Hara.
The office is located in Paris Miki on the 2^nd floor of Ala Moana Center (Makai), near Assaggio. Parking is not a problem each time I see her and am very satisfied with her service. She does ALL of the paperwork and filing with my insurance carrier. She also gives me many options for my reading glasses and encourages me to choose the frames that are covered under the insurance.
This last time I wanted a pair of designer frames which I had to pay the difference out-​of-​pocket and was able to choose a pair within the Paris Miki store. Dr. Hara re-​iterated there were similar frames at no additional cost but I insisted on spending the extra money for something I really wanted.
I was able to pick-​up my new pair of reading glasses within 10 days and received a courtesy call that they were ready of pick-​up.
I highly recommend Dr. Hara as she is down-​to-​earth and offers such great customer service and care to her patients.
