Well Shirokiya has been open since 1662 so they have to maintain there reputation. I really do like the new mall level Meika plaza cause everything is kinda reasonably priced but you have to usually buy in bulk. I personally like it better than the Yataimura which is WAY too expensive! The Meika Plaza is also kinda expensive, and usually have to buy everything in Bulk.

This place is true curiosity and shopping value in the middle of name brand mall. They offer a range of products, from quality imported household goods to bakery and food court.

I don’t know about anything else in the Meika Plaza except for Petit Custa’s caramel flake mini donuts that are TO. DIE. FOR. If you’ve never tried them, it’s a literal party in your mouth. Nothing like you’ll ever expect. It’s the only thing I pick-up at Meika Plaza… but if you’d like to try it, order choke(translation for you off-island folks: plenty) and have them make it fresh.(I think the donut maker can make 26 at a time — it’s sick that I know this, I know.) You’ll thank me later.

You want Japanese sweets? This is the pace to be. They have mochi, Yoku Moku, cakes and these petit Ginza donuts that are adorable and yummy. The guy makes them fresh and some are filled(best is the chocolate ones). They have them in these cute taiyaki and panda shapes. The flavors vary. I have been meaning to try other things here but I am addicted to those mini donuts! Its fun to watch the guy make them too, he is super fast. The prices can be a bit high but overall are reasonable since you are getting the Japanese experience that’s authentic made by people from Japan. There’s a seating area like the upstairs area in Yataimura with the wood and flower décor. It reminded me of the old Shirokiya second floor when they had desserts in the ares where the takoyaki place is currently. Try the donuts and you’ll be addicted too! ^_^*~
