Gymboree

My recent visit to Gymboree at kahala mall changed my mind about this chain store. Some Gymboree locations are not so great. But this store in kahala mall is different. It is well managed and feels a bit more like a high end store. Products are well organized and display is attractive. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And the price is great! It seems like they always have a good promotion going on. This store is easy to miss in kahala mall but it’s definitely worth checking.

Simply put. Refused to do an exchange despite having the instructions in print and all associated items needed for the exchange. My instructions were to call customer service. Thx store employee for not helping despite that being in your job description.

Can’t believe I haven’t written a review for the Kahala Gymboree before … it’s been one of our many addictions for years :) they truly have great quality clothing for both boys and girls from newborns to age twelve. The membership card allows you to receive year round offers for several promotions and sales throughout the year along with gymbucks (which give you a coupon for $ 25 off with every $ 50 purchase) that you’ll quickly find yourself caught in this never ending cycle of good deals that keep your little ones in style and your pocketbook with minimal damage :)
The store manager Rose is the absolute BEST … she is always so calm, helpful, and sweet :)

I love gymboree. The manager, Rose, at Kahala Mall is super sweet and amazing. All the ladies are always cheerful and helpful and they always let me know what are the best deals. The quality is unbeatable and I’m addicted to Gymbucks. I am a very frugal mom so I always wait for their sales and gymbuck redemption time.

Holy crap I gave birth to Imelda Marcos!
Gymboree was running a special sale where everything in the store was $ 12.99 or less and I decided that this would be an opportune time to buy new shoes for my little four year old princess Mimi. If you have not met my Mimi, she is four going on twenty four. I don’t know how she turned out this way, but my daughter is already a little fashionista in the making. In the morning I don’t even dress her. She gets everything out herself including shoes and accessories. Can we say «high maintenance?!» Lord help me.
So in we go to Gymboree and Mimi starts pulling out shoes from every shelf in the store. I’m looking at swimsuits while she’s rummaging through bins. I turn around ten minutes later and she’s pulled nine pairs of shoes to buy. I shake my head and tell her she can get three pairs. She looks at me and frowns. I remember what a terribly unfashionable little girl I was because unlike Mimi, I had zero sense of style. I had a Samoan mother who thought that I was lucky just to have the clothes on my back. Guilt overwhelms me and I feel like a bad mother, then I suddenly remember what wrecks Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan had become. Their mothers gave them zero boundaries and everything they wanted. Spoiled brats equal party girls with mug shots. Oh hells to the no!
I turn and sternly say: «Three pairs Mimi and that’s it.»
I hear bellows of sigh, groan, awwww man, and I turn to say: «Or we can just put it all back and get nothing.»
There is silence, the pitter patter of size 8 feet and magically the pile whittles down to three pairs. I go to the counter with my items and the cashier starts ringing up my order. Mimi turns to me with a bracelet, two pairs of sunglasses, a hat and three hair ribbons. I shake my head because this is going to be one expensive little girl. I love her to death.

Gymboree has some great clothes — -unfortuantely they are substantially higher price than most anywhere else on the island you can get cute clothes (Carters, Babies R Us, Old Navy). The selection isn’t too big (only a few styles for boys) and, while its cute, isn’t a dependable place to do regular shopping for little people.

Now that I’m having a baby of my own… I have price checked everything and I mean everything with all of the baby stores on the island and on Amazon too!
So when we came here last night to look at their «sale,» I scoffed. Seriously? $ 20 for a pair of baby shorts on SALE? You’ve got to be kidding me. Some of my clothes are cheaper than that and they use a LOT more fabric. I looked at the rest of their stuff… that stuff was expensive too.
Why three stars despite my frugalness? The staff is always helpful and their stuff is cute… I’d rather dress my baby in cheaper duds because I know he’ll grow out of it and it’ll make me sad on the money I wasted buying him something he can only wear twice.
