Located next to Club Rock-za, the venue of this truck is a little hard to frequent with not much parking and especially with kids in the car. However, I finally got to try this place when they joined the April Eat the Street event. With all these events, it’s hard to gauge how much they actually give on a regular night, but at least I had a taste during the event: Hamburger Steak — 3 stars — $ 6 for a mini hamburger steak. The burger is freshly home made with a tinge of spicy, watered down soy type of sauce with long grain rice. Better than L&L hamburgers, but my kids are used to their brown sauce the local style — thick with a strong flavor, with short grain rice. More of an upscale meal for an adult since the sauce is a little spicy watery and thin, and not something that would overindulge on your cholesterol since the sauce is not thick, and served with premium long grain rice. Seared Ahi with Wasabi — 3 stars — Fully cooked ahi with a mayonnaise, sour type of wasabi sauce. Not being a mayonnaise fan, it was ok, but I’ve tasted better wasabi sauces at other trucks. Grilled Mahimahi with Mango Sauce — 3 stars — I asked if I could split the two fish into one plate, so they gave me a taste of their Mahi. The mango sauce was lightly sweet, and matched the Mahi nicely. However, I like my flavors to be strong, and my Mahimahi to be soft and juicy. If you like your lightly flavored sauces, this is a plate to buy. The plate came with long grain rice and a choice of potato salad. I’m glad I selected the potato salad because the Potato salad is 5 stars — I had to rate this individually because it is definitely very flavorful. It had a light, crisp taste to it, and I think they added celery in it. One of the very few places that can make very tasty potato salad with not much of that mayonnaise taste in it. Firesticks — 4 stars — the owner of the truck gave us a complimentary firestick to try, and if his steaks are as tasty as his firestick, then it’s definitely worth buying. Although the beef came with the pineapple fire sauce, which is a sweet and spicy flavorful sauce, the meat itself was very flavorful with that keawe wood flavor. My son and I enjoyed the flavor of the meat on the skewer, and the pineapple fire sauce added an additional kick to the already flavorful piece of a beef jerky type of thick slice of meat. Service — 5 stars — the owners of the truck are two young men, who are very friendly and personable. If only they opened for lunch and roved instead of parking outside of Rock-za during dinner I’d definitely go back to buy their fire meat and potato salad.

Late at night eats. Pay upwards of $ 50 at a Sorabol or Millions or eat cheap crappy fast food. Now there’s another option. This lunch wagon is open laaate. I’ve eaten there probably 15 times already. For $ 10 you’re not going to get any better steak. Heck, it compares with restaurant steaks costing $ 25. Chicken is good too. I haven’t tried their breakfast(not up that early)… And the salad is actually better than most salads on the island. Less cheap iceberg and more dark green leafies. Located right next to Rockza(strip club), it’s got a convenient location. You can park in front of the old green colored video store next to it. Check it out. You won’t regret it.
