Anthony Calleja Photography

I would be very hesitant to use this gentleman as your photographer. Sticking to the facts… I booked a session with Anthony for a brief trip back home. He was aware of our very limited time frame. Anthony and I communicated for a couple of weeks via email and he responded promptly and professionally. (This is the ONLY reason I am not giving a one star review). We selected a date, time and location. Anthony sent me paperwork to sign and it was sent back to him promptly with a deposit. It was my understanding that this secured him as our photographer. I booked hair and makeup appointments for the selected date and put the rest of our plans for our brief trip home on hold to make time for this shoot. In addition, I had been conversing with another photographer, whom I was going to schedule a session with, however ended this relationship when I signed the paperwork and made the deposit with Anthony. A couple of days after I submitted payment Anthony called to let me know that the other shoot that he was doing that day had inadvertently told him the incorrect time and he would no longer be able to do our shoot on that day. He offered 2 other dates however I was unable to make those dates. I told Anthony that I had assumed since he had accepted our money and my signature we had booked him. He said he did not want to disappoint this couple and that it was an «event.» I am leaving this review void of emotion so you are free to drawn your own conclusions. The bottom line is… I booked with Anthony. I signed paperwork. I paid him a deposit. He canceled because his other appointment gave him the wrong time. I now have no photographer.

Be weary of using this photographer. I contacted Anthony to get some pictures whilst I was visiting Hawaii. I first asked to have photos taken outdoors, in beautiful Hawaii but he assured me that he would be able to take some good photos at my hotel. He arrived at my hotel on time and was personable.
However, he continually told me, «smile, smile, smile.» He commented that I was unable to show emotion and that I needed practice at showing my emotions. It made me feel both unhappy and uncomfortable.
The IC card didn’t function on my computer so he returned back to my hotel and was insistent on exchanging the IC card for a DVD. It didn’t occur to me as to why he was so insistent. When I emailed him, I asked him to destroy the photos. and his response was that it was his commercial property and that I would have to buy it back.
Wow. Even though this is his legal right, it is how he said it and how he is using it as a bargaining tool to get more money. Shameful. Private businesses are based on ‘word of mouth.’ I would never recommend his business to anyone and I regret using his services.
In the end, I was only satisfied with one or two photos. He charged me $ 495.00 even though his website states $ 230.00 but I was willing to pay for it if it meant getting some nice photos.
*UPDATE: Anthony has contacted me by email in a very angry manner and he has asked me to take down my review above b/​c he deems that I am being unfair and that he would like to ‘clear his name.’ I emailed him back and I told him that the review above is honest and that I would not take it down.

Just returned from a beautiful vacation in Hawaii. We had booked a photo session with Anthony and from the first contact with him it was a very pleasurable experience. At the time of the photo session it was so enjoyable and fun he made us feel very relaxed and the photos were all so awesome. I would do it all over again if I ever have the chance. I recommend Anthony to anyone wanting a photo session while in Hawaii.

One star does not even begin to describe Anthony Calleja. His phone demeanor and overall presentation is totally unprofessional. To be frank, he reminds me of a used car salesman from Jersey. Stay clear, unless you prefer to be stressed and inconvenienced on your special day.

We took a special trip to Hawaii just to take our engagement pictures. We decided to try out two photographers just to see the difference and have choices for our wedding photographer since we are getitng married in Hawaii. It was raining the day we were booked with Anthony and it was only the free day we had because we had another photographer booked for the following day. He called us and told us it was totally up to us but we decided to just go ahead and do it since that was the reason why we were there. I was pretty excited because I saw his photographs because I thought his work was nice. When we got our pix back, I ended up not liking any of them… not even one! Anthony was nice but he kept telling us we didn’t have chemistry and we need to work on it during our shoot, which made us feel dumb and our pictures ended up really blurry.
