This place has closed it doors and its not surprising. Service stunk and most of the time when you went they were out of things. Simple things, sausage for pizza, spinach, basil, beer. Better management at this location was despeartely needed. Again, location, location, location.

Closed. Not only closed, but employees left unpaid. Don’t bother with the trip. Surprised they lasted this long with places like Son of a Pizza or Momma Mias.

Like the original big cheese in South Miami this Big Cheese is no different, good pizza and Italian food. Had the chicken Cesar and it was great. I saw that they have a pizza buffet but since I was trying be good the salad is all I had. Will be back again and I will let you know how the pizza goes next time.

I’m definitely a fan. I’ve only had big cheese delivered, and I have to give MUCH props to Nikole and Patrick. I’m picky about how I have my food prepared, and when the ball got dropped both of them have picked up the pieces, took responsibility and made it right. Tonight’s experience was with Nikole. I called, She knew me, knew my order, almost rattled off my phone number, service with a smile, she was genuinely happy to hear back from a loyal customer. The thing that really made me post this review is because of what she took time to do. She puts on my credit card receipt slip«Let me know if it’s all good! :) –Nikole» Well damn, you can’t beat that kind of service, in the middle of my fresh meal I had to call and give her rave review on the food, but most of all the extra touch. If I ever get a restaurant I’d love to have Nikole and Patrick running the place. They have it together!(picture of the actual receipt attached) –Thanks Nikole for not only going the extra mile to keep a loyal customer happy but to actually show you care.

Very poor food prep. Our complimentary garlic rolls were so raw we had to return them. We order a Ceasar salad with«chicken». I’m not sure if it really was chicken or fish. Croutons were burnt and the salad was drenched in dressing. We also ordered a Philly cheese steak. The steak was ok but the bread was also burnt. In general the food was terrible, the place looks dirty. I was slipping all over when I came in because the floor was so greasy. And the stuff appears a bit crazy. Kids of the owners or managers running around the place and yelling. It’s a mad house. If you want the big cheese go the other location.

Every time we come here the food is worse than the last time. I believe the ownership has changed within the last year and the quality got even worse then it already was. It used to be tolerable. My husband ordered the Chicago style pizza and it was severely undercooked. The cheese looked like plastic. I went with my «safe» choice of the shrimp Caesar salad and got 4 small shrimp and a really soggy salad that did not have the dressing that I ordered and soggy onions if that is even possible. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. We will not be dining here again for a very long time.

Ok so I really didn’t like this place. I’ve had better pizza. They give complimentary garlic rolls which were ok. We ordered cheese bread and returned it because it was not what I expected. We also ordered the big cheese for one which is supposed to be a personal pizza. It came out with half of the cheese missing so we asked to add more cheese and toast it longer. After that it tasted good. What I didn’t like is that they have an offer on Unilocal that if u check in u get free Italian doughnuts. I showed it to our Waiter and she said sorry we don’t sell Italian doughnuts here. I wasn’t pleased with that answer so I checked the dessert menu. Please google Zeppoli and tell me what it says! Italian pastry that consists of a fried dough ball. Is that not an Italian doughnut?! Any who I didn’t bother to confirm with that waiter. I just paid and went my way.

Wish I would’ve realized the management changes prior to going. We had a large pizza and 2 different pasta dishes. I’ve had better frozen pizza than what we were served. For the pasta, we had the«Dolly» which is sautéed chicken and mushrooms which I had onions and spinach added to. The chicken tastes like it was boiled, the spaghetti was not salted it was very bland, couldn’t tell the difference better the spinach or the mushrooms. The rolls served have significantly changed. They are almost the consistency of a biscuit. This will be our last trip to this restaurant. I felt very bad for our waitress. Eight plus tables of all different sizes by her self. Service was slow but not her fault.

Ordered the deep dish chicago pizza… I’m going to say the pizza was below average though the service was surprisingly good, our server was really on point! The complementary garlic bread is definitely a nice touch but they just lay on tons of this raw garlic paste that can be very overpowering… they need to add much more finesse to these! The pizza was greasy as hell(which is common in deep dish) but it wasn’t too appetizing. It was just blah. I haven’t had their other pizzas, but for deep dish i’d prefer chicago manhattans in pinecrest.

Always AWESOME eating here. The sauce changes each time you go so expect some variations there. Summer is an amazing server and really gives a lot of attention to her customers. She was great with us and we can’t wait to go back! However… the BEST part… FREECOTTONCANDY!!! Woot woot

I have order a take out of a Large Ham and pineapple pizza with a dozen of garlic rolls. The pizza was soggy look like needed more time in the oven and the garlic roll some was dull and just added garlic on top and some were over cooked burnt.

If I can give a zero I would. This was the worst experience ever!!! Why I didn’t turn around I don’t know. The entire restaurant was dirty, the waitress was trash; the service was atrocious. My glass of wine was gross and the glass was dirty and greasy. It took almost 20 min to get a new glass. Which was probably the same wine poured into a different glass. The garlic roles weren’t even cooked. Just dough with oil and garlic. Gross!!! Don’t even get me started on how bad the food was. Chef boy Ardee is better. I’ve been to the big cheese in south Miami, the service and restaurant was a lot better and cleaner. Save yourself the agony and never visit this establishment!!! And they skim credit cards. Patrons beware!!!

Ok so prior to ownership change, my boyfriend and I were obsessed with this place. The serving sizes were huge and they always offered weekly specials, to switch things up a bit. But since the new owner took over, portions have become smaller(prices remained the same), several items were removed from the menu and they served me hot wine the other night. The new owner/manager isn’t personable and we find ourselves coming here less and less. Hopefully they improve their service, portion sizes and menu selection soon!

We live right down the street from this restaurant and were happily regulars but not anymore… management/ownership changed and the quality of this place has gone downhill. No amount of cotton candy is gonna make up for a pizza place serving old, reheated pizza! After waiting 25 minutes the two slices that came to the table were hideous. Our waitress even apologized while walking over with the plate. We didn’t even want replacements. The owner was there, whistling loudly in the kitchen, knowing that we are regulars and had an issue with his food. He didn’t even bother to come to our table to ask how everything was. Sadly, this isn’t the first time the food here has been below-average. The time before this experience the quality of food was poor but we thought it might have just been an off-night. Our waitress, who was perfectly nice and helpful, got very busy when it was our time to pay so we decided to go to the takeout counter to take care of our bill. The young girl who takes care of the phone orders was on the phone but was quickly done. We could’ve have been invisible because we received no acknowledgment from her. She started a conversation with the delivery driver while we were waiting there for a couple of minutes right in front of the counter. No surprise, the owner who ignored us as well had his back to us in the corner behind the counter. We asked if we could pay and the girl turned to the owner and asked him to take care of it. He rung us up and we left for the final time. Never going back to this place! They have tried many gimmicks to try and make this place unique… the cotton candy, ice cream, & jazz music. But it’s just not worth the horrible food and bad management! Avoid!

This review is long overdue but when this fine gentleman that works there reads this maybe he’ll smile. I paid for a takeout order with a 100 bucks… Apparently this Monopoly money the govt prints is next to impossible to change anywhere! After them making a big deal out a $ 30 – 40 order they brought me the change in ones and fives. Not to mention buddy was laughing like someone told a joke or something. As I started to count it I noticed the guy watching and I said to hell with it, and walked out without counting the proper change. Sure enough I was short 10 bucks… Like really guy 10 bucks??? Keep it scumbag, Ull never see me order from there again. Not to mention that the food isn’t even anything to rave about anyways!!! There’s a better spot right by the college down the street! Mamma Mia, they got real good pizza!!!

This place is great! They have a pretty big menu with some delicious items to choose from. There pizza is good, thier lasagna is to die for! I have ordered for delivery and they messed up on my order but the owners wife was really nice and offered to give me a credit or my money back. I have also ate thier on Saturday and that specific day after 5pm they have a special going on 2 for $ 20. You get an appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert. Can’t beat it! They also welcome you with some warm, fresh out the oven garlic rolls and also give you some cotton candy at the end of your meal, great touch! My husband and I went there last Sunday for thier Sunday brunch and it was great! We thought it probably wasn’t so good since it was empty but i’m guessing since this is new, many people haven’t heard of it. They had many items to choose from and they just kept taking out more and more food. Delicious! Our waitress was Summer, awesome sweet and attentive young lady. The service is great! Will defenitely be going back.

Our waiter summer was amazing. Made us feel right at home. She knew the menu like the back of her hand. This was our first visit to the homestead big cheese. We are frequent visitors to the south Miami location. I think we found our new Friday night spot

The food was good it’s wasn’t out of this world but worth coming again for. The waitress/service was great and that alone will motivate me to come back. If you order the regular sized pasta dishes just make sure you have 2 other people helping you eat that dish because it’ll feed at least 3 people. It’s huge!!! Oh and you get cotton candy after you’re finished eating, which in my opinion is the icing on the cake. I love cotton candy, I never get tired of cotton candy no matter how old I am. Lastly, the fried Oreos were sooooo good. Omg I was so happy after eating them. The fried Oreos are a must have. To conclude this review, I liked the big cheese a lot and it was my first time going there. The food was good and worth returning for. I loved our waitress she was awesome.

I have been to the South Miami store but had never visited the Homestead one. I was driving on US1 heading to a thrift shop nearby and saw the Big Cheese sign and my mouth literally started watering! I had to evoke the inner Nascar race-car driver to maneuver myself off of the highway and into that parking area without causing a 16 car pile-up on US1. Once inside, I was not particularly impressed with the décor but was impressed with how quickly I was attended to and escorted to a booth. The hostess asked me if I wanted garlic or cheese bread and within a few minutes I was chomping down on some decadent garlic rolls pilled high with garlic and oil… nom nom! Once my waiter came by I ordered a slice of pizza and a soda and he informed me that two slices of two-topping pizza with the soda would only be $ 6.48. So I ordered those with my favorite bacon and pineapple… don’t judge;) I entertained myself by watching a cute little girl run around charming the patrons and«helping» sweep the floor. My pizza was ready really quickly which made me wonder how good it could possible be… I was very pleasantly surprised. This is the BEST crust I’ve ever had and I devoured every single bite of delicious hot, cheesy, bacon-y and pinapple-y pizza ever! As my moment of deliciousness was coming to an end, my waiter casually asked me if I wanted some cotton candy! I must have looked perplexed because he said«we don’t believe in breath mints, we believe in Cotton Candy!» Not gonna complaint about THAT! The cotton candy was huge and came perched on a red cup(see pic) and it was delish! Great end to a great meal… will definitely be back again soon!
