Make sure you check your food before you leave I always do I guess it was my fault I didn’t he asked me if I wanted to go with my personal pizza while I did my midterms cuz I couldn’t sit down and eat he asked me Carlos which very he’s a very nice guy he asked me if I wanted anything with it mozzarella sticks whatever I said no I would like a desert he said we have apple wife said you have apple pie he said we have apple crisp I said Great and Inc I said way to second base ministers and he said we have a small one and we have a large one but that’s $ 6 and I said I’ll take the $ 6 I don’t care how much it is I said but I do not want ice cream in with it and he said okay I’ll have it on the side the small one the miniature comes with it on it and guess what they gave me the miniature one a mess it’s about three bites and they charged me $ 6 plus tax and they wouldn’t put it back on my credit card so I don’t know check your food before you go there cuz this is bull****. Am I the only one or does everyone seem to like mess up everything nowadays you pay more and you get less I was very specific and I even had to take the separate ice cream that they were supposed to put in there off my pizza because it was already soup until I had to get three different bags and do it myself so that I wouldn’t have melted ice cream but that’s what I already melted ice cream in with this miniature dessert that I paid almost $ 7 for so be very specific and check your stuff okay freaking bull

It is exactly what it is. Pizzera Uno used to mean something amazing to me, but in recent years the food quality has become more corporate, they’ve tossed a lot of the core of what made them one of my favorite pizza places. Today was no exception. Server was still trying to find the line between obsequious and absent. I’ve never had the same crew on any visit… The turn over is high. They pack in the tables, and it varies between slammed and empty. It does a brisk business for lunch, but even still getting out of here in under an hour is a challenge. They have some good lunch deals, and are veggie friendly, so sometimes it’s easier to meet a friend for lunch who is coming from points north on a weekday/work day. Today was fairly typical of both service and food. I was seated, waiting for my friend. I was seated a a low table in the bar area that I would say was about 15 inches from the next table. I could hear their conversation clearly as I waited. As if I was seated at their table. Ok, fine… Pick up phone. Try not to evesdrop… Got it… No waiter. Wait. Friend shows up, waiter upon this event materializes from points unknown and immediately asks for our drink order. We order, there’s some fumbling of impatience, and then he evaporates again. Friend and I chat… Look over the menu… Where is he? He appears with drinks, we order the lunch special pizza for Friday(On their new nine grain crust.) He’s about ready to leave, not asking what dressing we want on the salads… So I ask if this still comes with salad, and he immediately goes«Oh! Right!» and asks what dressing we’d like on it. My friend inquires what dressings are available, to which he says pretty much anything you can think of expect for like french or russian or(something else I can’t recall…) No list to choose from. My friend asks if he has balsamic, and he says yes. So, it’s now settled. We talk. Drink our tea. And wait. He’s gone again. About 10 minutes later he brings us our salads, and apologizes for the wait. One we’re eating the salad, he’s back every 2 minutes or so making sure everything is ok. So… I didn’t say anything about the mealy tomato… Nor the soggy greens. Nor the 3 croutons.(3?! Is it the war? Are we rationing?) Also, one tomato(which was disgusting anyway, and I didn’t eat it.) and one thin slice of cucumber.(It is the war…) The main food comes. That part was actually quick. My friend hadn’t even finished her salad.(I gave up on mine and the waiter cleared the plate quickly.) Now he’s constantly around. The second I put food in my mouth he’s asking«How’s everything folks?»(…Folks? It is the war.) We finish eating what we’re going to, and eventually he asks if we want some take out containers. My lunch companion decides that she’s going to donate the slices to my cause, so we ask for one box. He says great and turns away. 10 minutes go by… Eventually he returns with 2 containers and the check. We use one, and leave the other, when he picks up the check he says«Oh! Right, you just wanted one.» and takes it back.(We didn’t touch it inside, I promise.) Lunch with tip ended up being in the $ 30 range. But, I do have left overs for dinner tonight.

I am not a big chain restaurant fan to start. I do not recommend the Mucho nachos or the buffalo chicken salad. The nachos were very soggy and the salad only had a tiny piece of chicken on it… Nothing amazing. The pizza was decent, however the portions are small. The service was great! All and all, just OK.

The food is great as it has been every time in the past. I worked at the mall about twenty years ago and Uno’s was my goto to place for a meal or for a beer after work. Now I stop in a couple of times a year, while Xmass shopping or when I am down south. Tonight it took a very long for your food to come out. It took twenty minutes to get our sampler.

Went in on a quiet Monday night, took a seat at the bar. Bartender was friendly and professional. Service was on point. Good and drinks were perfect. Good atmosphere. Better experience than I would normally expect from a chain restaurant in a mall. Deep dish pizza is wonderful. Still no match for true Chicago classics like Lou Malnati’s, but still, not bad at all for Massachusetts.
