My husband and I have been searching for delicious Mediterranean cuisine in South Florida and we found it here. Start with the Omy soup which is exotic comfort food, rich with okra in a delicious broth. The baba ghanoush is amazing, and the tabouli has perfect amounts of parsley and lemon juice. My husband enjoyed the evening’s special, Moroccan beef. As a vegetarian, the menu is rich with options. I chose the Moroccan Shakshouka. Both entrees came with Mediterranean salad, pita and tahini and were divine. Our server was attentive and helpful, and his suggestions were spot on. Sadly we had no room for dessert which is not a problem because we will certainly be back at Shabo’s to dine again. There’s more of the menu to explore.

Fantastic! That sums up the experience a group of 4 of us had last night at dinner. From the service to the amazing food — We left in complete satisfaction. We ordered the appetizer combo platter with hummus, babaganoush, grape leaves, falafels, and salad. Each item on that platter with that perfect warm pita bread was just devine. For entrees we had lamb chops, chicken shwarma platter, and two of the day’s specials — grilled snapper and a kind of beef stew. Again — everything was absolutely delicious. This place is a hidden gem and I’m so glad I’ve found my go-to Mediterranean spot. We almost didn’t eat here as I made reservations after reading the Unilocal reviews but when we drove by looking for parking the restaurant looked small and a little empty — at least compared to another Mediterranean restaurant right next door that was much bigger and more bustling. We almost went to the busier place but I’m sooo glad we trusted the Unilocal reviews and stuck with this place. Oh I forgot to mention the chef came out to greet us after our meal — great personal service. Still reminiscing on how great the food was.

If you love very flavorful Middle Eastern food, this is the place for you. You must love parsley and cumin and paprika and lots of it! Oh and the best falafel! So light and crispy. We don’t eat meat but it looked amazing going by the table. Nice and friendly service too!

The service here is amazing. Came with our 11 month old baby and the waitress was nice enough to bring her a toy to play with. She suggested great plates and the portions here — beyond!!! To me this was really good Greek food and I would def go back

This was our second time ordering delivery from here. The food has been great both times. Today we noticed that we were missing a few wings(10 instead of 18) we called and the person who answered the phone was so nice and apologetic and within 5 minutes we had the wings at the door with a complimentary Konafa. So happy!!! Amazing customer service will definitely order from here again!!!

AMAZING Moroccan food. Chicken kabab and lamb couscous were sensational. Flavorful, huge portions and great service. I personally love when the chef comes out to check in, which this guy did, and we were beyond satisfied.

My wife and I are visiting south Florida for a combination work trip /vacation, and we wanted to find a place in the area for dinner that would serve gluten-free food. We found some good reviews for Shabo’s Barbecue that said they had good gluten-free stuff, so we decided to try it. We were confused when we walked in; is this the right Shabo’s? It didn’t look like a barbecue joint. But yes, this American-Mediterranean restaurant is the right place. And they do have barbecue ribs on the menu. Ultimately, we both went with shawarma instead — chicken for me, beef for her. The server was even fine with switching in salad instead of rice at our request(just a preference, not any kind of gluten problem with the rice). Both meats were delicious, and surprisingly different. I expected that they would be in identical sauces, but they each had their own unique flavor(both were awesome). The beef was my favorite. The veggies in sauce that came on the side were yummy too. The most unique thing was probably the tea my wife ordered for us. It came in this… I guess you have to call it a teapot, but it dispensed tea through the bottom. I’d never seen that before, and I loved it! The tea was a no-caffeine mint chocolate thing that was delicious, too. We’re going to be here a few more days, and I could see coming back again for dinner. Yay Shabo’s!

This is my favorite restaurant in Hollywood right now! The food here is absolutely delicious! I have ordered delivery from here twice now using the Unilocal app. and have been thrilled by the flavors of Mediterranean cuisine! The Baba Ganoush is so fresh and delicious, served with soft pita bread, this is a great way to start your meal. The chicken liver appetizer is decadant — absolutely mouth watering. I’ve also tried their grilled Mediterranean salad, Greek salad, and lamb gyro platter. The meat was tender and flavorful, and it is a very generous portion. I love the chunky cucumber tzatziki sauce. They also have Rabbit Molokhia, a very interesting dish. I’ve never dined at the actual restaurant, but I highly recommend the food!

Went here with a date tonite. I’m local and never heard of this place, a bit surprised at all these 5 star reviews. We ordered the combo appetizer. I was a bit turned off at the color of the falafel and disappointed at the lack of taste. The hummus & baba ganoush tasted too garlicky and the med salad was too bedecked with parsley to taste. I ordered the baby mozzarella salad and was again saddened by the overwhelming amount of parsley rendering it inedible. There are better middle eastern places in the area. The waitress, Kate, was great answering our questions and explaining the menu.

I had a very tasty quesadilla. The meat was so well seasoned. My bf also enjoyed his shawarma, super flavorful. Excellent service too.

Hubby picked this up last night for dinner! I didn’t really get to look at the menu bc he was starving and like ordered within 10 seconds of telling me he wanted to try this place but whatever. I ended up getting the vegetarian mezze platter and a gyro for me and my 2 kids to share. Anyway the hummus and the babaganoush were both the best I’ve tried in S Fl, the falafel and dolmades were also really good, and I tried a bite or two of the gyro and the meat was on point. The tzaziki sauce was really really good too. I guess I loved everything I tried. The mezze platter is pretty expensive and didn’t come with pitas – next time, I would order a falafel sandwich and hummus or babaganoush or whatever app as a side –it would be less expensive and more food – but that sad I’m glad I got to try everything and I’ll definitely get it again.

The food is definitely tasty and the menu is diverse and interesting. The BBQ beef rib sandwich is worth getting. Unique, tender, and we’ll seasoned. The gyro meat here is very good. The hummus is probably the best I have found in S Florida. My wife was in love with the baba ganoush. I thought it was tasty as well. Foodwise, there just isn’t really anything to complain about. Very solid middle eastern establishment. I really only have two issues with this place. First, I ordered my food takeout and they didn’t give me any pitas with my platter. It was a $ 22 sampler platter and I was disappointed to discover I didn’t have pitas when I got home. The second issue is that the place is definitely on the pricey side. As noted above, the food is good, but most middle eastern places are on the cheaper end of the spectrum just due to the fact that most ingredients used are not particularly expensive. With that said, I think the good outweighed the bad(hence the 4 stars) so I will come back. I’ll just double check to make sure I have everything if I carry out.

I usually not a 5 star rating type of guy because I am very picky when it comes to food! But let me tell you why I give this restaurant 5 stars rating(*****) I can name a few Mediterranean restaurants, and they offer similar type of food, but unfortunately their menus had Mediterranean dishes, but far from Mediterranean food taste. Shabos Barbecue taste is so impressive, immediately from the first bite you can taste the fresh ingredients, and the real taste of the Mediterranean food. Amazingly the chef had a signature in every dish like he takes it personal, I went there with my friends in different occasions. I had the lamb couscous one time, and I highly recommend that plate and without exaggeration I give it a 10. Also Shabos kebab Mix is phenomenal. So keep up the good work and I would come back soon.

$ 10 delivery charge with $ 35 min? Not competitive with other restaurants in the area, and for that they lost a potential frequent customer.

We ordered the Shabo’s grill dish. The quality of the meat was excellent and the cooking was perfect. The ingredients had a perfect balance of taste and you can tell they were fresh. The service was excellent and with a lot of attention to detail. I would definitely recommend.

2 reviews in one. Within 2 days, I returned for lunch because this place serves great food! Friend and I wanted to get something light in the area and I suggested we try shabo’s. I recalled reading great reviews and seeing a few veggie platters on its Unilocal page and thought, why not. We stopped in on a early Friday afternoon. It was quite empty but the weather was nice and we decided to sit outside. I though it was cool that a few of the tables had a mini grill on them. Ok so we we’re immediately greeted and brought the menus. Very pleasant waiter patiently answered a few questions that we had about some items on the menu. Settled on the Combo Mezza platter. It consisted of Falafel, grapeleaves, hummus, Tzaziki, Pita, and a tomato-cucumber salad. Delish!!! Also tried the OMY soup… a hearty comfort style soup which consisted of tomato purée, Okra, and beans. We were told that«OMY» means mom. Such a warm and fuzzy feeling reminiscent of the feeling I get after having my mom’s soup. Great! Returned 2 days later because it was such a nice experience the first time around. Had the chicken shawarma with a side of grilled vegetables and fresh cut french fries. Had to give the chef his props cause the chicken was the most tender I’ve had. Ever! Exotic, spicy, juicy… Yumms! Yes, a huge fan!!! The chef came out and introduced himself which I thought was so awesome of him. On both occasions I’ve had the lemonade-mint smoothie which I find to be a nice treat to finish off the meal. I love this place and will recommend it to anyone craving something amazingly different.

Shabo’s restaurant is a piece of the Middle East right here in America. If you want truly authentic and incredibly delicious middle Eastern and Moroccan food, there’s no place else like this place!!! The owner and chef, Shabo, was a popular chef in the Middle East with his own tv show and traveled the world cooking and learning in different countries. His special attention to every single spice and flavor included in his dishes truly makes dining at this place an experience you won’t forget. My husband and I are both Egyptian and were craving a taste of home. We discovered Shabo’s bbq on Unilocal and decided to try it. We had the tabbouleh salad, the rabbit with molokhiya– a traditional Egyptian dish(I substituted the rabbit for lamb) and the Moroccan lamb dish with couscous. The flavors and spices incorporated into each dish were absolutely phenomenal… possibly the best I’ve ever had(this coming from an Egyptian who grew up to her moms molokhiya at home!). The owner himself will make the experience even more amazing with his kindness and generosity. He offered us Egyptian tea and baklava on the house just to say welcome!!! His kindness definitely made me miss home and we will definitely be back with the rest of the family! Thank you so much, Shabo!!! We can’t wait to be back!
