I’ve only come here on off-hours for the food. The falafel greek salad was very fresh and flavorful. I finished every last morsel of it! Last I went, I got take out and ordered the blackened mahi and tzatzaki. The mahi was excellent especially as a takeout dish but I didn’t enjoy the tzatzaki at all. It was so sour cream heavy which overpowered everything else. It also didn’t have nearly enough garlic in it. The big miss with the tzatzaki made me question the restaurants authenticity but chances are I will eat here again.

NIGHTMARISHSERVICE!!! We had friends visiting from NY& decided to try this place out. Belly dancer kept us entertained for the hour long wait for our food. Waiter forgot utensils and plates as requested. I had to walk inside and get them myself. Mind you, I would understand if it was a very busy night but there was only 3 other tables. Food was lukewarm & mediocre at best. Furthermore, our friend asked the waiter if he can snap a quick pic and the waiter REFUSED stating he was TOOBUSY, yet he’ll rush inside & yap his mouth by the bar. ABSOLUTELY the WORST service we have ever experienced. COOLBELLYDANCER, WORSTSERVICEEVER!!!

No wow factor. I ordered a Greek salad with gyro meat, the salad didn’t have much flavor which is shocking for a Greek salad. In addition, the meat was overcooked and burnt. The Greek Joint across the street is far better. The ambiance is also very plain and not inviting. No plans to return.

The service was horrible! It took an hour and a half to get the food and then it was cold. Mind you, half the people there were only drinking. They included gratuity as a «miscellaneous» charge and then on the bill it says«Gratuity NOT included». Overall it sucked. Never going back!

Great Hookah spot! I suggest Mint Hookah in a Apple — you’re welcome. The Apps were better than I expected for a prime location – The Hummus was delicious fresh garlic and paprika and Kebbha was Loved by my party! Cute little belly dancers on weekends and great people watching–

This restaurant was a little disappointing. We went here for lunch and there was only one other table of 2, but service was so slow! Appetizer platter was ok, dolmades seemed like they had been microwaved and were just hot mush. The platter was overpriced at 18.00 for what we got. I got falafel wrap it was good, but did not come with anything… even though I asked and the waitress told me it came with a salad. She later said she misunderstood me and the wrap does not come with any side. My husband got beef shwarma, but it was so overcooked and dry that he did not really eat it. For better greek food, the greek restaurant The Greek Place across the street is better.

This review is only for the drinks, hookah and nighttime entertainment. It was a Friday night and four of us were stuffed from the huge portions at Vendetta, across the street. We decided to walk and find a bar to have a few more drinks before heading home. We walked by Taverna Yiamas and went«Ohhhhh! Hookah!» because apparently we are a bunch of teenagers. We went in and asked them if we could sit outside, which seemed unlikely, considering how packed it was. Turns out, there was one table left. What luck! We were seated, our order was taken and the rose flavored hookah was delivered almost immediately. The sangria came out not long after and we sat back to watch the dancers. They were belly dancers in glittering sequin and beaded costumes that covered little more than a bikini would. The hookah was very tasty, the sangria was so good and it just kept on coming. Very attentive waitstaff always had another drink waiting for us or another coal for our hookah. The dancer went from table to table dancing with the patrons and swinging her hips around. I can’t dance like that, which is upsetting, but our husbands truly enjoyed the show. I’m not at all surprised. She even got one of the boys to dance. In fact, one of the dancers went around to different tables pulling both men and women alike onto the dance floor(sidewalk) to partner up with her. She was very sweet and patient, considering some of the left feet she had to deal with. The whole hookah/drink thing was a really inexpensive endeavor, so that was pleasing. We walked aways a bit bolder(re: drunk) and very happily swaying our own hips all the way to the taxi. Great place to stop by and have some outdoor nightlife that’s fairly mellow, while still a cool experience.

What a Fun Place. Sure, streets ful of many Venues, but this one has a Belly Dancer! Not just any Belly Dancer, but an Amazing Belly Dancer! The inside Venue is so Morracan, bright colors, lots of couches and couple places to smooch etc! I only had Drinks, but the Simple yet Well stock supply was amazing! We just had so much fun watching the Belly Dancer, enjoying Wine and Fine Fun! You must drop by and relax a bit here!

A real tourist trap. This is my second time here in 2 years. wanted to give it another try, but it has not improved. just not worth it. Poor quality food(stale gyros), pricey menu… bitter sangría. … and service was, well… unmemorable. … Maybe the belly dancer saves the place… but the food does not match the prices…

Decent Greek food in Downtown Hollywood. I’m still up in the air as to whether this place or the Greek Joint is the best lunchtime place for Middle Eastern/Greek food in Hollywood.

Best location on Hollywood Blvd., my husband and I ordered the Shawarma, and it was just delicious. We stayed for the belly dance show, and to our surprise they had a fire show, very nice for the price, since they don’t charge a cover charge. Service could be a little better, but I guess our waiter was new and on a Friday night it can get hectic. Absolutely recommend this place.

The falafel was good but the lamb was like shoe leather. Decent service. We sat outside so the street noise was a factor. Would have liked to come back for the belly dancing but not so much the food. Kind of a fun place but rather expensive for what you get.

Belly Dancing is what sets this place apart from the other great restaurants along Hollywood Blvd. It’s also fun to see how many traffic accidents almost happen because they are looking at the Belly Dancer rather than the traffic! The atmosphere and outside seating are great as it allows you to people watch. My wife and I shared the Green Mousaka and it was really really delicious! We will be back.

$ 20+ for falafel?(Ground fried Chickpeas, Garlic and Cilantro) $ 20+ Hookah(two tablespoons of tobacco and quart of water) WTF! That is just highway robbery! This place is for you if you’re made of money and have an orchard of money trees. Otherwise keep moving. You’re better off at 7 –eleven. Background: I’ve been to every country in the Middle East and over 20 countries worldwide. Not to mention 45 of the 50 states.

I had a Groupon for Taverna Yiamas so we decided to check it out. Unfortunately, first impressions are lasting and the reception we received upon walking up to the restaurant ruined it for us. Firstly, there were signs taped to the doors saying«No Groupon without a Reservation». Well, the fine print of our Groupon never said anything about a MUSTHAVE reservation in order to be redeemed so that irked me a bit. Seeing that the restaurant was practically empty inside, I asked the manager/owner if we could still use our Groupon even though we didn’t have a reservation. She proceeded to roll her eyes and tell us we’d have to be «prepared to wait because we’re very busy with paying customers». Um ok, we’re paying customers too and your restaurant is 75% empty. We were seated promptly and honestly didn’t have to wait long for drinks or food. Our server was a lovely woman who made sure we were taken care of, was friendly and polite, and seemed to have no problem that we had a Groupon or small children. The food was good, not the best I’ve had, but certainly not horrible. My six year old son practically had a heart attack when the belly dancer came over. I’d like to separately give our server 5 stars for providing excellent service with a smile. Sadly she’s stuck working here. Her manager/owner could take a lesson in manners.

I absolutely fell in love with this place when my husband was temporarily in Miami. I feel like we visited this place about 5 times in one month, which is rare for us. Anyway, we initially found this place via a Groupon, saw that they had Mediterranean food, hookah, and belly dancing. To me you really can’t go wrong with that combination. Our waitress was very helpful and had some recommendations as we were pretty hungry and suggested dished that provided what we wanted and were cheaper when ordered separately. For appetizer we had home made hummus, which was very creamy and flavorful. The pitas were also nice perfectly toasted and not stale. I ordered the lamb Shwarma, which was abslolutely delicious and flavorful. My husband had the beef kafta kebap absolutely delectable. I honestly had such good Middle eastern food in a long while. After we ate, we decided to be moved outside where they had some tables and where the belly dancing takes place. Let me tell you, the belly dancers here are some of the best I have seen. There were two that were really good, but the best one had to be Cecibel. This girl could put any belly dancer to shame. She is very entertaining and likes to take people out to dance with her which is pretty fun after you had a few drinks. As for the hookah, it was great. They had great selection of shisha and for the most part the coal girl was pretty attentive as to whether coals needed to be changed. After our initial visit, we returned numerous times to the point that we made friends with other regulars that like to get up and dance with the belly dancer as well as smoke some hookah. Overall, this place was amazing, great food and atmosphere, as well as some interesting people watching, I just wish there was something like this here in Atlanta.

I was in Hollywood and wanted Mediterranean food after looking at reviews Taverna Yiamas it was! What sold me was the entertainment the talented Belly dancer Cecibel who was just great. Cecibel dances there Mon, Wed, Fri, and Sat from 8 — 11. It was annoying to find parking and after circling the block a few times *sigh*. the 5 $ parking lot it is. My Man and I sat outside by the Hollywood Blvd and took in the scene which leaves plenty of people watching to do. Many different kinds of people heading to the local bars and clubs.
The waiter was quick and we ordered waters with lemon and the Hummus app. The Hummus was really good and the pita came in points and was presented beautifully.
We ordered the combo Platter to share, its 3 items and ordered the Lamb Shwarma, the Chicken Shwarma, and the Beef Kebab, it came with a side of rice pilaf. All of the meats were tasty, I really liked the chicken. I thought the lamb was a little dry and salty but the dinner was overall great. I had no idea how much fun watching belly dancers can be.

After finally getting a chance to check out the Art Walk, the bf and I headed here for dinner. Considering how busy it was, the service was scattered throughout the evening. I suppose this is understandable considering we only saw 3 individuals that were waiting tables. Just know that you may have to flag a waiter/waitress down several times throughout the evening. One thing I loved about this place was their pita bread and hummus. Definitely addictive. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma which was simply delicious and the lemon potatoes were rockin’. As with most Mediterranean restaurants, they also have belly dancers and hookas. No need to worry if you sit inside, because the dancers make their way inside as well. Considering we’ve been neglecting Greek cuisine, I felt this was a good place to whet our appetite.
