My wife and I used to frequent Kelly’s when we lived in Hollywood and, when we did not live in Hollywood, any time we were in the area. The place was as dive as it got and we loved it for that. Aside from the generous pours and good prices, Jerry made the place. We looked forward to hanging out with him whenever we would go to Kelly’s. So if anybody know what’s up with Jerry, please get in touch. My wife and I were sad to see Kelly’s shuddered and had no way of getting in touch with Jerry.

Alas, Kelly’s is closed. We came by to have a pint in our old Hollweird stomping grounds but, dammit, Katie bar the door, the pub was shuttered and dark. I’ll miss you guys.

i loved Kelly’s… LOVED Kelly’s… but sadly it is now closed down. just wanted to save anyone the trouble of going there to find it not there any longer. I was there on St. Patrick’s Day & it was PACKED! there were like 6 bartenders working, when normally there are 2… so you can imagine how surprised I was to see it closed down less than a week later. PRL is less than a block away, but its more hipster & less dive bar than Kelly’s was. however, its probably the closest thing to a dive bar in downtown Hollywood now.

i went into this place with my husband for a beer on a sunday, around noon, had a beer and then went to the ladies bathroom. what i saw in there completely tramuatized me, i may need therapy. you know the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark how the one guy opens his eyes and his face melts off from the sheer horror — i think the ladies bathroom may have looked worse. imagine ALL and I mean ALL the possible substances that can come out of a person smeared all over the walls… i may have PTSD from this experience.

Still awesome. I can’t describe it. Its just a great, unpretentious place where you can strike up the weirdest conversations with the most random people. Kinda like Unilocal talk threads but in real life. And with two pints of Guinness for $ 10(16oz pints for the purists), sure you can’t beat it with a stick.

Kelly’s is the perfect little dive bar on Harrison. Great prices, great service, and offers the good ol’ classic bar venture we all get hungry for. It’s right next to Exotic Bites AND the local mini-mart, so you can easily find yourself hanging out here for a while. No need for fancy dress clothes, or new hair-do’s– come in your PJ’s if you please! Although I was looking for the darts half the night(the place looks like the perfect spot to play darts at), I quickly realized there isn’t too much room for a dart board because the place is usually packed. All in all a great local dive, priced fairly decent with friendly staff and awesome crowds.

This is gonna be my new hangout! I’ve been searching for a bar like this since I’ve moved here a week ago-so happy!

When I am residing in Hollywood(FL), I visit Kelly’s at the corner of 19th and Harrison on occasion. This area is at the edge of the downtown Hollywood club/restaurant and bar area. It is a block down from my favorite cigar shop, Cuenca, so I sometimes stop in on the way home after an evening of cigar smoking. Kelly’s purports to be an Irish bar and is, in fact, the dingiest dive bar in the whole downtown area. I usually like this kind of place because regular everyday people can be found drinking there, and I like to get into conversations with new bar acquaintances. The trouble with Kelly’s is that they blast the jukebox so loud you can hardly yell out your order let alone converse with anyone. As you enter from the street, the bar is to the left and stool tables stand along the right wall. The room is narrow and deep. When you walk in the door, you first notice the various clientèle that hang out at the front tables. There is usually an old woman who smiles at you and is obviously wasted. Then you see a group of younger friends that congregate at the front end of the bar, rousting it up over sports. There a couple of flat screens on the wall behind the bar. You have to read the captioning because the sound is always turned off in favor of the blaring jukebox. I usually wander on back to the back end of the bar to find a vacant barstool. There I find solo drinkers hunched over the bar, which is the posture I eventually take as well. If the music was not so loud, we could all say hi and strike up conversations, and it is my impression that is what these people are looking for, but Kelly’s, alas, is not that kind of quiet neighborhood bar. As long as dollars are being fed to the jukebox, the bartenders hear the chi-ching of cash and that’s what it’s all about. It seems to be a successful formula for this establishment as it has survived for many, many years at this location. There are other neighborhood bars within a few miles of the area and you have to find one of these places if you want a place that is less«touristy». However, this place is fine if you just need a quick cold beer.

I give Kelly’s five stars. .. for what it is. If you want fancy, you don’t go Kelly’s. Ladies, if you want to get dolled up for a night out with your friends sipping awful, colorful drinks that you saw on «Sex and the City» a few years ago, you don’t go to Kelly’s. If you want a bar with balls, if you want a few drinks, if you want to watch a game, you go to Kelly’s.

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy, In all my travels around the world I have never seen or heard of a bar that compares to Kelly’s. This is without a doubt the best bar on Earth.

I love Kelly’s Pub. I’ve been going there for years. Great people. Great bartender. Great beers on tap. This is not a first date sort of place. This is a go in your flip flops and old jeans kind of place. A place where I have seen all walks of life. No matter who you are, you fit in at Kelly’s Pub. It’s an absolute gem in Downtown Hollywood. One thing to note– they only accept cash. So, come prepared. If not, expect to pay to use the ATM they have onsite.

Hollywood Circle is currently experiencing a renovation effort(read: gentrification to bring in more money and desirable clientle), which more or less means half of the places are closed along the street. The place we intended to go, O’somethings was one of these, even though locals tell me it had been there for over 15years. Walked around the corner to the next street over and came across Kelly’s Pub. Kelly’s might be best described as a blue-collar bar. It does not deserve the moniker of «hole in the wall» as it is pretty spacious and clean as Irish pubs go. No food served, but the mandatory Guinness and Harp were on tap, as well as an Irish red ale(no, not Killians!) that was decent but not amazing. The bartender was great, and even though it was cash only and our first time ever in there, he wouldn’t take payment until we were ready to leave. That’s a level of trust you just do not find much anymore. I don’t know how much the beer cost because my friend that was visiting paid for everything, but I imagine it was not too expensive.
