Richelle’s Salon and Day Spa

Because my beloved husband could tell I was in need of pampering, he insisted I make an appointment for a spa day. While I have has spa services at other locations, never have I had the opportunity to have it all done in one place in one day. I had no idea where to begin looking for a day spa, so I turned to the Internet and read reviews on Richelle’s. Their website was well done and because of the reviews, photos and location, I booked my appointment and counted down the days to my day of tranquility.
My retreat began with an amazing steam in the hydro pod thing-​y that looks like something out of a Star Trek episode I saw in 1976. If you haven’t experienced this creation, go to Richelle’s for this alone! I’m a pretty claustrophobic person so I had my doubts that I would survive, but I did because my neck and head stuck out quite a bit. While the pod went from steaming my body to showering it with a gentle rain fall of water, Laura worked my neck and began moving all the tension away. I knew I was in store for a real treat with her! After drying off, I moved into the massage room where she gave the most incredible 90-​minute massage I’ve ever had, including a parafin wax dip for my hands and an aromatherapy rain shower on my back. She used very calming words which helped me to let go of all the outside stuff going on in my never stopping brain. She was very respectful of my privacy when I turned over each time. Laura has such strength in her hands and body that I felt like a bowl of Jell-​o when we were finished. What a GREAT therapist! I’m going back to her and am already planning the date.
Next stop was a wonderful facial with hydro eye treatment and extractions with Heather. First of all, if my skin could look like Heather’s skin… sign me up! She GLOWS! The neatest thing about my time with Heather was the fact that she treated the very large and painful boil on my left cheek with TLC. I was so self conscious about the horrible growth, but Heather was very professional, concerned and caring. I am seeing her again and establishing a regular rapport with her as my esthetician. I’m sure my skin will be fabulous as I continue using the cleanser she recommended and purchased. Toner and moisturizer coming soon!
To wrap up my experience, Taite provided me with a much needed manicure and pedicure. There are fewer things in life better than these two things, and Taite was a delight to spend my time with. I must recommend their pedi-​chairs because they are AMAZING! They have these leg lifters so I don’t have to hold up my leg weight and neither did she.
Mikelle was a delight to work with in setting up my appointment and booking my next mani /​pedi. Lacie at the desk and was able to handle the affairs of payment with much courtesy and kindness. I’ve found my home and I’m always going back to Richelle’s.

I had a facial and what a wonderful way to start the weekend. My therapist was amazing and very knowledgeable about the product and the modalities used. I would for sure come back to this spa. It is very clean and the staff is very friendly.

Love this salon! Caitlyn was amazing and was able to do exactly what I wanted with my hair. She took her time and made sure I loved it! I will definitely be going back!

This place is fantastic!
My girlfriend and I went there tonight for a spontaneous date night pedicure… we had a great time. The staff was fun and friendly.
The spa itself is very nice, relaxing and comfortable… We will make this a regular spot for sure!!!

The entrance was a little hard to find, but once I descended into the basement, I was rewarded with a clean, soft lit space. At that moment, I wished I had booked a massage in addition to my haircut.
The receptionist was very friendly, got me checked in, and I only waited about a minute before Kate, my stylist came and retrieved me from the waiting area. Kate listened to what I wanted with my hair, and although it probably made her nervous, went with it when I told her I trusted her, and that it was ‘just hair, and would grow back’ if I didn’t like it. This is especially tricky because I have naturally curly hair (not ringlets, but loose curls). Lucky for me, I LOVE it! She cut 3 inches off, and dyed it a richer, darker shade of brown, and it’s perfect for summer. I’ve gotten so many compliments!

I wanted to do something just for me, so I decided my favorite thing is to get a massage and Richelle’s treats you right. I went about 30 minutes early so I could sit in the relaxation room and in the hot tub for a few minutes. It helped get my head out of the world! Then I had a wonderful 90 minutes massage. I didn’t want to leave and I can’t wait to go back. All of the people there were so nice and treated me like a princess. I love this spa!

Best spa I’ve been to in Salt Lake! Unlike other spa’s I’ve been to, this is a spa you will want to spend the day at. It is a very beautiful European style spa. The staff are very friendly and informative if you need anything. When you book an appointment — you have the option of using the jacuzzi or sauna!
After checking in, they take you to a dressing room which has a gorgeous vanity, double-​sinks, a shower and toilets. You are assigned your own locker, robe and slippers. They have everything you need to get ready: body wash, shampoo, conditioner — even Decleor face wash! Plus body lotion, combs, hair ties and a blow dryer.
Before my treatment, I drank tea and ate trail mix and pretzels on their lounge chairs in the separate waiting room, which was very quiet. (I also saw water and sodas)
I had the couples massage and it included a dip for two in the color changing jacuzzi, which is located INSIDE the couples massage room — the ultimate in privacy! It was so nice not having to share it with anyone else but my sweetie. The Swedish massage itself was wonderful! My masseuse was friendly, professional and obviously well trained. My boyfriend said he enjoyed the pressure of his deep tissue massage.
I came to Richelle’s on a second occasion and had the ultimate facial. I left with glowing skin that lasted for days! The esthetician was incredibly knowledgeable and guided me through my treatment, giving short notes on what she was using and how it benefits my skin. Although she was never trying to sell me anything, after I saw my skin in the mirror I HAD to buy the moisturizer she used on me.
Needless to say I have found MY go-​to spa!
**update: Richelle’s sent me a $ 20 credit for my birth month. YAY!

Quiet and clean with friendly and knowledgable staff. This place is quickly becoming a favorite retreat!

Christine is just awesome! I highly recommend her for facials, peels, waxing and lash extensions! Love her! Just visit the spa, you won’t leave unhappy with her. Oh and try the shellac! :)
