So disappointed with the blowout I just got at your salon. The woman was rude and extremely rough. I said 5x I wanted volume & it came out stick straight. This is the first & last time I ever get my hair done here.

Flat our worst haircut I’ve ever had. I’ll even send you a picture if you want to see. The women didn’t level my sideburns correctly, didn’t shape it up the back evenly, and basically kicked me up out of the seat once she was done…

This place is terrible. I’m a guy with short hair that is very easy to cut and not mess up. I’m not high maintenance either. But the back of my head was butchered — I have random patches of different lengths back there now that I can feel. Don’t go here

Hubby has been getting his hair cut here for years. They have always done a nice job on his hair. I went with him for his most recent haircut since we had just gotten lunch and were already out. We were well received when we walked in the door. The staff was extremely friendly and asked what services we needed. The woman cutting my husband’s hair let me sit in the seat next to them since that stylist was not in the salon that day. She was attentive and listened to how my husband wanted his hair cut. They even have two special seats for children’s haircuts, a police car and a tractor. I think that’s really awesome. The salon is very clean and modern looking. Men’s haircuts are $ 18. Hoboken Buzz Cuts offers discount coupons though via four different means. 1. Check-in on Unilocal for $ 2 off any haircut. 2. Sign up on their website to join their mailing list to receive coupons. 3. Sign up via text messages(info on their website on the Promotions tab). 4. Like them on Facebook for coupons.

Having Buzz Cuts just around the corner from me for years made them a rather easy choice. Having inconsistent service around Hoboken and Manhattan for years made them an even easier choice to stick with. Any time I stopped by, be it with or without an appointment. I knew for sure I was going to get a great cut and above the cut customer service. On the one and only time I did manage to have a bad experience. Ownership stepped up and quickly remedied the situation. That’s why, when I moved to Journal Square. I decided the hop on the PATH train and the additional walk were more than compensated by the great service and handsome cuts. High praise.

I’ve been going to Porzia for 6 years now and she’s the best. I’m extremely picky with my hair and she always makes sure it’s exactly how I want it before she lets me out of the chair. Definitely go see Porzia if you’re a guy. You won’t be disappointed.

Worst salon EVER. Ive lived in 3 countries and this is the worst haircut i got 3 times in a row(gave them a second and yhird chance onlu because the hairdressers are different every time). It is so bad i asked my wife to correct the damage(didnt want to go back to these ppl) i’d upload photoz of yheir«masterpiece» but that will mean im spending too much time on this salon. Im a guy with a simple short hair how is it possible to go wrong 3 times in a row???

Very affordable and go to Amparo to get your hair cut. She does a great job for men’s haircuts. I can’t opine on the overall place because i’m sure each experience is different based on who cuts your hair.

I love to get my hair cut here and think it is a great place! The staff is so friendly, and very attentive to their customer and go above and beyond our expectaions. I am always greeted with a smile and a hello and in addition if they are busy they excuse their self and care to ask what we would like and that if we’d like there would be a wait and get to us in a few mintues. Lori is a great person and works hard on her business. Monica is a great colorist she corrected my damaged over work bleached blonde hair and really showed she cared about helping me get my hair back! I have been a customer since 2006 and wouldn’t change it for any other salon in Hoboken. It comes down to listening to their customers and respecting their request, also they don’t go buck crazy and cutting your hair which ever way they please. It can not get any better than this.

So for $ 20 you get an attitude, silly small talk, mediocre service, not the best, no wash/dry, in & out haircut in Hoboken… I’m not sure what I was expecting, but this wasn’t it. Oh well, you get what you were rushing for :-\

The reason why I decided to come here was because I needed an emergency trim and my roommate recommended it. It is only $ 20 and I was a walk-in which is very convenient. OK, so let’s start with the service. Which was bleh not the best. I walked in and had to stand there for about 2 Minutes looking confused and a bit lost since one of the girls greeted me and turned back around… Oook. Then someone came, I said I needed a trim and had no appointment. They had me sit a wait for about 5 min(not bad for a walk-in). Now, just that you can understand; I take my hair veeeery seriously! So seriously that I never go to salons because I rather do it myself. I have thick, long hair(down to my waist). I was sooo nervous to try someone new and so I was expecting a bit more friendliness and talking… Ummm nope, not really. The woman came, didn’t introduce herself:/, sat me, asked what I wanted, to which a responded«just a trim please» and that was it. She started doing her thing. I did like the fact that she took her time and checked, and checked over and ooover again just to make sure it was even:). The haircut was good, nothing out of this world(I was not expecting that for $ 20). I think I will come back as long as I just want a trim. It’s quick, cheap and no appointment needed. I hate giving long reviews but finally. If you are in a rush, don’t need anything fancy done to your hair and want a cheap(for Hoboken) haircut… This is your place. Just average but I can deal.

Very much an average salon. I got my hair cut for $ 17. They do offer student and senior citizen discounts, which is nice. However I have no real reason to go back.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would have done that. I gave this place a second chance after a haircut I wasn’t totally happy with, and this second chance was based on convenience(they are near my apartment and I didn’t feel like traveling into the city to go to my regular barber). Big mistake! I have what can be considered one of the worst haircuts ever. This place is filled with inexperienced, terrible stylists, who only seem to get worse and worse. I will NEVER step foot in this place again, and I hope no one else does either. Quick hair cuts or not, this place should be out of business, their practice is disgusting.

This place seems like it caters to kids. I’ve taken my kids both to downtown and uptown location at least 5 times. Each time my daughters hair was uneven and the last time i took my son and his hair was awful. I chalked it up to kids being kids and maybe mine were just difficult to cut. Low and behold for their next cut they went to a high end salon … a bit more pricey; but my children no longer look like I cut their hair in my home bathroom!!!

When i sat down and told the barber what kind of haircut i wanted(which is a taper) she actually said«I dont know how to do that, you have to go to a babershop for that». I thought she was kidding. I continued to explain what i wanted and she started. She completely ignored everything i said, basically buzzed my whole head, and didnt care about her job at all. She showed zero pride in her work. And im a very easy going guy when it comes to my hair. Worst Haircut i have ever gotten. I could have did a better job doing it myself. I still cant believe she said what she said.

Simpily put, I needed a quick cut and I was butchered. Thanks to this place, I now look like a leukemia patient. There has been a lesson learned my friends… to be faithful to your regular barbers/hairstylists… ive cheated and now I must pay the consequences… hellloooo Yankee fitted

Hoboken Buzz Cuts( ) has two locations on Washington Street in Hoboken — one between 2nd Street and 3rd Street and one on 14th Street. Buzz Cuts knows their clientele well — young Hoboken residents — who want style without spending a fortune. The minimally decorated salon is located conveniently to the Hoboken PATH terminal — as well as numerous bars — and provides quick and inexpensive cuts and colors for men and women — adults and kids — to a buzzin’ dance soundtrack(typically, 92.3NOWFM or 103.5WKTU) that keeps the hairstylists clippin’ along throughout their day. Buzz Cuts doesn’t take appointments for cuts; you can make an appointment for color services. I started going to Buzz Cuts when I moved to Jersey City about three years ago. After a few disastrous hair experiences at local salons in Hoboken and Jersey City that left me looking like an extra from the opening title credits in Full Metal Jacket, a friend of mine from work recommended Buzz Cuts — primarily for the attractive stylists, I believe. Claudine, Porzia, and Gabby are the most experienced stylists on-staff at the downtown location. Even though I’ve relocated almost 50 miles west of Hoboken, I’ve continued to go back to Claudine to cut my hair every four weeks. She’s been phenomenal — friendly, consistent(providing a perfect cut every time), and accomodating(she’s often stayed after the 8pm closing time to fit me in when I’ve called ahead to let her know I’m running late). It’s clear that Buzz Cuts doesn’t offer the cachet or pampering treatment of a day spa on the east side of the Hudson River, but if you’re looking for an inexpensive and quick haircut or color — stop by Buzz Cuts, then spend the money you’ve saved to meet your friends for a drink at one of the many nearby watering holes to show off your new cut or color.

Horrible. I went to the new Buzz Cuts location around the corner from this location on Washington St. I just moved to NYC to attend grad school and wanted to get my shaggy mess looking good for the first day. When I saw the $ 16 cost of a haircut, and thought it looked all right in there, I gave it a shot. The woman that cut my hair told me was actually the colorist, and would rather be doing that, than cutting hair. Strike one. Even if that is true, don’t tell your customer. Anyways, she cut the top of my hair in the middle, but left the rest long. I looked horrible. She just took off the robe and was like, «have a good day.» I had to tell her I didn’t like it and try and fix it — after two trys it still looked like I was a member of the Who from the 60’s. I still can’t figure out everything that is wrong with it, but it just looks really messed up. I wore a hat on my first day.
