This used to be my favorite secondhand place to shop at. Then they changed the store around & you can’t find a freaking thing! All the kids clothes are mixed up… girls/boys/0−3 mo. up to 5T all together jumbled up. A ridiculous mess. Not sure if new management took over or what, but not what it used to be. A real disappointment. :(

Being a single mom on a tight ass budget, this is the place for me. I often come here to check out the deals. There are deals, yes! Having a boy, that means rough and tough play. The great thing about this place is that the clothes are of excellent quality. One would not know they were used, which is very important with kids today. I have gotten school clothes here every year, as well as winter coats and boots. I can’t stress enough how much I have saved. It’s hard to find jeans for him so I get those at Kmart. Tee shirts and hoodies and longsleeved are quite easy. Some things still have tags on them and how can you go wrong? As far as furniture goes, I have gotten nice pieces. I got a kitchen table with 2 chairs, near mint, for $ 15. My mother got several pieces and a new loveseat for $ 45. Where can you get that?! It’s gorgeous and comfy. I have decorated my house from this place. From couch throw pillows to comforters and curtains for my son’s room — last year I spent a total of $ 11 on a sheet set, comforter and curtains all of a baseball theme. When he was younger I spent LESS on a Thomas the Tank theme. You can save at least 90% this way. My kitchen and other rooms are decorated from items from this place. ALL of my wall hangings are from here. Shelves, spice rack, it’s all used and in excellent condition. I love seeing a friend ohh and aah over something unique I have and are more stunned to hear where it came from. I get clothes for myself as well. I love capri pants, and have mega pairs. Summer shorts, tees. I work in retail and wear a smock, so I am comfortable. I can honestly walk in with $ 10 and come out with bags of clothes in excellent up-to-date condition. I do agree with one post, the jeans are outdated acid washed. I thought I was the only one who thought that! But it is true. Holidays are fun. I have tons of Christmas decorations from this place. Last year I bought a tree with built in lights, it’s a table top thing, for ONEDOLLAR! It is so cute! So pretty. I have a closet of things for each holiday that I bought. I highly recommend this place, as well as others like it. It will save you a bundle.

S’ok as thrift stores go. It’s getting harder and harder to find stuff as more people start checking these types of places out. As odd as it sounds, I’ ve always found Salvation army to be the most expensive of thrift stores. There are plenty of larger and cheaper thrift places to check out in the area if you’re really looking for some neat treasures(Unique in Merrillville and The Village in Hessville)

This place is huge, but unfortunately I can’t say I’ve found a ton of stuff here. Correction: I did score a «hardcore christian chick» shirt one time(black babydoll shirt with«hardcore christian chick» on the front in tiny silver dots and a couple little star studs that really give it that authentic hardcore appearance) That’s definitely a prized possession. Almost as good as my «heretic» shirt, but not quite as awesome. *LOL* Oh, and I found a twin to my favorite track jacket, which was awesome since I actually went back to Kohl’s to buy another one and they were out. And it was brand new! I don’t know how I manage to find so much brand new stuff at thrift stores… I guess it’s a gift. ;) I like it. I definitely recommend this place for any«Highlander» fans. The last few times I’ve been there, they’ve had an entire rack of NOTHINGBUT Highlander shirts. It was quite puzzling. My sister got a killer pair of platforms here once. I wanted them but they were too big. She came home the next day wearing them. Grrrr! Looking for jeans here is a lost cause, unless you have a fondness for acid washed, tapered ankle, high waisted, straight outta the 80’s jeans. We’re talking Chic, Jordache, Z. Cavaricci, Guess… you know what I’m talking about. I have yet to see a single pair of good pants at this place. The shirts are all arranged by color, which is nice, but the racks are positioned in such a way that your arms go numb after about 10 minutes of flipping through them. I recommend grabbing one of the office chairs from the furniture section and rolling your way on down the aisles.
