We stopped in on a whim while passing through Hinsdale at 11 am on a Sunday, and were surprised that we were the only customers there… the place should’ve been full, as our breakfast was wonderful. Our table service was friendly… we figured the waitress was also the owner. Everything was very clean, incl the bathroom. Our food came quick, was hot, and tasted great. Although it did not look like a traditional diner, the cook(also the owner?) ran the grill diner-style. There were, probably, a dozen tables-for-four(with tablecloths)…but, no counter seats. Our«home fries expert» said the potatoes were seasoned and cooked perfectly. And our«coffee addict» said her coffee was very nice. All of our meals. were reasonably priced…~$ 10/person. We were in town, checking out potential campgrounds; when we return, to camp, we’ll definitely be back.

Nice people & good food. The eggs were perfect! We stopped in for breakfast while on a road trip. My husband had an omelette, and I had scrambled eggs & sausage. The service was great, and the food was clean. Bathrooms were also clean.

Raynette’s Diner & Coffee Shop is a casual breakfast and lunch restaurant located along Main Street in Hinsdale, named after the owners Ray and Nanette. The atmosphere inside is homey with the open dining area and kitchen/grill area in one room. The walls in the dining room are painted mostly red orange plus some lime green colors, shiny old wooden floors and table seating(with blue & white checker table covers) for up to around 50 people and there’s also a big old TV. During nicer weather, there are also a couple of picnic tables with umbrellas in front of the restaurant. The breakfast offerings include egg dishes, 3 egg omelets, pancakes, French toast, Belgian waffles, corned beef hash, oatmeal, sausage gravy/biscuits, and sides. Most breakfast dishes $ 4.99-$ 6.99. The lunch offerings include sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, fried seafood, chicken tenders, salads, fries and onion rings. Lunch prices for most items/plates $ 3.75-$ 7.75. Stopped in here around 12:30PM for a bite to eat. I grabbed a menu and sat myself. They were serving both breakfast and lunch, so I decided to go with breakfast. I ordered the Western Omelet($ 6.25 plus tax) served with homefries and toast. From my table I could observe my food being cooked to order on grill by the owner, ready in under 10 minutes. The Western omelet(blended) was grilled firm on the outside and soft inside with a good amount of green peppers, onions, and sliced deli ham, folded over thick melted white American cheese slices. The homefries(fresh cut potato cubes) were nicely grilled and seasoned. The wheat toast slices were buttered, Smuckers preserves on the table. The breakfast food overall was very tasty and filling. The service was prompt, though a bit rushed towards the end. The check was dropped off as I was eating. After I finished breakfast, the plates were cleared quickly. The server from the kitchen area asked if I was all set as I was getting the money ready to cash out.
