Fast service which is good but the cheese fries were kind of cold and too soggy for me. I like a little crunch and there was way too much cheese. Mabey they should offer cheese in a cup. But, their funnel cakes were great! Burger pretty good but a little greasy. A movie was playing on the television that was not very friendly. But overall, pretty good food.

My wife and I recently moved to Hinsdale from the city and have been trying out chain burger restaurants in the neighboring cities. No need to look any further. This will be our go to place for a quick and easy lunch or a carryout for dinner. The service was very friendly and the food we ordered was very delicious. The quality of the burgers and fries were high. My wife(size 00) took one bite of her cheeseburger and said that she should have ordered a bigger size because it tasted so good. This would be a good place to take the kids as well. There are a few toy machines in the front.(Claw machine, stickers, etc)

Great variety of dogs, burger and sides! Oh and PIZZA PUFFs! Milk shakes are tasty. Loaded tots are delicious. But we think it could use some seating that’s a bit more comfortable and give the employees a dress code instead of sweats.

Not your typical burger joint! Creative kid and adult friendly menu. Great service. My new go to in Hinsdale!

By far, the best menu and food in Hinsdale. So many«adult» selections. Amazing salads, homemade soups that rival Chicagoan best restaurants. The«hot dog stand» menu items are fantastic as well and extremely creative.!!

They have pizza puffs! Cue nostalgic high school cafeteria memories. Pork fries were huge and delicious — the cheese sauce is ace. Good gyro, could have used more tomato but I’m sure the friendly folks behind the counter would have happily sliced up more had I dined in. Reasonable prices, especially for Hinsdale.

My office ordered lunch from here. It had good reviews so we were excited to try it. Picked it up, was told«its all there», so we did not feel the need to check the bag. We were wrong. Got back to the office, and ½ of the order was missing! Called right away and the gentleman on the phone said — «yeah, we forgot to give you the 2nd bag. We’ll bring it right over». Our office is about 10 minutes from the restaurant. So we waited… and waited… and waited. We called after 20 minutes, and he said the delivery girl left 7 or 8 minutes ago. So we waited… and waited… and finally about 35 minutes after the initial phone call the food showed up. Too bad our lunch hour was now over. Surprisingly the hot dogs and gyros were hot, but it tasted marginal. The french fries were soggy. I will not go back.

Stop what you are doing and go to Frank’s. That is all. Huge selection of gourmet food items. I had the grand slam(burger with Mac & cheese, pulled pork, and onion rings). My buddy had a grand slam burger(FOUR ½ lb patties). One of the best burgers I have ever eaten.

Yes! Hinsdale needed a spot like this! It is sooooo much cleaner and neater looking than Zingelmans every was. They are open on Sundays. They have a french fry menu. Yep! you can get south of the border fries with chorizo, Greek fries with gyro meat and feta and tater tots too with all sorts of fun toppings. Healthy? Hell no! Good? Hell yeah!

Went here with my kids for lunch. I was next door picking up a cake and saw that this place had a gluten free sticker in the window. I was skeptical, but thought I would give it a try. I was going to take the order to go but I’m g, ad we stayed. They had a great menu, many items to choose from. My son had a burger and was happy with it, he also had a shake and thought it was very good my other son had a corn dog with apple slices and he was also happy with his meal. I had a hot dog with fries. The hot dog was good as were the fries. You may not think a hot dog and fries is nothing to write home about, but when you are gluten free and can’t just go out and get a hot dog,(on a bun) let alone fries it’s a great day! The bun was very good. The owner was very nice, said they have a dedicated fryer for fries so no worries for cross contamination. I am not local but not that far that I won’t be visiting here again soon.

A nice menu upgrade over this space’s last two tenants(Doggie Diner and Zingelman’s). There are numerous specialty dogs on the menu which gives the restaurant a much needed theme. The owner was manning the flat top and vertical spit on our late lunch visit, there was also a cashier/order taker at the counter and a server. All were very friendly, and the owner asked how everything was about halfway through the meal. This made for a nice casual dining experience. Now the food: Chicago Dog: I think this was my mom’s first encounter with the real deal. She liked it, though in retrospect, she said she would have them go a little lighter on the neon relish. From what I could see, it seemed like it was truly made in the Chicago way. Maxwell Street Polish: This was my dad’s order. Lots of caramelized onions, a nicely charred polish sausage and yellow mustard. He enjoyed the flavor, and needless to say, finished it completely. Philly Cheesesteak with Cheese Sauce: I confess I haven’t been to Philadelphia to taste the authentic item, but I’ve had numerous versions in other cities. I think that means I have to judge it by itself, not comparing it to some ideal version. Well, as a sandwich, this was pretty great. It was very difficult to eat, as they smothered it in about a pint of cheese sauce(I may be exaggerating). That made it a utensil sandwich, not a hand sandwich. Unfortunately, their silverware is of the bendy plastic nature. Again, increasing the difficulty in actually eating it. Maybe next time I’ll bring one of those titanium sporks they sell at camping stores. Regardless of the difficulty in eating it, the taste was excellent — sauteed onions, and peppers with thinly sliced ribeye steak. I’d definitely get it again, but there are so many delicious-sounding items on the menu I’ll have to come back to it. All-in-all, I was really impressed. You’ll find great service, good ingredients, a creative menu and delicious food here at Frank’s. It’s a great alternative to some of the pricier options in downtown Hinsdale.

I was in the hunt for a good gyro sandwhich in the HINSDALE area and stopped in to try the one at franks on 1st. Well I don’t have to go any further as it was as good as any I’ve had. The first good sign was that they had 2 gyro spits standing right on the cooking counter. 1 is for chicken gyros. I had the regular but I didn’t stop there. I couldn’t resist trying the pastrami special. That was also great with plenty of meat and flavor. Using quality meat from Vienna Beef makes a difference. It’s not the«Mannys Deli» type of sandwich but those are in a different class all together. As the owner mentioned the pastrami is not the same as Mannys but it’s also half the price. And those prices are very reasonable. I will be back to try the rest of the menu and I encourage you to do the same.

Great new place that I really hope makes it. The food is excellent, with more than your typical hot dog joint options.(I had a fried shrimp po’ boy; my son had a hot dog, wrapped in bacon, smothered in sauerkraut and those little shoestring potatoes.) Outstanding fries. MERKT’S cheese. And the owners: really super sweet, nice, nice people. It’s a place you can feel good about and I will definitely be going back to try the homemade black bean burger. Just awesome! P. S. — Very cool that they have gluten-free buns from the GF bakery next door so that gluten sensitive folks can have their dog on a bun.

Very good place to eat. Had a gyro and my wife had a BLT with Cajun fries, both of us loved it. The owners were especially nice as they gave us extra Mac n cheese and corn dogs for the kids. All the food was great, definitely will return.

Really good hotdogs. I was surprised to see this place has more of a creative, gourmet hotdog menu, unlike the Doggie Diner that used to occupy that space. I had the cheesesteak hotdog which was awesome. I would definitely go back.
