We love going to Einsteins but the service here does not make it enjoyable. The staff could care less about you, you’ll stand there for minutes without them acknowledging you, they get frustrated when you ask for anything specific. It’s incredibly slow but that’s something that can happen anywhere but worst of all, the staff argues and yells at each other constantly. It’s beyond unprofessional, it’s embarrassing for them. Go for the bagels but expect a long wait and a couple arguments.

Terrible staff. The wait is long, the staff was arguing over who was doing more work, all the while the manager just carried around a clipboard as if she was more worried about inventory than that customers were waiting in line without even being acknowledged. DONOTGOHERE! They don’t deserve the business. This place needs to go out of business if the owners can’t read all the reviews that point to the same issues for over a year. Went for lunch, wound up leaving after 5 minutes waiting at the counter for someone to even acknowledge our existence. Franks on 1st got our business, had never been there and wound up really enjoying it. So thanks to Einstein’s being pathetic, we found a nice place with good service.

As its the only bagel place in town, I’m here again. First, SLOWWWWWWW. Some undercover from corporate needs to try this place in the morning. The worst staff ever. Always the same. They ask you three times what you ordered, have no sense of how to get anything done fast. They have an order system, for a bagel place, that requires you to order at one register and then pay at another. Makes a slow system even slower. Today I enjoyed my Sesame cream cheese tomato and bits of BLUERAG bagel. Yup, a nice hunk of the blue rag they used to hold my bagel while slicing it was embedded in my breakfast. SKIPTHISPLACE, better yet, Mr. Einstein, shut it down.

Same experience as others. We ended up leaving disappointed with our experience AND our food. My friend’s sandwich was wrong but we didn’t feel like dealing with the idiotic staff again! What is going on with this place? How can you F up a bagel!!!

If there were an option for no stars, I would have chosen it. Terrible customer service and way too expensive. Listen up ladies… no customer should have to interrupt your personal conversation to be greeted and place an order. On top of this inconvenience, they got it wrong, twice! Seriously, isn’t there something better we could put in this space? Never returning.

do not. I repeat, do not go here unless you have 30 minutes to set aside to order 1 freaking bagel. even if you go here when there is no line, they will still take their sweet time making your order and they will most likely screw it up once and have to make it again. terrible service. sometimes you get a nice person, but sometimes you get someone who acts like you are a huge inconvenience to them. I only go to this place because it is the only breakfast place within walking distance of my house and every time I step into this place I completely regret going.

Ugh… ordered a tuna on ciabatta with red onion. Barely ANY tuna and came with lettuce and tomato after I specifically said no to either one. I’m sorry… if you can’t get a simple sandwich order right… will not be back

A bit overpriced for the quality. Great customer service! Poor quality of chicken, it tastes like bleach. The Nova Lox is the best quality food served of all the options I’ve tried.

Hey! What’s not to like? If you’re going to carb load on bagels, this is a reliable option. Good selection — the Asiago and chocolate chip bins are replenished regularly. There are usually coupons available online or in Sunday newspaper, but the Baker’s Dozen(with 2 tubs of cream cheese) is a good deal. Tub out!

Went in on a Saturday morning(around 10:30). There was no line when I came in and all I wanted was a plain bagel, no cream cheese not toasted or anything so I figured I’d be in and out super fast. The staff obviously had other ideas. I literally stood at their counter for 5 whole minutes until someone even acknowledged my presence… I should have left I know it. All I got was«We’ll be with you soon.» All of the workers proceeded to continue making whatever sandwich/bagel concoction they were making(3 workers for one sandwich, really?). It took 10 minutes before my order was even taken! Then it took another 5 minutes before one of the high schoolers, who kept flirting with each other instead of actually working, could find the time to grab my one plain bagel and put it into a bag. To say this was a frustrating experience is putting it mildly.

Stuff is rude he didn’t even say thank you and makes me feel he is very impatient… I got a Asparagus, Mushroom & Swiss, the taste is not impressive and baked hard doesn’t looks like the one on the menu. I didn’t try other bagels, but I won’t go again.

I like Einstein alot! I’ve never had a problem with slow and/or rude service; however I’ve never been here at a peak time. Their bagels are delish — and I love me some thick, chewy, carb-filled bagels. I suppose if I lived up on the North Shore, I’d be spending all of my free time at Kaufman’s, but I personally think Einstein does very well. Their lox and bagel is fantastic, too. Good sandwiches, yummy spreads, and a nice choice of coffee drinks. Nice location in downtown Hinsdale. That’s all you need to know. Now my mouth is watering. How very Pavlovian of me.

The staff at this place really stinks. They are slow and rude. I have had way better experiences at Einsteins elsewhere.

I like Einstein’s in general, but the staff here are so slow. In the morning it gets busy… Duh… it’s a bagel joint on a corner of a neighborhood downtown and with school all around the neighborhood… I don’t think they have«morning» people to work the AM shifts. Other than that, the food is fine.

Don’t use them for office catering. Dropped off our order and missed the sandwiches. Pickles — check, Fruit salad — check, Chips — check. Cookies — check. Main course — oops. So I called and was super nice about it. The guy apologized and said he was on his way with them, that the driver had simply forgotten them in the refrigerator there. They are only 15 minutes away so I asked everyone to delay our meeting by about 20 minutes. 30 minutes later … no sandwiches. I called, only to be alerted that the guy had left with the sandwiches 10 minutes before. I said, «But I called 30 minutes ago» and I got an «Well, I don’t know what to tell you, hon.»(Actual words. Hon? Come on. You’re kidding me. You called me hon?) 15 minutes later, my sandwiches come, so it took them 45 minutes to bring my sandwiches. And guess what? No regular-sized plates. Mini plates that do not hold a sandwich. Well isn’t that great? The guy that delivered it said he would have his catering manager call. He did call and I called him back and was very polite(explaining what happened) at which point he says, «Well, I’m not near the computer. I’ll have to look this up, get the store’s side of the story and see if I can do anything for you. That is, if you ever order from here again.» What? What kind of customer service is that? SEE what you can do? IF I ever order again? And guess what? it’s been four days. I guess he hasn’t gotten to a computer yet.

Meh, indeed. The food is mediocre, the coffee and coffee-type beverages are blah, and the service is awful. A typical experience consists of waiting in line, usually in back of someone ordering two dozen individually-selected bagels for her office. When you are served, the person behind the counter looks at you as though he is doing you a favor in acknowledging your presence. Then, he yells out your order in a foreign language to the food-prep people. I’ve been to Einstein’s a number of times, but have decided that the place is a true waste of money and time. Wish there were a «real» bagel shop in Hinsdale.

This review is more about the service. I’ve been here a number of times for breakfast/lunch cuz it’s right next to our office. No line when I went, but last time I got a wrap from there(which wasn’t very good) they didn’t even give me my chips. I walked back to my office and realized I didn’t have it, so I had to walk back. The worker wasn’t even apologetic. She just asked what kind of chips I wanted. It also took forever for them to make my wrap.

I’ve eaten here for both breakfast and lunch and I’ve enjoyed each. Starting with the restaurant itself, it is located right on downtown Hinsdale, a very nice spot. The restaurant itself isn’t huge, but there are a dozen or so tables for those who’d like to sit and eat. The offer all types of, you guessed it, bagels. Every bagel I’ve had has been delicious. They also offer breakfast and lunch sandwiches on the bagels. These are all incredibly tasty and a bit on the gourmet side. Definitely not some cheap, poorly put together sandwich. With each sandwich, you get a pickle and the choice of one side(chips, coleslaw, potatoes salad). They also have some other sides that cost a bit extra. The price is a little higher than average, but still not really expensive. For a sandwich and drink expect to spend $ 9 – 10. I like to stop here for a quick bite to eat before getting on the train which is about one block away. I’d recommend it for just that or for a quick breakfast or lunch.

Do you like lukewarm coffee? I don’t. I like mine hot, hot, hot! Unfortunately, I grabbed my morning cup right as it was about to expire, methinks. I hadn’t been to an Einstein Brothers in some time, and they’ve apparently jumped on the healthy wagon. I mean, these days, it’s somewhat more difficult to get people into your stole with the word bagel(Oh no, carbs!) in your name. So they now offer ‘bagel thin’ sandwiches(it’s a bagel revolution!) in addition to breakfast wraps, etc. made with egg whites and turkey sausage. I wanted to try one of these healthier creations, but the line full of giggling high school girls made me hit the ignore button on my hunger pangs as I didn’t want to be late for my meeting across the way. Hopefully next time I’m in the area, the coffee is HOT.
