Absolutely not. I came here with my family on my birthday and I was so embarrassed to have even stepped inside. The waitstaff just stared at my family, I guess we are not their typical clientele. The décor was very pretty but the food was disgusting. There were flies crawling over every single item. There were flies in the sushi, flies dipping their legs into the sauced chicken and stuff, etc. Even if there were no flies I probably would not have stayed. We spent probably five minutes inside and then left. I was humiliated to have even suggested this place. Disgusting. We went to corporate chain Bonefish instead which wasn’t my preferred choice either but at least I knew my food wouldn’t be as nasty as this place.

Absolutely worst restaurant I’ve eaten in a long time. Weird location, horrible service. Did not eat buffet, ordered from the kitchen and found hair in two of three dishes and they tried to tell us to pay for our meals. God awful.

Lots to choose from the buffet. However, their food was just ok, at best! No seasonings on the food I had, just blah tasting! I love coconut shrimp… Not here! Plus floor around the buffet was slippery! l

This place is dirty food is fair at best. you get what you pay for. I wish I had read the reviews first. The heath department needs to shut this dump down.

While visiting Hiltonhead we decided to try this place. We arrived around 3pm. The young lady informed us that dinner started at 430, but we could look to see if we wanted to eat at that time. She also told us that the things that where on the bar were not going to be replenished due to the change over for dinner. So we decided to come back at 430 when the fresh food would be available. After returning we decided on 2 all you can eat crab legs @ $ 29.95 buffet included and 2 buffets with crabs 1 serving. @ $ 19.95. Now here’s why I gave them 2 stars.
The sign reads… ALL YOU CAN EAT CRABLEGS… 1^st the crab legs are not on the bar. They bring them to you. 1^st plates brought to us had 2 clusters for the all you can eat and 1 cluster for the single serve. 2^nd –5^th plates only had one cluster. My husband decided to quit because the more you asked for they brought less and less to you and also took there time to bring you the crabs. My son asked for a 6^th plate after the waitress brought out this plate she brought us the check. My son wasn’t done but it appeared that they where done giving him crabs.
All you can eat means exactly what it says. The sign doesn’t say all we will let you eat.
Overall the food on the bar wasn’t bad but wasn’t the best I’ve had. I definitely will not ever order crab legs here ever again.

Oh gosh. The chicken was so bad I could not eat it. Grayish in color. The worst fried rice. I didn’t think it was possible to mess up fried rice but now I know it is. The rice had a gel-​like appearance. MSG’d all over it? I encourage you to avoid this place. So many great places on HHI. This is not one of them. I hope they can turn it around and succeed by serving good Asian food.

Typical Chinese buffet. The soup and appetizer selection is one of the best I’ve seen. If you are a sushi person this is your place; they have a large selection. Nothing extraordinary but not bad either. You have to ask your server for ice cream f you wan t it for dessert.

PLEASE DO NOT EAT HERE EVER!!! We had a cockroach join us for dinner on our table. We were mortified. My husband and I were physically ill the whole night last night. We’re on the island for vacation and were looking for someplace close to our hotel to grab a bite and stumbled into this place. The waitress didn’t even get upset or show very much emotion about the roach crawling across the table either. We fled as fast as we could. Please Don’t Eat here!!!

We don’t have a lot options for Asian buffets on the island, but don’t consider this one. The food isn’t at all fresh, the sushi is awful (yes, it’s a buffet, but even so it’s nauseating), the environment is dirty and noisy. There are great places to get good Japanese, Thai, and sushi very close by, don’t waste your time.

Worst sushi ever. Sushi fell apart and sub par at best. Pad Thai is the worst I have ever had. Manager tried to say that everyone makes Pad Thai different and it all depends on how you like it… Ummm no. Noodles and chicken that taste like their boiled with no sauce, veggies or taste in general is not a version of Pad Thai. It’s just bad.
Service was awful. So disappointed… Typically, I wouldn’t say avoid a place, but AVOID this establishment.
Update: the little bit that I did eat made me sick:(up all night. Such a bad choice for dinner:(

Very good. Ease of ordering online and quick delivery. This Chinese is a good place to order. We had chicken broccoli, general tso, crispy honey chicken all were good and they separated items so crispy chicken and sauce stayed crispy during delivery. Will order again from this place.

We were visiting Hilton Head Island, we went on a Monday night around 7:00 pm for dinner, it was Memorial Day, not busy which should have been our first clue not to eat here. The sushi was very sparse and just ok, not great. Almost of the food was below average — not great. Would not eat here again. Service was very good, and attentive.

Very average food. Sushi bar is adequate but lacking in flavor. Nothing spectacular but ok for the price $ 12 adult, $ 8 children’s dinner buffet. Server was very friendly.

I rarely post a review but had to tonight. After I saw a cockroach run across the sushi buffet bar I looked more closely at the carpet and floor areas. A number of areas were filthy especially the carpet meeting the tiled area by the food. I hate to think of what the kitchen looks like. Outside the building I saw a large rodent trap.

On a scale of 1 – 10 I would give this place a 2. I will grant the place that we ate on a Sunday around 1, after most of the lunch buffet was over and old. And it sure tasted like it. EVERY serving was basically a few scraps of leftovers. We asked if they were going to bring more fresh food out and we were told yes, but the only thing they updated in the hour or so we were there was the lo mein. I sure did not trust eating from the raw seafood bar, not on a Sunday and after seeing the rest of the buffet.
Do yourself a huge favor… keep driving.

In terms of sushi buffets, this is probably near the bottom of the list.
That being said, I LOVE sushi and eating it buffet style is sometimes the only financially viable way to do it. And there was nothing wrong with this sushi per se, just wasn’t amazing and I’ve been to a lot of great sushi buffets. It was really cheap for dinner and the food was all fine (and again i stress, all I can eat.) Most of their rolls had some sort of cream cheese in it though, so watch out if you’re not into that.
Could have done with some miso or udon! They let you add on all you can eat crab legs for an additional 15 or 20 dollars I think.
I probably wouldn’t come back here considering how many good restaurants (especially seafood restaurants) there are in Hilton Head.

I’m not a sushi kind of guy, but when I hear about a good Chinese buffet I’m right there! So when I found Vari Asian on Unilocal during our visit to Hilton Head Island I was looking forward to trying it.
We arrived a few minutes after 5 on a Friday afternoon and there were only two other customers, never a good sign. But we decided to give it a try anyway and were very glad we did. The hot & sour soup was very tasty, the friend rice was excellent, and everything else on the buffet table was very good. Service was fast and friendly. We’ll only be here a week, but we’re going to try to get back again before we leave.

Amazing experience! Went here with my boyfriend while on vacation. We were staying at Red Roof Inn next door and took a chance. Could not believe what we got for a 12.99 buffet! The food was delicious and the selection was great. Was pleasantly surprised to find salmon and fresh fruit in addition to the usual things like seafood, sushi, dim sum, and Chinese foods.
The waitress was absolutely wonderful — pleasant, smiling, courteous — a natural who made us feel very comfortable. Everyone we spoke to was extremely friendly, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our requests.
It was one of the highlights of our trip!

Went on a sunday night. There were barely any people. Buffet was not good. The buffet food were dry. The egg rolls were extra oily. Had the hot and sour soup. It taste good but there was meat in it. They had dim sum. Majority of the sushi rolls had cream cheese and the sushi wasn’t fresh.
The drinks were very watered down and they took a long time to make them.
The waitress was nice. She offered to serve ice cream.
The one thing that irritated me was the manager. He kept asking me what kind of asian am I and if I’m really asian! Plus I overheard him told one of his co workers that I speak cantonese, even though he was on the other side of the room.
I highly don’t recommend this place since the buffet food wasn’t so great! Also they need new management!

We went on a Friday night around 6pm. Wasn’t very crowded and the food was good. We ate the buffet and it’s a pretty good spread. $ 12.95 for regular dinner buffet (no crab legs).
There are several sections of food:
Sushi and sashimi (pretty fresh)
Assorted Chinese food (decent)
fried foods (not so good)
fruits and vegetables (pretty good)
desserts (good).
Service was outstanding. Our server immediately came to get our drink order when we were seated and had our drinks on our table before we returned from the bufffet. She constantly came by to take our dirty dishes and even went to get the kids ice cream for dessert.
