Haven’t even received food yet, but HORRIBLE experience. Do not come here even though it is Pelican Point, not worth it. Wish we could leave. Also wish there was something less than 1 star. Oh, let me add. Been here over an hour and no water fill ups. Ridiculous.

We came here in HOPE of it still being kingfisher. Unfortunately, it is now known as Pelicans point. They changed it in early March of this year. The menu is much less extensive, and the crab looked ok. When we asked our waitress if it was king crab, she insisted it was. Unfortunately, i ended up eating SNOW crab, which was ok, despite me not being a tedious eater. If you like a good view and Mediocre food with decent service, this place is for you. If your expecting anything above that, avoid this place. A bad case of false advertising.

Ate there for dinner this week. Been meaning to try it for several years as I frequent this area every fall for a little getaway. The food is in line with most of the reviews here, which is about average, nothing to write home about. Restaurant is dated and the wait for food took forever. Would not go back again

Close to the Disney resort, big nice looking place on the water, but not good food. Husband’s seafood boil dinner tasted inexplicably like spaghetti-O’s. NY strip was slightly tough. She crab soup was salty but still good. Waitstaff was super nice but very slow. We ignored the Unilocal reviews and have now learned our lesson. So I guess you could say this was an educational dinner… trust Unilocal and take the 10 minute car ride to someplace good. 2 stars for the soup, location and friendliness.

Beautiful décor. Our server, Victoria was wonderful. The she crab. soup was good, except a little too salty. Stuffed flounder and tilapia and crab au gratin were delicious. Nice size portions.

By far the least favorite restaurant of the week. Drinks were good but food tasted bland. I had a seafood platter. The scallops, shrimp, and fish all had the same bland seasoning so it tasted all the same. The rice was hard like under a warmer too long. Not coming back. Too many other good places.

Had the best Friday night in a long time. They had«Earl» playing and he was singing the blue, comedy, good jamming. I would go back in a heart beat. GOTHEREFRIDAYNIGHT. Do the happy hour specials. Love the scene!

Best customer service my husband and I have experienced since we moved to the south. I had the low county boil which was rich and fresh. My husband had the all you can eat pasta which he enjoyed after running around the beach all day like a kid. We will be back!

Stood at the door for 5 minutes with zero assistance then left and went to Scott’s Fish Market with much better results. The deserve the sad star count they have on Unilocal

I’ll put as much effort into this review as The server and cook staff did to our experience. Don’t eat here. Bad service. Bad food. Bad atmosphere.

Stopped by for happy hour and glad I did. Tina the bartender was awesome! Made us feel welcome right away, getting drinks in our hands in no time flat. Started off with six oysters(happy hour special 6 for $ 7). They were delicious and fresh. We decided on having apps for dinner, so we could try a variety. Settling on crab Cakes with fried green tomatoes, calamari, and shrimp and grits. Crab cakes score a 7, being rich in crab content, but a little light in flavor. The fried green tomatoes were decent. It is hard to go wrong with calamari; crisp, yet tender; a 7. The star of the meal was the shrimp and grits! A rich creamy cheese sauce over a scoop of grits and garnished with tender shrimp, smoky ham and green onion. Amazing a solid 9. Would have been 10 if the grits had been better(slightly under cooked and not as creamy as expected). Having room for dessert my wife and I did rock, paper, scissors to decide between the homemade chocolate peanut butter pie and the bailey’s chocolate chip cheesecakes. I won and we had the peanut butter pie. It was amazing! Smooth, rich, and creamy. Why a 5 star experience despite handing out 7s, a 9 and a 10? It was the festive and fun atmosphere that Tina our bartender brought. She made our experience memorable with her wit and humor. Don’t come for the décor, come for the view and food… you wont be disappointed.

not sure if the previous reviewers ate at the same restaurant. I have both served in and managed restaurants for 13 years so I feel I know what a good restaurant should be. Where to start… My in laws have taken us here 3 times now. Each time is worse than the last. They finally agreed that this is not the Kingfisher of their youth. The décor is the 70’s splashed all over and the patrons are more of that. Everything feels old. the green embossed carpet to the music to the food. I paid $ 25 for the fresh catch. What I got was a small fish fillet that was overcooked, rice pilaf that felt like it was boil in a bag rice and broccoli that was raw… not al dente; raw. My brother in law ordered a filet but received something different. He had to argue with the server that a filet does not have a strip of fat in it before he finally had the kitchen make a new one. it still came out with the wrong sides. That brings me to our server. I have no idea what his name was, never told us. stood at the POS as my mother in law tried to decide on an appetizer. «yes or no???» sooo rude. He then asked 3 other servers in front of us if they wanted to pick up our table. I wont go into the rest but I will never eat here again. I love the location and the family owned thing is something I support but if you want to remain a viable business you need to change with the times.

The atmosphere was mediocre at best(a bit drab inside, poorly painted over, worn looking, dated, unkept and empty, but with large windows and a fair water view). Hostess couldn’t smile or even look us in the eye. She was barely there. Our server was very friendly & attentive(worth one star) The food was awful, except for a side of pasta that was perfect. We couldn’t believe how bad our meals were. We barely finished half of our food and took nothing home. This was perhaps our worst dining experience in the last several years. Every seafood item we ordered was over cooked and dried out. The grouper was chewy the shrimp like rubber. The daily specials tasted freezer burned(this was unbelievable considering we were at the shore and eating seafood at a seafood restaurant). The sides were bland and over salted or loaded with Old Bay. Few items accurately reflected their menu descriptions. We ended up stopping at the grocery store afterward to get something decent to eat. A six dollar frozen pizza beat this place out. The total cost for 3 people was $ 86 with one appetizer, one shared desert and no drinks. Shut this place down and put it out of it’s misery.

As a hostess and server in a fine dining restaurant, I understand the difficulties of working in the food industry. So I always have empathy towards servers. This experience was one of the worst I’ve ever had. We called and were told they were completely booked for two hours, then showed up to an empty restaurant with only four other seated tables. Hostess was confused and rude. Server didn’t greet us, never checked in or refilled waters, for a table of five did not ask about the check just brought one and when asked to please split it just stared blankly at us with an «Uhh okay.» Came back, slapped the checks down without a word. The whole vibe was awful and cold. Saturday night Memorial Day weekend and the place was empty. Now I know why. Don’t waste your time.

Great prices but nothing to write home about. Nothing really was terrible but nothing really stood out either. Place is a little dated if you get anything get the appy volcano 20 bucks gets you crab legs peel and eat shrimp and oysters. It was huge!!! More than what was stated on the menu and looked impressive when it came out. The early bird specials are ok but priced great for what you get… Salad or soup entrée with two sides and a house glass of wine or dessert all for 15 bucks. Great deal but only 5 – 6 choices…

The service from Bryan was great! Prime rib was delicious as was the vegetable beef soup and these she crab soup! They have several beers on tap. Perhaps one of the best views of the water on Hilton head Island go early for the early bird menu and save a few dollars! Beware of the timeshare salesmen guarding the entrance he will badger you to take out a time share tour

My husband thought this place was ok but he’s not too picky. I really didn’t like it much. First off, a waiter came around with a bottle of wine and tried to push it on us. I can’t drink wine and my husband likes bourbon on the rocks. The salad was not great… I thought they needed a major remodel. The place seemed old and worn out. The portion size was small… I would not return… I think this place may have been the place to go years ago but it needed major revitalization.

Thank you Unilocal I read the reviews I did not listen the place reminds me of KMW cafeteria. Gordon Ramsay needs to go to this place desperately, I really don’t like to bash restaurants but I was warned I didn’t listen now I am warning others! I will describe, the calamari was the size of Cheerios my drink Cosmopolitan was water with no flavor. My porkchop special was from the microwave smothered in the cherries Jubilee with no flavor. And my Caesar salad lettuce was warm and wilted, The worst part is my wife yelled at me because I did not listen to Unilocal she’s ready to make a phone call to Gordon Ramsay. Now you have been warned!!! Hey Anthony from North Carolina I’m ready for you to sell me some real estate

Fourth of July, busiest day of the year for them and we still got in within a reasonable amount of time. First impression when walking is that the décor is somewhat dated and the lighting is adequate but barely. The noise level is moderate so no need to worry about hearing everyone’s conversation. The staff is capable, friendly and attentive however, on this particular night we didn’t receive that type of service from our server. Granted, he may have been new but he didn’t pass the test and he was given plenty of chances to redeem himself. On to the food which was mostly what we expected and some that I didn’t. My family of four enjoyed their meals without incident. But, I am here to talk about my dining experience which was not without incident. The price was appropriate for the meal that I received which was the flounder and scallops platter fried. However, I started with the calamari appetizer which had a nice flavor but I didn’t get too far because there was a piece of plastic that came with my calamari appetizer. I figured that it came from the bag the calamari was packaged in but no excuses when serving food to the public; each meal should be held to the highest standards possible. I did inform my server who just said«oh that doesn’t look good» and took the plate away. I figured he was talking to the manager about the mishap but when my waiter came back he knew nothing of the incident and really didn’t seem to concerned for my displeasure. I asked for the manager who came over and he apologized and then proceeded to give me a 15% discount off the entire meal and not charge for the calamari. I figure accidents happen but I did want the manager to know just so the cook is aware of the incident and can be more careful in the future. Now on the the main course, the flounder and scallops were both lightly breaded and seasoned with a hint of spices, the fries were oily, stale and cold but my expectations weren’t that high after the calamari incident. So, I just chalked it up to a bad evening due to Fourth of July. So after dinner my family and I decided to stay and watch the fireworks and I must admit we had a great seat. Overall, the best part of the evening was the fireworks and much was left to be desired for the Kingfisher restaurant. Your experience may be better the same or worse but for my evening and experience I’ll say that I have experience better.

We’ve read the reviews on Unilocal, and believe me when I say the negatives are unfounded. There’s a difference between«looking outdated» and styling your restaurant to match a theme. This restaurant matches a Mediterranean architecture and seems appropriate. The food was spectacular. The crab legs were perfectly steamed, and my steak was the best I had on the island. I also liked that the owner visited tables to make sure everything was going well. The restaurant has a guarantee, so if something’s not right, let your server know immediately, and they’ll fix it!
