Overall experience was sub-par given price point. Our request at time of reservation to be seated outside couldn’t be accommodated so we were told we could be seated by the window. 2 tables away from the window is not by the window. The tables by the window were occupied by borderline drunk patrons who had at least 8 empty bottles of wine between 8 adults. Given this is supposed to be a nice restaurant & not a bar in Long Island, their behavior was too obnoxious for the setting & was allowed to continue by staff. Once they left, the table next to us was offered a table by the window but we weren’t even though they were seating shortly after us. The food was good but not great, small portions for the price — even for fresh seafood. The diver scallops were small & the grouper was overdone. Our server did not refill our water or wine the entire meal. If I’m paying $ 200 for a table of 4, the least he could do is refill our empty wine glass or sodas for the teenagers. We’ve had worse on HHI but know there are definitely better places. Won’t be back & really can’t recommend.

Big ribeye — big disappointment! Over cooked first time –2nd try undercooked & cold… lost appetite @ that point– real bummer at that price! Grouper was good; stringy snap peas; Caesar salad below par– bla. Key lime pie best part of meal. Service was pleasant but alas she didn’t prepare the mediocre food. View of harbor beautiful… too bad for subpar fare. .will not return with current kitchen

Been sitting here for almost an hour, place is not busy. waitress dropped a glass of alcohol at nxt table, it shot across and hit my husbands shirt and left stain marks. We both ordered a burger. Really? How long does it take to cook a burger? View is great, but over it

Great food. Lousy table. Too cold and too loud. They sat us in the bar! A nice quiet table outside would’ve been perfect sorry don’t need a two-piece band in that small area. Loved the crab cakes

My husband and I came here on a Thursday night for our anniversary. We were seated right away, and ended up having the dining room to ourselves by the time we finished. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and gave good recommendations. For appetizers we had the lobster bisque and crab cakes, both were delicious. For dinner we had the lobster tail and the scallops, both with risotto. The food was really good, but not anything that I would kill to have again. I’d come here again while on vacation in Hilton head.

Very disappointing. We were there on a Sunday evening with a group of four. We waited patiently to order drinks and appetizers when several tables were served ahead of us, We finally had to ask to hear the specials of the day. Also had to ask for bread when other tables received when ordering entrees. It was a special anniversary for my wife and I which the restaurant knew. It would have been nice had someone at least come over and acknowledged our celebration. Food was good but not extraordinary. It’s VERY loud inside so bring earmuffs. Doubtful we would go back.

Our family had a wonderful dinner at Ela’s Blue Water Grille. It was a beautiful sunset over the bay, and a moonrise over Shelter harbor. We sat outside and enjoyed the sights as we were promptly attended to. The service was wonderful throughout the night. The food was fresh and well prepared. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. We started with oysters and fried green tomatoes(one of my only critiques is a better choice of green tomato — not so hard in the middle), but it was very good. I enjoyed a special — Sea bass cooked perfectly on a bed of risotto and grilled zucchini. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. My daughter had a NY strip cooked to perfection. My son had the pork tenderloin wrapped with prosciutto with red potatoes and spinach. My wife and son both had the lobster over a bed of delicious risotto. We will certainly return to Ela’s. The service, food and location were excellent. If I could rate it a 4 ½ stars, I would.

This was my first time at Elas but, it won’t be my last. I had dinner with my husband and a group of friends the other night and had the best rib-eye I have ever had. It was cooked to perfection. All of us lived our food and drinks. Live entertainment was performing while we were eating. My next trip to Hilton Head will include a trip back to Elas.

Our favorite spot in Hilton Head for dinner! Honestly, Ela’s just keeps getting better(and more popular, by the crowd’s we’ve seen). The food’s always been top notch, and the views of the marina make for a great sunset dinner. Ashleigh, our server, was outstanding and checked on us throughout our meal and made sure our glasses were never empty; all the while taking care of all the other tables and customers with the same care and attention. The food, selection, location and service make Ela’s a stand out. We’ve seen some of our other favorite restaurants slip, and appear to have service/food rest on their prior reputations. Ela’s has only gotten better with each visit. Kudos to the chef and staff at Ela’s. We will be returning frequently!

Lovely lunch, views and service. Recommend the lobster bisque, crab cake and grouper.

This is one of the most consistent restaurants I eat at in Hilton Head. Every single time the food tastes fresh, is plated nicely, and the service is always excellent. I highly suggest the calamari. I can’t eat it anywhere else because Ela’s is just amazing. If you go during off season it’s still pretty busy but during tourists season I highly suggest making a reservation because sometimes they’re book days in advance.

Good view. Good food. Good service. Fish tacos were delicious and ugly burger was messy but tasty. Fish and chips were just ok.

The outside seating has a nice view overlooking the Shelter Cove Harbour. Perfect to relax and unwind. For lunch we had THEUGLYBURGER which includes cheddar, bacon, fried green tomato and arugula with a shallot dressing, and s side of truffle fries. This burger was definitely a let down, dried out and charred on the outside. The fries however were pretty good shoestring fries. We also tried the FISHANDCHIPS. We were told it was fresh grouper, but it was pretty fishy tasting for grouper. The menu also said«lightly battered»… I’d hate to see normal barter, as this was heavy like KFC extra crispy. Maybe dinner is better, but for $ 45+ for 2 mediocre lunch entrees and a dessert; I expect much more, and will take my money elsewhere to find it.

I had dinner here alone on my vacation on 9⁄29. By far the best meal I’ve had! Everything was to die for! Love the beets and goat cheese salad and the grouper was amazing as well. First time trying Hushpuppies and I am addicted! They come free with the bread. They don’t make those back here at home. Service was excellent!

Just had lunch here and this review pains me to write… Out waiter was great, personable and knowledgable about the menu. He was the only waiter on staff and got body slammed by at least 9 tables totaling about 30 customers. As he ran from kitchen to table to table to kitchen there was very little support for him from the other staff, the host and another man dressed in street clothes(who never introduced himself). Periodically someone other than our server appeared but it was of little help. It was a real shame because the food and bev’s were pretty good, cold but good. If you go, go for the ambiance and hope they have adequate staff.

Food, service and the entire staff were all good. My impression is if u r looking for a rock solid/dependable meal this is a very good choice. FYI we really enjoyed the live music… it was a Friday night so not sure if that is every night.

While this restaurant had beautiful ambience, a great view and delicious hushpuppies, I was not blown away by the food. My shrimp and grits with prosciutto was overly salty. I will say I enjoyed the key lime Pie dessert very much. I would come back here for a drink definitely but not sure if I’d give it another whirl for dinner… definitely not terrible, was an enjoyable experience but can’t get over that salty dish!
