Drove over an hour and got there ten minutes before closing only to be told, «We’re closing it’s been a long day.»? So your telling me going home is more important then helping a paying customer? I knew what I wanted to purchase and was still given limited to zero help. From what I was able to see in five minutes was over priced items anyway. I asked about an item without a price tag and the answer was were closed. If you want horrible customer service our service minus the ALOHA come here.

This store was recommended by our daughter who purchased a beautiful monkey pod table from them. We found excellent quality furniture, and the staff were so friendly. They even sent us home with a gift. Couldn’t be happier with this store.

We don’t get over to Hilo all that often, even though with the new Saddle Road it’s a pleasant 90 minute drive. My wife had heard that this was a fun store well worth visiting so we stopped in. I can see why one reviewer commented on driving by and not stopping, but don’t let the industrial park vibe keep you away. This store has a fine selection of reasonably priced furniture and home décor items. Fortunately we drove over in our pickup, and it left the place filled. The owner and two employees were so friendly and helpful that we left feeling we’d made new friends as well. They packed the items in boxes and shrinkwrapped our artwork so it would be remain dry on the Saddle, and helped load it in the truck. All in all it was a very enjoyable shopping experience. My iphone Unilocal/map app found the place easily. It’s on a sidestreet off the main road, a large green building which I spaced out and forgot to take a pic of. The owner has a wealth of decorating knowledge, and was happy to talk story with us. There’s also a large plant collection outside. We had wayyyy too much fun at this place with it’s eclectic collection of quality items. It is now a mandatory stop when we return to Hilo. Mahalo.

I absolutely love this place. We are building our dream home, with a Bali theme. We have gotten so many things here, and I love all of them. We put their tile, lights, vessels sinks, artifacts, statues, planters, furniture etc. Shopping in Hilo can be a chore if you like unique, nice things. Paradise Plants has loads of nice things and while some items are pricey — to be expected when it is brought in from Bali — most things are reasonably priced. I couldn’t be happier with how our home is turning out. Leslie and her staff are very friendly, responsive and will order things if you need.

Sheesh, I’ve driven by this place hundreds if not thousands of times and never went in because the sign from the road just somehow seemed to imply a small plant selection and and a few sticks of dusty furniture… WOWWAS I WRONG ! Yes they have great plants and orchids(a friend told me best quality in Hilo) but they ALSO have a bunch of gift items including glassware, Woodstock chimes, a HUGE selection of planters and pond containers, 2BIGSPACES with furniture, reasonably priced COUCHES made by Shakers in Ohio, lamps, side tables, futons, tile, river stone, … the place was great to browse. PLUSTHESERVICEWASIMPECCABLEANDFRIENDLY. BONUSTIP: I saw a man pick out 3 gorgeous live orchids and a basket, and the staff turned it all into a single amazingly beautiful gift for not very much money !

Plants, furniture, home fixtures, asian trinkets, Putumayo CD’s, and a few books. A great place to browse and fantasize about a tropical asian home.
