Mac Made Easy

Went into Mac Made Easy Hilo on Saturday, January 16, 2016 with a girlfriend to look for an external hard drive. There was a gal at the computer and another young, attractive gal with long hair that came out from the back to help us. I told her what I was looking for and that a male worker previously said I could come in and they’d show me how to set up the hard drive and show me how to set it up so it would save everything automatically. The young gal said, «Oh he said that? We don’t do that. He must’ve been the trainer and he’s no longer her». She had no smile on her face, spoke in a condescending tone, and showed NO ALOHA SPIRIT. The gal on the computer was of no help either. The young gal then proceeded to tell us that they are short staffed so they can’t help us. There was no one else at that time in the store except my girlfriend and me.
Then I asked if I could plug in my computer cause my girlfriend said she could try to help me. Young girl hesitantly said «yes», and by that time my friend and I was so disappointed with their lack of enthusiasm to help that we just immediately left. We were talking outside of the store for awhile and the horrible experience we just had when the young gal came walking past us. We stopped her and told her how we felt, and she was apologetic but I’m not sure if she was really sincere. She tried many times to get us to come back in again, but respect was already lost.
At the end, she did me a favor because I got an external hard drive from another store where the customer store was excellent and it cost half the price!
Never shopping at Mac Made Easy Hilo again!

These guys used to be great but apparently they have been sold to new owners. All the old staff are gone and the customer service is awful. Took my phone in to get fixed, they don’t do repairs anymore, so they made me buy a new one which was refurbished they did not tell me that until after I got it. They took the old screen cover off my old phone and broke it. They did not even offer to replace the screen cover. They lost a valuable customer I have bought two iPads from them and an iPhone. Never again will I buy anything from them again.

Eric has helped me on more than one occasion here and I just have to say that if you are looking for honest help, quick, knowledgable and efficient workers, GO TO MAC MADE EASY! I have gone to them for my laptop not starting up, for stuck keys, and a failing hard drive. They utilize Drive Savers in California to recover data that they can’t, and Rocky there is extremely helpful! They do what they can, the best they can. Helpful, simple and much better than going to my phone carrier store.
However, the associates in the store are something else. Some are very kind and helpful, …while others come off as pretentious and irritated.
Instead of being understanding or helpful the associate chastised me for not backing up my data on the cloud while patronizingly explaining what the cloud is.
But the other times I’ve been in the store have been mostly successful and the associates usually give really solid advice.

When you are a tourist, and all of a sudden, you can’t plug the charger into your iPhone, it’s hard not to panic. Don’t panic, just bring your device here. A wonderfully calm guy fixed our phone FOR FREE! (We were so grateful that we bought an accessory we didn’t need.) He then looked up the phone and told us how to get a free phone battery replacement once we get back home.
This is a fairly large shop with at least three or four employees work up front and in the back. They are wonderfully easy to work with. We are really glad we found it. Mahalo!

They broke my phone. I took my Iphone 5 in for a battery replacement through the Apple recall. Was called on Friday afternoon to say that they had the part in and that they are timed on repairs so please come get it. Couldn’t make it to the store that weekend and was planning to go Tuesday, however I was left a voicemail on Monday afternoon stating that they had to return the battery because they had had it too long. They had the battery 4 days. I tried calling them that afternoon to let them know that I would be in on Tuesday to get it, however the phone number was «unavailable at this time». I tried calling four times. Since I figured they had returned the battery, I was going to get the repair done through mail in to Apple instead. I then received another phone call on Wednesday, could I please come get my battery because they have to return it. So, they apparently lie to their customers to create a sense of urgency so they can get better repair times to report to Apple. On top of this, when they did replace the battery they broke my phone. After the battery was replaced the screen was shaking and flickering. Do not take your Apple products here! Send them to Apple or go Oahu.

Excellent customer service from the minute you walk through the door. Super professional, they know what they’re talking about! I never once felt stupid or talked down upon. I’ve been to places that made me feel this way when it comes to fixing Apple products. I came in with a problem and the guys gave me a list of options and suggestions. I am super impressed. I highly recommend Mac Made Easy!

The employees are extremely helpful and very patient (which is nice because I change my mind about a hundred times before I decide). They explain everything very well and it seems like they are legitimately wanting you to have the best working computer. They gave multiple options for fixing my computer and for that, thank you, Mac made easy! Special thanks to Nick

Needed an emergency repair to my MBP — part was ordered on Friday, installed on Monday in 15 minutes. Just great.

i had some repairs done on my imac that was still in warranty. they did a great job and had a quick turn around. no need to fly to oahu, haha.
