Wow! The most impressive Shop Rite store I’ve ever seen. Not in my shopping area, alas, but if this is the new model for their stores, the competition should be concerned.
As for Rt. 22, lol, what a freakin’ nightmare!

This place was ooohhh-​kay, but nothing special, kind of old and out-​dated and not in the best looking area. Later I found a Stop & Shop in Elizabeth I think it was — not sure (?). I’m not from or live in NJ, was just there for a couple days, what is up with these old grocery stores built in 1965 that look like they haven’t been updated since 1978!!! If a grocery store looks old and worn it makes me think it’s not clean. I actually went to two Shop Rite’s in the area (think the other was in Kearny. The one Stop & Shop I found was big and clean and modern looking.

I rented a carpet cleaner here. It was OK. They didn’t offer me the cleaning solution, which I remembered as I saw it while walking OUT the front door where it is stacked for display, beyond the checkout registers. Odd… Gluten free section by customer service.

One of my favorite shoprite locations, esp in my hometown. Love the new size definitely a upgrade to the store. Now the bad. …
Cashiers please it’s not my job to bag my groceries yes if I have a lot I will «help» but don’t wait for me to finish bagging while you just stand there pushing it down.
I’m not sure how often they check the expiration date on items, but I have picked up some protein bars that was 2013… umm hello we are well half into the new year no need for that, so I went to customer service to let them know. They ensure me the person working that section hasn’t come in yet and they would put out a new box fine.
I have found yogurt expired. I see they put the ones closer to date in the front and the fresher ones towards the back. So tip, dig further in the back to get the longer date.

This supermarket is
HUGE, If you know this supermarket from back in the day they’ve expanded. Great variety and pricing. I’m not happy with the customer service in here, I have been let down too many times in the deli so I try to go elsewhere. Super packed location during rush hours. be forewarned.
Avoid the deli as the staff in the deli are very mean and not customer service oriented.

I am completely in love with the renovations done to this place! The new additions were perfect! I didn’t know a grocery store could get that large and have so many selections like Shop Rite. They have really stepped their game up! If your in the area go check it out!

This location has been around for years with a recent expansion which increases your selection of food and prices. The facility is always clean, spacious, and friendly. Not only are there weekly sales, there’s ample parking to get to those sales! I have been going here for years whether it’s early in the morning or late at night, this Shop Rite is always reliable.
