We come here at least once a week. THEY HAVE THE BEST FOOD IN TOWN! If you want real Mexican food this is your place. The only complaint is they can be a little slow… But not bad enough where I wouldn’t go back!

Got take-​out for two people. Like Ixtapa and Taqueria Mariposa, this is a very close-​to-​authentic Mexican restaurant in Hillsborough that takes its time to prepare your food fresh. The service was very pleasant. Despite reading back my order with care, they messed up a great deal of the order. They charged me for the whole order, but neglected to give me two taco’s I ordered. Instead of a chicken burrito, I got a bean burrito. Instead of an extra side of black beans, they gave rice.
The chili relleno was only OK — honestly, something similar to what you could get from a place that serves food by the numbers, if you get my meaning. The burrito, rice, and salsa lacked a signature bite. The tortillas, as stated in other reviews, are excellent.
I wish I could give this a better review since we want small family-​owned businesses in Hillsborough to succeed… but can’t imagine why we’d go back. Double check your to-​go order before leaving.

The Taco’s are best in town! The super fresh, fluffy and made from scratch tortillas are best in NC.

Just stopped in for a sample. Tried the asada and al pastor tacos — both were delicious with a generous portion of meat and covered in chopped onions and chopped fresh cilantro. Can’t give it 5 stars yet, but hope to return soon for a full meal. Delighted to have another traditional Mexican option in Hillsborough (cf. El Restarante Ixtapa on Exchange Club Rd).
