Love their chilli with rice for $ 5. Very rich and flavorful, with good texture(not mush). My other typical order is the $ 8 half Shoyu Chicken and half Kalua Pork(ask to top with their BBQ sauce from the back), Mac salad, and two balls of white rice(sadly no option for brown rice). I generously cover the rice with either their regular or spicy teriyaki sauce. I like how neither are thick so it soaks in well. Their coconut ice cream is very special too.

Thought I would try this place again after giving it 6 months… Sad to say not a thing has changed. The food has gotten even worse and the service still sucks. Man I saw some potential for this place. Guess the owners just don’t care about the quests and the food or service. Hopefully the management will go take some classes on how to manage a restaurant.

This little hole in the wall shaved ice/meal place is nice! Location is convenient and well lit/safe. They have numerous options for shaved ice; you can even add ice cream to the middle(so fun!) as well as various toppings. They actually serve a few food entrees here! I’ve tried their shoyu chicken and you can’t go wrong with it :) comes with plenty of rice and a side. Chicken is tasty and not a lot of fat on it like other Hawaiian eateries I’ve experienced. Only complaints I have are how dingy/sad the inside is and the customer service. Their girls seem to be just going through the motions with their job which is not adding to the experience at all! Cheer up, girls! Put a smile on a few of your customers’ faces and they may come back time and time again.

Momo’s isn’t really a food truck, though I think they do have a food truck for special occasions. This place is a bonafide hole in the wall Hawaiian stop. During the summer months I frequent this fine establishment to get my shaved ice fix. They make it just like I remember having in Hawaii and it comes at a price point that won’t break the bank. Also featured on their menu is a selection of Hawaiian food which I see people order on occasion but admittedly, I’ve only tried the Loco-Moco. I would rate the LM as tasty, but not spectacular. I mostly get it out of convenience of living down the street but if I lived in Beaverton or Portland then I would be able to find comparable options nearby without much difficulty. In other words the Loco-Moco isn’t worth a 20 min drive. But for a place called Momo’s Hawaiian Shave Ice, you shouldn’t expect to get Loco-Moco anyway, you should be getting shaved ice and that my friends is worth a 20 – 30 min drive. They do their main fare well, really well, and it is delicious and satisfying in a way that only shaved ice can be. I prefer this stuff to plain ice cream 8 times out of 10, in part because you get ice cream inside the shaved ice and you can top it off with condensed milk too. This isn’t the healthiest treat by any means but most great tasting food isn’t healthy, right? You really should check this place out, it is one of the few establishments that I’d miss if I were to move out of the area!

Very glad to see quality Hawaiian grindz in this little industrial park In tha’ H-boro. Though I do love Hawaiian food I’m not huge on the shave ice. I did like Momo’s coconut ice cream, however, as well as the macadamia nut. Yummmmm. The menu here is quite limited— a Hawaiian dog here, a Hawaiian burger there, here a plate, there a plate, every where a-platey plate… thankfully they didn’t leave out the Heavyweight champion supreme of plate lunch comfort nosh— the Loco Motha-Friggin Moco. A nice thick, juicy burger patty is complemented by two fried eggs as well as the rice, mac salad and gravy. An extra .50 for grilled onions is worth every cent, IMHO. Oh, these be Hearty grindz! Most people would NOT need anything more to eat, if they manage to polish off that beast. They also offer musubi @ Momo’s, which I was very pleased to see — - the classic spam, but also kalua pork and shoyu chicken. The Kalua pig was the only thing I’ve tried that I didn’t care for @ Momo’s. Maybe it was a timing thing: my batch was dry, and looked like and even sort of smelled like dried out, day old tuna. I also would’ve liked to have seen a Furikake option for the Musubi— at least have a couple shakers in the condiment/hot sauce cart, so people can gussy it up or shun the Furikake to their hearts content. A final suggestion for Momo’s, and to be clear that on the whole, I love what y’all have going on here, I’m pleased they’ve moved up to B/M from the taco truck… I’d love to see a killer fish option or two on the menu, and nooooo I am NOT talkin’ bout that fishy kalua pig!!! Get some poke going on that menu, some lomi-lomi salmon, also, maybe some chicken long rice— and BOOM! you’ll be in 5 star Unilocal heaven before you knew what hit you… Mahalo!

I love to come here just for their shaved ice! They’re quite popular so you should probably expect a line when you come in. The other food is not too bad but nothing to write home about

This is such a fun place to get some yummy shaved ice. The food is good too! I especially enjoy the vanilla ice cream in the center of the shaved ice.

Hm, I’ve been hearing about this place for awhile now and finally got to try it out. Overall, the service was great in that the servers were super friendly and accommodated — our shaved ice order was put in but was not made until food was done being eaten. I ordered 3 musubis — one spam(best of all, duh), one shoyu chicken(which was good), and one kalua pork(which was kind of dry). All served with plenty of rice The shaved ice was delicious and refreshing — flavors ordered: green apple, li-hing(plum), and lychee. I didn’t order this — my friend did and surprisingly, loved this mix!

HOLYSWEETNESSBATMAN! This shave ice is very sweet but very good. I went here for the first time yesterday and got a kids size with coconut ice cream, peach, coconut and pineapple with the snow cap. It’s very creamy and delicious. I would prefer a little less sweet and would only get one flavor next time with maybe ½ the syrup. Overall a great place for a cold treat on a hot day!

AhMAZing!!! We found this hidden gem and fell in love after our first visit. The shaved ice is delicious. We have yet to be disappointed! We also have had their kahlua pork, which we found to be just OK. I wish it had better flavor, and their optional sauces left me wanting, but that’s alright. I think their shaved ice is their money-maker anyhow. I don’t know how I ever lived without this deliciousness! We will come back again and again.

Awesome. There is no other place like this. Food is great and we’ll prepared at a decent price. The only negative is that they ruin any other shave ice experience that you will ever have. Once you have your first momo shaved ice, you will never want shave ice from anyone else again! Ever. Promise!

Got the Tiger’s Blood with snow cap, which means delicious strawberry coconut syrup on top of a shaved ball of ice on top of vanilla ice cream topped with condensed milk drizzle. Perfection. I also love how they play oldie surf tunes. It’s like being at the beach!

Lots of flavors to choose from! I got the lime and strawberry flavors with the snow cap(condensed milk). Yum! The place has like 5 small tables. Very sweet spot. Next time I want to try it with ice cream!

Ever since I moved to Oregon/Beaverton, all I’ve been doing is eating eating eatingggg. And this is one of the places that stood out the most. Went with my coworkers and got a Kid’s Sized shaved ice with macadamia nut ice cream(additional $ 1) and passionfruit & guava syrup(up to 3 flavors for free). ITWASDELICIOUS. I don’t even remember my shaved ice in Hawaii tasting that good. Probably because it didn’t have ice cream on the bottom, let alone macadamia nut ice cream(one of fave ice cream flavors). The place is randomly located in a business center next to an ammunition store? I definitely want to come back and try their food — spam musubi and loco moco with shaved ice for dessert? DOWN. I love Oregon already!

Happy that they seem to be doing so well. I would def come back over and over again for the shave ice. It’s sooooo delicious. You have to make sure you get shave ice with the coconut ice cream and mochi underneath. My fave flavor is tigers blood and Li hing. Make sure to snow cap it and add Li hing powder!!! I wouldn’t say their food menu is the greatest for Hawaiian food, but their shave ice is the best I’ve had here in Oregon. Made me feel like I was back in Maui. The server at the front was super duper friendly and my order was made fast! I suggest looking at the menu well in advance to know what you want… to reduce wait times because dangggg some people take forever at the front ordering lol. Thanks haha. Can’t wait for my next trip back!

I have now visited Momo’s twice for lunch and shave ice. The shave ice is oh so ono! Especially with some coconut or mac nut ice cream and a snow cap. The ice is fluffy and the flavors are great. I asked where their ice cream is from but they wouldn’t tell me because it’s a «secret». We have tried the Shoyu Chicken and the Loco Moco. Both are very tasty. Unfortunately, my serving size of Shoyu was a pretty weak on my last trip. It sounded like they were almost out so either I got the last of it or they were trying to get a few more orders out of what was left.(this cost them one star) Make sure you take advantage of their generous rewards program because you’ll be back. \nnn/

Yes! So happy to see this place open up right next to where I live. The shave ice is as delicious as the stuff I had in Hawaii a few months ago.

A true gem in Hillsboro! Prices are great and service is very friendly and helpful. We ordered the shoyu chicken plate and loco moco plate. The food was actually pretty good! We also had the special shaved ice(tigers blood flavor, coconut ice cream and snow cap). I highly recommend this! Also the haupia(a more creamy coconut flavor) was recommended and definitely THEBEST flavor.

Sooooo… I came here twice. In the same day. During the middle of winter. Yup. It’s good. Don’t judge me. It’s located on the street side of an odd industrial business park. Don’t be fooled by the location though because once you enter, you’re in a tropical sea of blue and yellow walls. The cash register is under a cute tiki hut thing, I dig it. I got the special both times, it’s a regular size tiger’s blood with coconut ice cream and the snow cap(condensed milk). Their coconut ice cream is to die for, it comes with chunks of coconut in it. The syrup doesn’t taste artificial, which is a huge plus. Definitely opt for the snow cap, it adds a nice creamy component to balance the overwhelming sweetness. Though there are places with larger portion sizes, I think the regular size is the perfect portion. You can get through the whole thing without most of it melting or getting a major brain freeze. The second time we came in the evening, and it must have been right after a rush because all the open tables were sticky from the dripping syrups. After we picked a table, though, the girl went around cleaning all the tables. Very friendly staff though, I look forward to trying their food menu!
