Starbucks

Visited this store today, it was my first time inside. Sure the large painting on one of the walls is great! But that’s about it. The customer service on the other hand. Definitely lacking, like the other reviewer said, no smiles from either guy behind the counter. I will stick to going to the Starbucks on 41 in HP. Also, I would REALLY appreciate it if all Starbucks employees knew how to follow Starbucks free refill policy, UGH!

I normally use the drive thru but today I decided to go inside because there were a lot of cars waiting but no line inside. What a big mistake! This barista named Jackie basically just looked at me when I got inside. I was just standing there wondering «Where am I? Did they run out of coffee? Are they not taking orders today? They should have closed down the place!» Another woman (could be the manager) had to say something to her before she acknowledged me and took my order! Are you kidding me!!! Great customer service there Jackie … NOT!!! Luckily, I found another Starbucks that I have been going to frequently to get my coffee in the morning. I will do my best not to come back to this place, unless I do not have a choice, but I will stick to the drive-​thru; because for me, good customer service is still a priority. Which by the way, is very rare in this town!!!

Feel bad leaving this review, but the guys working here do not know how to even crack a smile. I come here all the time, but don’t get any of the usual friendly barista engagement that I often encounter at other Starbucks. Indeed the two guys here barely make eye contact, seem bored, as if wishing they could be anywhere else but here. Wow.

Rude staff, poor service, gets drinks wrong. I try to avoid this location as much as possible

All Starbucks offer the same food but this location is my favorite. I rarely wait in line to order and they also offer a drive-​thru. It’s a great quite place to study and have a coffee

I love the Starbucks this staff is always in a good mood! they always know the crazy way we like to order coffee and food, they never forget their names, and it has all the appeal of a place that wasn’t a chain!

As Starbucks go, this is a pretty good one. They have both a drive thru and indoor and outdoor seating.
During peak times though service can be a bit slow. Today when I went not only was service on slower side but the barista called out the drinks so quietly that it was impossible to hear when your’s was ready unless you were standing on top of him! Speak up man! Nothing to be afraid of unless some caffeine deprived patron misses their caffeine fix and launches an attack.

This is a small location with a lot of great people. I like this Starbucks location in particular because it’s got lots of parking and not in the middle of all the HP traffic. The staff are very friendly and make me feel welcome every time I walk through the door. I particularly like how the location is its own structure and not a spot in some strip mall. There is outdoor seating that my kids and I like to take advantage of when the weather is nice.

I’ll get the positives out of the way first: super friendly staff, really delivers everything you might expect from a Starbucks. This a smaller Starbucks, but still very nice.
The one mistake I think was made here is that this should have maybe not been a drive-​thru location. It’s a smaller area and while the drive-​thru is a little tight, the bigger issue is that, given how it’s set-​up, during busy periods, the line sometimes has spilled out into the street. Again, great staff and a fine Starbucks all around, but the drive-​thru aspect could maybe have been planned out a bit better.
Definitely a great choice to stop at if you’re on the nearby Green Bay Trail or going to the Fort Sheridan forest preserve nearby. Also, certainly a fine location choice by Starbucks from the standpoint of the train station being right there (the train parking lot is right next to the small Starbucks lot.)

When I am in the North Shore area this Starbucks is always my first choice, not just because it’s close to Lake Forest where I Live, Because the people that work here are Super.Nice. They really go out of there way to make your visit special and always say hello and goodbye.

As a former Starbucks Barista, this Starbucks is an embarrassment. There was maybe 5 people in front of me in line, and it took at the very least 10 minutes for me to get through the line and get my order. That is completely unacceptable. There is absolutely no expediting going on I couldn’t even believe it. The trash on the patio was completely over flowed. It was just a sad demonstration.

I am not a big fan of coffee, I know — sacrilegious! This review is of their drive-​thru service. I have been here a few times and they are always helpful, courteous and friendly. Always willing to help and efficient! There IS more to Starbucks than coffee, I am finding out and with the muffins, chai and other teas and such, I may need to rethink my stance on coffee …

Starbucks doesn’t exactly need reviews — I mean they’re pretty much all the same, right? This particular Starbucks very quickly demonstrates that they are not all created equal.
The staff at this Starbucks are amazing. I’ve been visiting several times a week for at least 3 years and Mike knows me by voice (through the drive through speaker) and by order. He can tell whether I’m running late for work or have time to chat because he knows my schedule and routine. He knows right away when one of the younger workers gets my order wrong and he quickly fixes it.
Though the Lake Forest Starbucks is probably closer to my office, I am loyal to this store because of the care and service they show their customers. In fact, my coworkers even refer to it as my store, as in «I went to YOUR Starbucks today».
This store rocks.

This week at Starbucks I learned that only the Schaumburg and Chicago locations have wine at them. Wah wah. The fella working here brought up a good point though… if they had wine, he’d have to drink it. I completely understand his plight.
I met a friend at this location this week to kill a bit of time and get a little something in our bellies before heading to an event. The workers were all quite friendly and very helpful and if I lived in the area, this would definitely be my go to hot beverage spot.
For $ 5 I got this great compact little package with sliced apples, nuts & berries, a couple of different types of cheeses and crackers. I hate to point out the obvious but this would have gone perfectly with a glass of white. I’m going to start a petition that all Starbucks should carry wine!

nice staff, friendly as to expect by this company. Have never experienced an issue with my orders. This place is just fine, nothing that really sticks out like my other fav starbucks though

Since Hubby and I moved, this has become «our» Starbucks. In fact people that know us think we picked our new place because it was close to a Starbucks… And this one is a good one.
It took some time, but the folks here know us. It’s small, but has some good seating. No fireplace or anything like you you might find at a fancy Starbucks… But it suits us just fine.
The staff is so friendly. However, sometimes they get a bit preoccupied with the drive thru customers… But that’s ok. Having the drive thru keeps the inside less crowded.
It’s always neat, clean, and never too crowded. With a friendly staff, what more could you ask for???

Hello. My name is Jennifer and I am a Starbucks addict.
I’ve been coming to this location for years. We walk here with our kids before going to the nature preserve. We do the drive through. Oh yes, there is a drive through, which I thought was the most ridiculous thing until I realized what a pain it is to get out of the car with little kids and then get back in again.
The staff rocks here. They all know us by name. And we all know their names, too. The staff here love to laugh and are hard working. We enjoy visiting. — they are all sweet, funny and genuinely nice.
This Starbucks is not a franchise. It feels like my neighborhood coffee shop. Take the time to get to know the staff. They will become an enjoyable part of our day :)

My parents are neighbors of this Highwood Starbucks, on Highland Park side, I moved away to NYC to 3 years ago, my vente vanilla latte today was/​is off the chain– Mike is gifted, talented & wonderfully kind person.
Worth the visit every time I come home.

Is it bad when the barristas already know what you’re going to order when you walk in the door?
Always friendly and impeccable memories! The outdoor seating is always a plus for me especially on pleasant days like today!
